I have used Amazon in other regions (like Amazon.com and Amazon.in), and unfortunately, the experience on Amazon.sa does not yet meet those global standards. After several transactions, I’ve noted several critical issues that local shoppers should be aware of:
Refund & Payment Rigidity: The refund process is slow. If a refund exceeds the promised window, it is often forced into the Amazon Pay balance rather than the original payment method. This balance cannot be withdrawn, essentially forcing you to spend your money back on the platform.
Product Authenticity (Supplements): This is my biggest concern. I ordered Optimum Nutrition (ON) Gainer and Whey, and both arrived without authenticity stickers or holograms. For health-related products, this lack of verification is unacceptable.
Returns & Tracking: The return tracking system is unreliable. I’ve experienced "ghosted" status updates where the tracking simply stops updating, making it difficult to know if a return is being processed.
Inaccurate Listings: Both perfumes (highly rated but poor performance) and shoes (sizing charts do not match the actual fit) have been disappointing.
Global Comparison: Compared to the US or Indian marketplaces, the logistics and customer protection policies here feel significantly less polished.
Additional Operational Issues:
No Return Option for Supplements: Despite the lack of authenticity markers, these supplements are marked as "non-returnable," leaving the customer stuck with unverified products.
Logistics & Manual Support: Orders are sometimes cancelled by Amazon themselves because they fail to assign the correct courier partner. Furthermore, the system feels manual; I have to call customer care for every single update because the app does not provide real-time information.

My order was cancelled by Amazon without any prior consultation or notification to me. This unilateral action is unacceptable and has caused significant inconvenience. I’m really disappointed with my experience with Amazon. I bought a coffee table last month, and it arrived broken during delivery. When I contacted them, they told me I need to return it to a cargo drop-off point. The problem is that the table is very heavy and I don’t even have a car to transport it.
It’s frustrating that there’s no easy way to communicate with them or speak to someone directly to resolve the issue. Because of this experience, I honestly wouldn’t recommend buying from Amazon again.

Purchased 3 iPhone 16 for my kids from amazon with a tradeoff of old phones.
Found out it was a rip off from their end by intentionally devaluating the old phones below the price agreed with amazon.
I told them I don't need the trade off and to just charge me the full amount of the new phones & forget the pickup of the old phones, but they said it's not possible and order will be cancelled as a new entry would be given by amazon by cancelling this order and making another new order with a different delivery date.
Then they charged me extra money for the two phones they miscalculated their value by decreasing the amount they pay but increasing the amount I pay to make up for the new value & at the same time, they offered me a gift credit voucher for each of the phones taken from me to make up for the extra amount they took.
After they took everything, they only gave me a quarter of the gift card amount agreed upon, thus making it a win-win situation for them only. To this day, I feel bad for the big scam from amazon or their rep who visited and would ward everyone to be careful in dealing with them.

amazon.sa is a lousy seller.
Twice i have purchased from amazon.sa as the seller of the product, and the order was cancelled on the delivery day. Upon checking the order status update, it shows the reason for the cancellation being that i refused the product which is a blatant lie. All other item from other sellers were delivered.
As a platform amazon is good, but as a seller amazon.sa is bad. I wish that some one from amazon.inc can read my review.
Furthermore when delivering a package, instead of putting all items in a single box they give you the items in individual wrapping. 10 spry cans individually packed makes it difficult to collect from the delivery person.
Amazon SA and The Courier Guy
I ordered from Amazon SA last night and received my goods from The Courier Guy at 10am today. Kudos to both companies 👏
Scamming you with changing prices, disappearing discounts
Amazon.sa is mainly just drop-shipped from China. I can get the same rubbish on Ali Express cheaper. They constantly change prices, literally every day. Mostly just to get attention because the changes are tiny and pointless. Other times the item you've selected suddenly doubles in price. Then. ther'es the disappearing discounts - this is totally underhand; they offer you 20%, you decide to buy something based on the discount, they say it "will be applied at checkout" but then, it's not applied. And too late, you've bought it full price. What a SCAM. If Amazon was a brick and mortar store, they'd be run out town. Their helpdesk is a joke. I spoke to one guy who was supposed to be crediting my account to compensate for an issue I encountered. When I didn't receive it, I asked and the next person said no, they weren't going to. And I had it in writing! Again, like the disappearing discounts, this is illegal and underhand. If they were a real shop, people would throw bricks through their windows.
PAID. NO DELIVERY. NO TRACKING. NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
I placed an order on Amazon.sa on December 11, 2025, and the payment was successfully completed.
Today is January 6, 2026 — over 26 days later — and I still have no delivery, no active tracking number, and no estimated delivery date.
The tracking page provides no real information, only a vague message saying I will be notified by email.
No email ever arrived. No updates. No transparency.
What makes this worse:
• ❌ No functional tracking
• ❌ No clear customer support option
• ❌ No way to report a missing or delayed shipment
• ❌ No explanation, no accountability
If an item is not available or cannot be shipped, it should not be listed for sale.
Taking payment without providing delivery, updates, or support is unacceptable, especially for a platform operating under the Amazon name.
This experience reflects poor logistics, lack of communication, and complete disregard for the customer.
I paid my money and received nothing in return.
This is not what customers expect — or deserve.
Incompetent customer care
Scheduled a Delivery to be sent to a Courrier guy locker because I wasn’t available on the day (Monday). It was delivered on Sunday which meant I had to pick up on Monday (36 hour window). I contacted Amazon customer service and told them. They assured me they’d been in touch with the Courrier guy and it would still be available the whole of Tuesday. I went to collect and it had been removed. Amazon made it my problem to contact Courrier guy to go collect at their hub 35kms away. Easily the worst customer care I’ve ever experienced

I will never order from Amazon South Africa again. Ordered a power washer from them on the 25th of December 2025 but when they delivered I received a Art Bag instead. Returned the bag & have been waiting for my power washer for a week now.
There is no communication & when we finally managed to get hold of someone to talk to was informed no stock but when I ordered there was stock. Lost out on a special & have to wait for my refund which might not happen if I go on their service thus far. Pathetic.
Wrong Item delivered but fixed after a chat
I initially had a very bad experience with my order (wrong item delivered and difficulty finding how to report it). It was extremely frustrating, and I even thought I had no way to get support.
However, once I finally managed to reach an Amazon representative via chat, the issue was handled quickly and professionally. The agent confirmed the mistake, approved the return, and immediately sent me a return label. I was also assured that the refund will be processed within a few days.
While the process to reach support could definitely be clearer and easier, I appreciate that Amazon did the right thing once I spoke with a person.

On August 21,2025 I ordered from Amazon.sa dove body wash 750 ml 4 bottles, it said that they delivered it handed to the security guard of the Accomodation I live but honestly o never receive. and they don’t have a number for the costumer complain. That makes the Amazon not a good way to order online it makes there company not legit.What o did I made the item return even not in my hand. It’s up to them to solve what they deed.

Bad Customer Service and Delivery
I ordered an item, which had a delivery date of the next day. The next day I received an email saying the product had been delivered even though it was not delivered. I contacted the courier who said they would get back to me. I then phoned amazon customer support and the man informed me that this sometimes happens and my product would probably be delivered in the next two days. I ordered the item because it had a delivery date of the next day. On the second day I phoned the courier again. They said it would now take 2 days to find my package. I phoned amazon again and the lady informed me that she would log a support call and it would now take 72 hours to track the parcel and then someone would contact me. At 18h15 the package was delivered and left with the security guard. The driver didn't even bother to call my cellphone to deliver the parcel directly to me. It has now been a week and no-one from the courier or amazon has phoned me to check that the parcel was indeed successfully delivered.

Amazon level has gone way down!!!! In less than one week I received a wrong product, and the second time my delivery was late, I received a message from Amazon at 11:30pm claiming they attempted a delivery but no one answered, which is a total lie!!! When I called customer service in the morning, the incompetent agent told me they will be there within an hour, it's been 12 hours and my delivery hasn't arrived!!!!!! There are other shopping websites, cheaper and better!!
Major trust issue — Amazon.sa failed to deliver the product I paid for
I placed my trust in Amazon.sa and purchased a high-performance laptop for professional use. The product was sold and shipped by Amazon, not a third party. However, I received a completely different and much lower-spec device.
I contacted Amazon.sa support multiple times and spent hours explaining the situation. All I asked for was a fair replacement with the same specifications. Unfortunately, they offered only a refund, despite the fact that the device I ordered is now out of stock and purchasing another with similar specs would cost three to four times more. I invested my full budget in this purchase based on Amazon’s reputation and did not expect this level of negligence.
This experience has caused major disruption to my work, and I’m left without a usable machine. I’ve also reported this to the Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia.
I hope Amazon takes this matter seriously and reconsiders how they handle cases like this. Buyers deserve better protection and fair solutions when the error is on Amazon’s side.
