Westin is a great brand to deal with, we have been dealing with them now for the last 10-years and believe their products to be the very best on the market. Nothing is too much trouble, sales and service are on point. Our rep Andreas is always so helpful & friendly. Macphersons Appliances Harborne, highly recommend them.

Working with Westin, and Andreas in particular, is always a pleasure. He is incredibly informative, helpful, and never more than a phone call away.
The range of options available is extensive, and the quality & service is consistently exceptional. When it comes to kitchen extraction solutions, we wouldn’t look to anyone else for all our clients.

Westin Bespoke Extractor

I found Westin really very easy to deal with for my bespoke hood. From the first site visit till the installation it was all very easy. The hood has been in use for 3 years now and it works really well. We love to cook lots of different cuisines but would always end up with a smelly smoke filled kitchen, which is why we bit the bullet and invested in a new extractor. We are really pleased that we did. With the Westin extractor we have a lovely smoke free and smell free kitchen.

Fantastic quality and finish.

We went to Westin with very specific requirements of what we needed and they delivered on everything. Fantastic service from start to finish and the quality is second to none. Would highly recommend.

Outrageous call out charge

The lights in my 8 year old Westin cooker hood stopped working. Had to pay £323 to get them fixed! The LED driver needed replacing, the part was £19.19 and it was a 10 minute job. The £250 +vat call out charge is outrageous.

We’re sorry to hear you're unhappy with the service cost, but we’d like to clarify a few important details.

The call-out charge you were quoted and agreed to is a fixed price, regardless of how long the engineer is on-site.

This means that even if the repair takes significantly longer, or if multiple visits are needed to fully resolve the issue, you wouldn’t be charged any extra.
In your case, the issue was diagnosed and resolved in a single visit, but had further work been required, it would have been included within that original cost.

The call-out fee also covers travel, diagnostics, and the expertise of a fully trained Westin engineer using genuine parts.
We understand a short visit can feel costly, but the fixed price offers peace of mind and protects you from escalating charges.

We hope this provides clarity, and we do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Useless product…

Useless product…. Doesn’t work when you switch it on…. Comes on in the middle of the night…. Customer services in Uk no help whatsoever

Updated: spoke to customer services - they advised that it would cost £300 plus VAT just for a call out to assess the problem. Any repair would be charged on top of this. We were even willing to give this a go - despite the outrageous cost - but transpired the engineer is not even a Westin guy, just a regular electrical repairer.

Have decided to replace with Miele, which is what we should have installed from the outset. If you’re looking for a premium cooker hood, stick with brands like Miele who can back up the product with decent after sales and customer service.

No communication with our customer service department has been received since the last post. We have a record of a service visit being booked with a Westin engineer in January, and then cancelled by yourself before the arranged date. We have no record of any correspondence since this time.

Grease drips onto my induction

When I purchased a premium extractor hood, I expected help when things go wrong. The responses from Westin on my previous reviews demonstrate the lack of assistance I have received.

I had a Westin hood fitted in July, and it drips grease onto my induction hob. Constantly. Which is very unpleasant. I have now repurchased ducting from Westin, as the previous ducting wasn’t from them, to see if this will resolve the issue.

They have failed to offer an appropriate level of support for a premium product, and I have been left to try to resolve this issue, on my own and at my own cost. I wouldn’t purchase a Westin product again.

Westin Cooker Hob Centre Island

We have a Westin cooker hob which cost £2,500 and it is fantastic !!!
It comes with the central extraction port within the hob centre which worked normally until recent .
Rang Westin to explain there appeared to be for some reason no power to the extractor unit which was very quickly resolved within a matter of Weeks after a visit from one of their field engineers who was extremely courteous and polite.Superb quality hob and British made!!!

Westin Serna extractor hood…

Bought the Westin Serna extractor hood just 6 years ago and now appears to have packed up. For £1000 approx had expected better.
Motor not turning the fan.

Received your reply.

We have examined motor and bearings are on their way out.
Lubricated and now working but I fear won't last long.
Maybe you can restore my faith in your product by sending me free of charge a replacement spring that fits over the ducting flaps? Who should
I ask for?

A Great British Company

As a kitchen retailer I have worked with Westin for over 15 years. I know that if I have a difficult requirement or when a customer wants extraction that works better than anything else, I specify Westin.

Over the years I can only recall a couple of times when I've required a service call. These have always been resolved promptly & proffessionally.

This is a great British company, who I have used for extraction in my own personal kitchen.

Ordered a bespoke cooker hood at a cost…

Ordered a bespoke cooker hood at a cost of over £2500.00
Had trouble getting them to make good drawings and then when supplied it did not match the drawing or the specification
Asked for rear exhaust and though drawn as such it arrived as vertical extraction.
Was then told I could purchase 90 degree bending fittings to make it work, despite the drawing showing the bend in situ and the quote also stating it to be rear exhaust.
Very poor sales staff will never call you back if you leave messages and refuse to accept mistake even though they did accept the drawing and quote was correct stating rear extraction.
Final excuse "we never provide pipe bends and ducting even if we add them to drawing" but we will in future make it clear on drawings and quotes.
Guess my crystal ball was just not working when I read drawings and quotation.
So buyers beware you may not get what is drawn or quoted for.

Westin have only recently claimed this profile. Please accept our apologies for the lack of clarity in the technical drawing and quotation, and for your negative experience overall. You should indeed have been made aware that the 90 degree bend was a separate item that was not included in the quotation. Internal systems and standard practices were changed to reflect this issue in line with our commitment to provide the best possible customer service experience.

Would not recommend bespoke service

As we had quite a awkward space to fit an extractor to I booked a site visit for £288. Westin rep came out, took lots of notes and measurements and we agreed a design that would work.

However, the design that the Westin design team sent was totally different and didn't include several features I had asked about. Number of lights, position of lights, position of buttons were all not what was agreed.

Westin agreed a 50% discount on the site visit, but I decided to look elsewhere for an extractor rather than trust Westin to make one (at nearly £2k) after their failure to design according to our discussion. Site visit was effectively pointless.

Edit: They've also queried this review with Trust Pilot over 3 years after it was submitted. Make of that what you will.

Edit 2: And they've called me as soon as my phone number was submitted to trustpilot. Given the site visit was 2019 (over 3 years ago) I find it difficult to believe they have any motive other than attempting to remove a negative review.

The request was made through the correct channels for contact details to discuss your negative experience and learn from it. We are sorry that you were not at all happy with your experience, we always strive to provide exceptional customer service.
We understand that after discussion with the member of staff who carried out the site survey, when the proposed hood was drawn by the design team following the site survey, restrictions within the existing chimney area ultimately meant that the positioning and number of lights, and controls requested by you could not be achieved due to these directly affecting the positioning of the hood fixing points. The exact design requested would have meant that the extraction performance would have been compromised and the hood would have been extremely difficult to install.
Based on the site survey information gathered, the design team offered an alternative baseplate design that would provide ease of installation along with an effective fume catchment area in a relatively small hood footprint in a height restricted area. We understand that you did not want to compromise on design and decided to source extraction elsewhere.
We further apologise for any upset caused by contacting you in order for us to improve service where required.
