Not recommended - avoid
We approached this company to write our wills. We were given a plan to put our property into a Trust to protect our beneficiaries. We agreed to the contract that day, in the knowledge that there was a 14 day cooling off period if we changed our minds.
After some thought we felt uncomfortable with the plan and spoke to the advisor who was unable to answer our questions and reassure us. We subsequently saw a high street solicitor who did not agree that this was the best plan for us, so we cancelled the contract with Westlands, in writing, on day 7.
We were subsequently informed by Westlands that they would not issue a refund until after the 14 day period but that the money would be in my husband’s account by the 19th June.
It is now the 23rd and there is no sign of our refund. My husband has emailed them and I spoke to the director who has said that we will receive the refund ‘sometime this week’. This is disappointing as she had assured me that it would be paid into our account on the 19th June. The excuse for the delay was that she was on holiday.
We do not recommend this company. Avoid.
