Wilderness Travel’s Spirit of Ireland trip was simply magical. Every step from signing up to packing details were easy. The staff at Wilderness Travel was helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The trip guides were simply the best, by the end of the trip they felt like new best friends. Their knowledge, kindness, and talent handling all the details of our trip made our trip. We went fabulous places where crowds were not. We were presented with an amazing arc of history that brought us through the past into the present. The hiking was challenging and beautiful. The hotels and restaurants were all excellent. In fact, 5 stars is just not enough!

The local guides were knowledgeable, personable and showed us genuine Tanzanian hospitality.

We have traveled 4 times with WT, and several times with competitors. If they have a trip where we want to go, we choose WT. Their guides are uniformly good, their trips are well-planned, the office support is very good, and, for whatever reason, we find that they draw a consistently great group of fellow travelers.

Many of our trips have been centered around hiking and we've always felt the itineraries were well thought out and appropriately challenging.

I have traveled with Wilderness Travel (WT) a number of times. They are, simply, the best. From interactions with the Berkeley staff at the very beginning of planning a trip to the trip itinerary to the exceptional leaders, the WT experience is extraordinary. I’ve done cultural trips rated level 1 and hiking trips rated level 3; all have had incredible accommodations and have provided a wide range of experiences that would have been difficult, if not impossible, to arrange independently. The value received from traveling with WT leaders is incalculable. Their knowledge, insights, good humor and caring are what make a WT trip. I learn more, see more and experience more during a one week tour with WT than I would in two months of independent travel . . . and I’m good at and enjoy independent travel!

We traveled to the Galapagos for a 15-day cruise among the islands aboard the three-masted schooner "Mary Anne" . Everything about the trip was amazing. Wilderness Travel coordinated and arranged all details, which were flawless. They were also helpful in arranging additional stay for us prior to the group arrangements. They were always available to answer questions. Truly excellent!

Excellent organization, service, trips

Had 4 excellent trips and plan more in the future. We've had uniformly great guides. The itineraries hit our sweet spot of challenging hiking trips for a sufficient period of time to really experience an area, and combined where feasible with great cultural opportunities. The accommodations and meals are generally very nice, not opulent, but supports a very good value proposition. Staff are always very knowledgeable and helpful. Bottom line, a great company.

Fun, knowledgeable, experienced leaders showcase a variety of locations. On WT trips, we hike challenging trails, enjoy and learn about the culture of the area and eat/ drink fabulous food and beverages. Can’t go wrong with WT.
