No service delivery. Do not recommend
10 consultants. Some sharing online copy and past feedback. And still no Internet from the 9th December and each consultant does not have the history.
Waste of time, money. I have seen many complaints online and will be making a complaint to the
- ombudsman for paying for a service that has no delivery.
ARB- for advertisement that does not deliver.
Afrihost - ZERO service provision
Afrihost have been taking money from my mother, a pensioner, for two months, but are yet to provide ANY Internet service. They make her communicate via chat. Not great for someone in their late 70s, who types too slowly and keeps getting shut down 😡 She is burning through a fortune's worth of data from her Mobile provider, whilst paying for Afrihost's non service provision. They can't even figure out what's wrong, let alone fix it in a timely manner.
Horrendous
Absolute WORST service provider!!!!
Have not had internet for 8 days and it is still not fixed with a technician coming.
If you considering using them as an internet provider PLEASE DO NOT.
Victor! What a champ!!
Victor was an excellent help, the only agent to work endlessly to resolve my query
I’ve been struggling with connection…
I’ve been struggling with connection for my meetings and yet I have a 100mp line. All my work calls lag. It’s been 7 months now. When I ask for help I’m just asked to restart my router
Don't expect a speedy connection from…
Don't expect a speedy connection from Afrihost! Expect to wait a week or longer to be connected even though your Open sever fiber is up and running. Extremely incompetent service. Shocking.
Useless support staff that have no idea…
Useless support staff that have no idea what they are talking about. Each different one you speak to tells you a different story. Now suddenly my 'line' is no longer available after having had it for years, since the fibre network was laid down in our area and all this time with the same useless ISP, Afrihost. All I get is promises of callbacks that never happens. Afrihost should be ashamed of their blatant lies!
Really terrible service.
Really terrible service.. not from the agents on call. From Afrihost themselves. Been without fibre for more than a week.. call every evening for update.. always promised I'll be called back that night or next day. Never called back. Suddenly my account with metrofibre doesn't exist... After 2 years of paying afrihost and having active internet. Now need to reorder my account. Told for the last 2 days it will be reactivated that day. Still no fibre today. Spent so much on data to keep myself and my laptop connected.
Absolutely shocking service.
Absolutely shocking service.
Trying to reactivate my line and the Whatsapp means of communication use to be fast and efficient, now you wait a hour for a reply, this is unacceptable, and I will be moving to a new ISP.
Used to be great, now slow and useless service
Used to be great , have become totally rubbish. Have three lines with them right now and thinking of cancelling all. They are totally unable to do anything to help - it’s always that “the system” won’t let them. Recently my line was out and I was still paying for service and the operator had the audacity to tell me that I still paid for electricity during loadshedding which is both stupidly false and just an outrageous customer service analogy. Trying to see where else I can move my business!!
I have been a customer of Afrihost for…
I have been a customer of Afrihost for quite many years, I never thought I would have to write a complaint like this.
I never had the worst service from any service provider before. The last year 9 tickets are loaded, and 2 promises been made: 5 Sep 2022 ISP-872489
19 Sept 2022 ISP-889378
21 Sept 2022 ISP-889378
30 Sept 2022 ISP-901890
15 Feb 2023 ISP-1083222
24 Feb 2023 a promise made: I have logged a callback; client call back created successful 2023-02-24 11:15.05
4 June 2023 2nd promise made: Apologies I am requesting a technician.
26 July 2023 ISP-1262852
3 Sept 2023 ISP-1306929
26 Oct 2023 ISP-1367578 and ISP - 896800
That’s all the tickets been load , for what.
Nothing happens. Except I pay my bill, and use a internet café when I had a meeting because I can not rely on my useless internet that are supposed to be 500 up and 500 down
Afrihost blamed Vuma Tel, but no one fix the problem.
Do you expect me to just keep on paying my bill and shut up.
I spend R3400 on upgrading my routers, still the same problem
I WHANT REACTION. OR THIS LETTER WILL GO OUT ON EVERY POST I CAN PUT MY HANDS ON.

Today I ran into the most shocking…
Today I ran into the most shocking racial attack that I have ever had. I am not typically into feeling that someone is being racist but when you see the whole story for what it is you see a company that perhaps while pretending to be there for the people.
My white friend at 143 Harrington with his business Bring and Buy was able after taking to a supervisor able to put internet in his business through Afrihost. He had a bit of a struggle as he said but he managed to speak some sense into them and get the line up and running with them.
I am a black man in South Africa. I live in an apartment above International panel Shop , a business area like 143 Harrington, which by the way falls under one building. Even my neighbors upstairs have fiber and funny enough they white too.
I think one can see what is happening here. My conclusion is that black people are being shunned, attacked through this company. It is subtle but it makes no sense otherwise. They keep saying I am in a business area / address but what about my neighbor in the same building and my friend also in the same building?
I sure hope Afrihost can explain that to the Media in a way that makes sense because to me it just feels like I don’t deserve what the white man has because I am not the right color. I see even on the phone they seem to come across abrupt and not very friendly. Maybe my accent is not good enough.
I WANT THIS FIXED WHICH MEANS MY LINE INSTALLED OR I GO FURTHER!
Been with Afrihost for over 15 year, terrible customer service
I have been with Afrihost for over 15 year, both for my entire business, as well as all my family phones and internet. The products work well enough, much like many others, however the customer service has deteriorated over the years and is now maddening...
I have been trying to resolve a massive over billing issue for months now, had to deal with numerous customer service staff, none of whom can see the history or detail of the issue. Senior staff dont respond to emails for weeks...
Longing for the good old days when Afrihost was a small hungry disruptor in the industry... Now I'm looking for another one of those to move my accounts to.
The Client Support centre is absolutely…
The Client Support centre is absolutely amazing! They are extremely helpful and resolves queries speedily. Best service and product in South Africa. Thanks
Please do more ping tests for the 100th time. Worst ISP ever
Please do more ping tests for the 100th time while we sit on our assess and do nothing to resolve your internet problems. Don't have internet. Please continue restarting your router and fibre box and pray something happens.
After a month of back and forth emails. I am still with internet issues and you guys are not getting anything done. I am pretty sure the other reviews here are paid for or bots. Nobody in my complex with you guys have internet. Always you guys with non existent service. Might as well talk to a tree or a sign asking you to do more ping tests. Never get more support than that in any case.
Dissatisfied with lack of service
We have not had connectivity for 24hrs… no service, no explanation, no
apology
What didn’t go wrong
What didn’t go wrong? I have had nonstop issues with this company for a year. They took forever to connect my mothers fiber line and then after she died they now keep charging me for her fiber line despite me canceling it and sending her death certificate to the accounts department, it’s not that they didn’t receive the death certificate, they did. They “canceled” the line and I wasn’t charged for a month and then they took it upon themselves to randomly charge me the following month. My boyfriend and I moved in together and got a separate Wi-Fi line recollected to our new address and then they kept charging us for both lines (his old address and our current one) despite the relocation. We painstakingly managed to fix the issue and only he charged for our current fiber line until the following month when we were once again charged twice, we then, for the howmanyeth time “sorted out the issue” and then our Wi-Fi suddenly stops working because they CANCELLED THE WRONG LINE. We once again call them and “sort out the issue” only for them to then reconnect our current like and leave the old line connected as well resulting in yet another double charge. Months and month of battling this issue and then we get a call saying that the fiber team is outside our house to install the Wi-Fi, confused, we check afrihost clientzone only to find that they have started a new line on our account and the address of this account? Gqeberha. We are in Cape Town.
If I could give zero stars I would but I cannot so for you afrihost, one goddamn star.
Constant Connectivity issues
Horrible customer support and connection
Worst after sales service.
"Fully automated" yeah right
I’ve had a horrid time with Afrihost. Fibre relocation gone totally off track.
29 May: Contacted support to log fibre relocation. They can't do it I must do it on the portal. Which I then did.
15 June: Current owner of the house I'm moving to logged cancelation for 01 Aug with their current ISP, BuzyBuy.
22 June: I contacted Afrihost support, checked if relocation is all good, I was assured it's all automated, no action required from my side. lol
01 Aug: Moved house on the 1st of August. Plugged router into fibre and to my surprise it connected to the internet. I contacted Afrihost support, and they confirmed that I am connected to the previous owner’s line, not mine. Support agent logged request to Vumatel for circuit release.
04 Aug: I contacted Afrihost support, agent said Vumatel can’t action the release because there is an active service. I need to contact the previous owner. The owner is overseas and hard to get hold of, he was not charged this this month, so I disagree that the service is active. I was told Afrihost can’t do anything further, it is my problem now.
04 Aug: I called BuzyBuy and confirmed the previous owner cancelled their service with them.
21 Aug: Internet died. I contacted Afrihost support; they say the fibre service is still active. Agent confirmed there is nothing Afrihost can do I must talk to previous owner to get him to cancel, WHICH HE HAS.
Called BuzyBuy, they say it’s a simple process, I need to get my ISP (Afrihost) to log a cancelation on my behalf with proof of address to Vumatel. Unfortunately, BuzyBuy can’t do it for me as I already have an ISP that should be doing this.
Called Afrihost again, I explained what BuzyBuy said, this agent said they will do it for me. Service clearance was then logged with Vumatel.
23 Aug: I contacted Afrihost support for update, was told I must contact them tomorrow, as cancelation is schedule for the 24th.
24 Aug: I contacted Afrihost support, cancelation was processed, now a service activation gets logged.
25 Aug: Early morning I contacted Afrihost support, activation failed, NO REASON GIVEN WHY. New ticket logged to escalate.
25 Aug: Afternoon I contacted Afrihost support, reason for the failure is the line is not released. They have now logged a line release.
When will this nightmare end?
- Every time I contact Afrihost, I need to submit proof of address – can’t they just attach the dam thing to my profile?
- Most encounters with the agent they say they will get back to me, but they never do.
- Why was I reassured multiple times “don’t worry sir, it’s all automated”, what rubbish.
