Always late- even when you prebook. We booked hours in advance ans it was late, called Albatross 20 mins after it should have arrived and they said it would be at least another 15 mins. I don't understand how they can always be so late when you book hours in advance?!?
Excellent service on all fronts
I’ve had a few occasions to use Albatross Cars recently, all of which have been time critical. Albatross has been on time, every time.
The cars are really clean and the drivers were very helpful, competent drivers and interesting to talk to.
Prices were very reasonable and information, such as tracking the taxi, was very useful and easy to access
Scam alert…
Scam alert please be careful when using Albatross taxis. Booked a taxi with Albatross via their app this evening and used their promo code love offering 20% discount. It was a short journey and was quoted £4.80 arrived and my destination and checked my account which was showing 2 payments of £7.80 and 1 of £6.16 . Obviously a little confused so I rang Albatross only to be told that the £4.80 was only a quote and did not include waiting time at roundabouts or traffic lights ??. My return journey I used Uber a lot further journey and was told the journey was £16.90 and surprisingly I was charged £16.90.
Obviously I have deleted my Albatross app and certainly will not be using them again.

was a loyal customer of this company for several years and spent a significant amount of money using their services.
In August 2024, there was a disputed fare of £10.50. Instead of resolving this in a reasonable or proportionate way, the situation was escalated unnecessarily. I was contacted and told the matter would be taken further unless payment was made. To end the situation, I paid more than the original amount requested.
What made this particularly disappointing was the lack of professionalism and basic customer care. A long-standing customer should not be treated this way over such a small, historic amount.
As a single parent, this added unnecessary stress during an already difficult period. The way this was handled permanently changed my view of the company.
I have since stopped using their service entirely and switched to a competitor who offers clearer communication, fairer pricing, and significantly better customer service.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

Careless driver update
Still no reply from driver or albatross about the damage caused by driver to my wifes walker. Albatross take these self employed drivers on to work for them and take some of the cash so should also take some of the responsibility for the driver actions. They have the companies name on the side of their cars therefore representing albatross. Maybe the next step is to go down small claims court. Albatross are just not bothered.

Highly Recommend
I don’t often use Taxis as I drive but I was in need of transport to get me and my family to Gatwick Airport and then back 4 weeks later. I live in Derby so I regularly see Albatross Taxis about but I thought I would do my research and to read a couple of the negative reviews on here I did hesitate. What swayed me were personal recommendations by a couple of work colleagues and no disrespect to Google or Trip Advisor, the personal recommendation carries more weight. So I proceeded to request a quote via their website at about 11:30pm and I was emailed with a quote before midnight so that impressed me. The whole booking process was very smooth from obtaining the quote to making the booking. I did all this via email but there is the option to book via their App or by calling their call centre. As for the trip itself, absolutely faultless, the Driver was there 5 mins before pickup time and waited patiently, he offered to stop at the services if we required and was just a nice friendly chap. Same for the return journey picking us up from Gatwick, our flight was 30 mins early but they had tracked the flight and made sure the Taxi was there waiting for us which was a relief after a 7 hour flight from Dubai.
So for me, I was very impressed with Albatross from start to finish and highly recommend them.

I did not expect a taxi company to pick up and drop off a urine sample from my dads to the doctors, but they did! what an amazing service. i was able to pay remotely too (via text link)

Completely let down
Booked a car for the airport. Despite having written confirmation the taxi did not arrive and they had no record of the booking. As a result I have over £200 of airport car park fees. First time I’ve used this company, never again and I would strongly advise against using them

Very unhappy possibly ex - customer.would have rated them as…5 before
Until today I would have rated them as 5star, reliable, helpful and friendly.
This am booked a taxi to a dentist appointment, booked evening yesterday as I knew it was for a busy time, school time etc. 8 50am. Taxi booked for 8.20.
No taxi at that time, told very busy, schools and rain,
! 10 to15 minutes wait, still no taxi at 8.45!
Too late for appointment now appointment in Feb 2026!
What is the point of booking night before? Others calling in morning obviously given cars. Now a very unhappy customer/ excustomer?

Aweful company. Booked a taxi this morning and driver picked up a wrong person. Called 4 times and rep always hangs up on me as soon as they hear about my complaint. Just aweful. Never using this app again.

Very disappointed today with this taxi…
Very disappointed today with this taxi service. We have used them for many years! Today was school run and I booked a taxi for my children . I kindly requested that the driver drives into the school car park and drops my children safely at the reception area not needing to physically get out of the car ! The driver was very rude and behaved in a very aggressive manner. He refused to do this and was arguing about this while my children were sat in his car . Making them scared and upset. I told him that we have used this service many times for school and there has never been a problem in the past. After reminding him of his responsibility of getting his customers safely to their destination, he agreed to take them. Speaking in a very rude manner! My children were already running late otherwise I would have told him to leave! I think this service has gone very down hill over the past few months. They are employing very unprofessional staff.This was a matter of my children’s safety , I didn’t want them dropped on the main road as it is too busy. If they can’t prioritise a customers needs then clearly they shouldn’t be out on the streets as taxi drivers. I won’t be using Albatross taxis anymore! And have put in a complaint with the company themselves. I hope there will be a safer outcome for other customers.

I have sent a complaint in!!! My friend had just ordered me a taxi, I had no money so I asked my partner to meet me outside with a 20 pound note ( phone conversation in the car) I told him where it is was and to meet me outside. I gave the driver 20 pounds, and he gave me £2.10 change, which was change for a 10 pound note, I then said I gave you 20 pound note, he replied my bad! There's no way this was an honest mistake. He thought this girl is to drunk to count, she won't notice. Well I did, I've complained and written this review and I think this attitude is unprofessional.

Sick to my back teeth of this company using my drive to turn in. Despite several emails it is still happening. There is a massive turning circle to use- I worry about the competence of the driver if he is unable to use it. This needs to stop- it is rude and disrespectful.

Top notch taxi company
Top notch taxi company. Very polite drivers, always ask you which way you want to go. I have never experienced a delay with Albatross. The prices are about the same as any taxi these days. They were even willing to carry my dog. Thanks again!.
