They Really Respect their Staff
I was really impressed with Arun Estates from day one. The support and guidance was fantastic from everyone as soon as I arrived and now, one year on, it has only improved.
Arun really do respect their staff and do everything they can to bring out the best in them. The company culture is great – I've not worked for a company that genuinely cares about their staff as much as they do.
Reflections
It is poignant that in having worked for Arun Estates for almost 25 years, that I reflect on my time spent working here. I can honestly say that I would not work for any other estate agent.
The support they have given me throughout my career is second to none on both a personal and professional level.
They do genuinely care about putting customers first and whilst we are realistic enough to know we don't always get it right, we always strive to do our best and help in every way we can.
We are sent an anonymous staff survey every year which is listened to and acted upon in many different ways.
We are passionate about supporting the community and so many of us have done so many fund-raising events to raise money for children's charities and causes close to our hearts.
We are not perfect but in recognising this we are always looking to improve,
Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Had an interview with Claire for a Saturday viewing agent. Having read all the history of the company and how well they look after their staff, I was quite excited to apply for this role. I thought I did quite well considering this was my first interview in 10 years. I was told by Claire that I would be contacted over the weekend. The weekend went by with no contact so I waited 3 more days but still nothing.
As I had
I then decided to email HR to see what was going on and was told the vacancy was not available any more? I was naturally disappointed as I wanted the job but it wasnt really the reply I was looking for. Perhaps I was expecting a reply ' sorry you werent succesful this time etc etc'. I wanted to know the reasons so I texted Claire and asked for feedback as this was important to me. To date I have had no reply. So Claire I thought it was rude you didnt bother to.come back to me at all and very unprofessional. Its not easy finding a job nowadays snd this certainly doesnt help. Arun.Estates has not lived up to its reputation for me and I would hesitate to apply fpr a job with this company again.

Arun Estates Ltd - Wards - Etc.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I'd like to leave minus stars!
Pressured to use their contractor pre-let, Cost £3500 for work including paint white walls... white, apparently essential. (I now realise this was a particular shade of white, making it costly to use any other contractor for touch ups). Turned out to be poor work, damage, negligence, did not cover an outlet pipe when removing dishwasher (or inform us) causing water damage and wasted Gas when they left the heating on full for a month cost a further £1250.
Agent said nothing to do with them, then day before let told us a further £2100 required, all things we had asked about before. We decided to cancel at that point, so they ignored us and let them move in anyway writing an official letter saying we'd agreed to this extra work when we hadn't. That's £6850 before the tenants moved in and we haven't started on the fees yet...
What the £200 a month on Management gave us from then on was a very poor email forwarding service asking for more money for damage caused by the tenants.
Despite us providing scientific evidence and having lived there for 10 years, we were told to have part of our house may need to be demolished to uncover the cause because the tenants would not be honest about it. That would have cost £20,000 upwards.
Plus deliberately Blind Copying in a fake email address so they could use their own contractors despite us saying none of their staff or associates were allowed unsupervised in our property.
We were told Electrical Certificate not required, then when they realised we were no longer going to let, we were told we had to have the cert at the last minute when it was impossible to organise. We had to investigate ourselves to discover that is was not required for our current let which was ending.
And on, and on, either completely incompetent or incredibly deceitful and malicious, possibly a mix of both.
From 14 months we have ended up with less than a third of our mortgage covered and we haven't stopped spending on clearing up yet.
Tenants have now departed and even more obvious damage has been found and the Agents are still trying to cover up for them.
They have damaged a Bannister we were forced to install after only 3 months, we found our bedroom door in the garden behind the shed with chunks missing and a very poor replacement job, signs of breaking into front door, large items left behind, light fitting changed without permission, tree felled without permission, reluctantly paid for pond to be filled in which they prevented then totally messed with and ruined, and on and on.
We believe they are covering for the tenants in order to let them again and not disclose to the new landlord the damage caused!
They have not presented their file to the Ombudsman after nearly a month, stop replying to further complaints, and still blind copying the false email address... unbelievable.
This isn't even everything we've had to deal with.
Rotten to the core.
We will never let again so that's one less property available to rent. We realise it is only a few tenants who are like this, but it's our first experience, and it's been very costly and soul destroying.
AVOID THIS DISHONEST ORGANISATION!
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. I applied for a job with this company. The poor lady that interviewed me thought she was something else, i went for a trainee estate agent role.... even correcting her she still went on to interview me for a self employed sales executive. Paperwork and job completely messed up. She was very very rude. Thought so highly of herself but she didnt even get the right job in the interview. How my CV would make the job role she tried to give me I will never know. She is a very aggressive woman! Sour faced, could do with at least q smile!I'm happy she messed my interview up I couldnt cope with even working in the same place as her. You can tell she is very lonely. Makes me upset and pity her. Please DO NOT use this company. My best friend, parents and grandparents have also had such an awful experience with this company after with purchasing houses. AVOID CLAIRE

From day one we have had issues and Our needs haven't been met at all.
Paying full rent on a two bed property but only able to use one.
No communication from these guys or support. It's been a over a month and this issue is still not resolved and no advice or Info complete radio silence.
Property in poor condition from the start did not do a deep clean was in contract at the time, no one told us fridge was unsafe to use. Lack of communication between cleaning contractors and themselves so caught in the middle of a disagreement (unprofessional) and still no answer on the matter, fobbed off everytime we call.
Don't have faith in this agency at all
Never select this company as your…
Never select this company as your agency, they don't care about tenant needs and after contract, the only thing they consider is landlord needs and ignore all your requests.
I had the worse experience during my residency.
Cubitt and West are the best company if…
Cubitt and West are the best company if you are a tenant as they put your needs above those of the landlords who instruct them and pay fees. You don’t have to pay market rent as they don’t want to upset you and don’t worry about paying rent at all they won’t even chase it or tell the landlord they are not getting paid.
Better still if you keep breaking anything the landlord has to keep paying they don’t care if it’s the tenants fault they don’t care they just take fees off the landlords and don’t even check if the work is done that’s been charged.
They also won’t refund fees when they over charge or respond to any emails about this...
Do not use... absolutely pathetic and practically nonexistent
The only reason they have been given a 1 star is that I can apparently not give a zero. Their service is non-existent and when they do provide a service it is beyond pathetic. We have had a pipe from the bathroom upstairs that has broken essentially meaning that the bathroom cannot be properly used. This pipe issue has not been resolved IN A MONTH. Our boiler seems to have packed in today but is not covered by an emergency call out. I shudder to think how long it is going to take for this is to be resolved with this level of incompetency.
Thank you!
I’d like to thank Arun Estates Lettings Team for all of their help over the last 2 weeks. Just to put this all into context, I’ve never left a Trustpilot review ever before... However, due to the service received by Tony, Laura and Estelle at Arun Estates I felt obliged.
I started my quest to find a property in the local area, and was shown a handful of properties by Tony, who was quick off the mark to find the perfect property... It was only the 3rd house we’d seen, so it was surprising how thoroughly Tony listened to what my needs and requirements were (surprising because no one I’ve ever dealt with pays this much attention to detail).
Not only was Tony 100% on board, but his colleague Laura was also 100% on board, as she helped with the administration side of things and made the whole process slick and easy to follow.
Estelle helped with finishing touches, she arranged for a personalised card and a bottle of Prosecco to be put into the kitchen of the new property, which really did make me feel valued and important.
Not at any stage did I feel like I was being put through a process.
Well done!!!
arun estates who own ward and…
arun estates who own ward and partners.have now changed to wards.they are trying to shake off there terrible reputation.be aware these people are shocking .in all aspects
The score: Arun Estates 5 stars, Ward and Partners minus 10 (at most)
My son's job was relocated with very short notice so when he and his wife found a flat through Ward and Partners in Herne Bay available straight away they were very relieved. Unfortunately due to an error on the paperwork their application was rejected by the reference company and they were told that it would make them ineligible for any rental property in the area!!!! That left my son, daughter in law and 18 month old twins (the distracting cause of the error) under threat of homelessness. That seemed extremely harsh and completely ridiculous to me so at 10.30 pm I emailed the customer service department of Ward and Partners explaining what had happened and seeking clarification. At 9 the following morning I had a phone call from Ryan Wynn of Arun Estates, the parent company who had managed to contact my daughter in law even though I had asked a general question and not given any names. Ryan listened to the recorded phone call between the reference company and the Ward local office, found that incorrect advice had been given by the reference company and from then on made it his mission to sort things out for us. For 3 days with numerous phone calls, faxes, texts and scans Ryan dug his heels in and wouldn't take no for an answer. He even badgered the reference company's area manager who was on holiday in order to speed up the process. Due to Ryan's diligence everything was signed, sealed and delivered at 5.30 pm on the Thursday so that the more of 200 miles could go ahead on the Friday as planned. Ryan Wynn turned what was so close to a catastrophe into what seemed a happy ending .
Ward and Partners on the other hand have been the worst set of people it has been our misfortune to deal with, they don't answer phones, reply to emails (strangely our replies to their emails never arrive) or keep promises. Almost 2 months later the flat which had been advertised as 'ready immediately' is not complete. The garden which had been the main reason for renting is unsafe for the twins to play in, even though we've turfed it ourselves the builders have left chunks of broken concrete or smashed paving stones where a patio should be. There is no phone line and so no access to broadband or use of Sky (the subscription still has to be paid though). The agent supposedly in charge of our case is useless, when we complained one of the 'partners' made an appointment to come to the house but didn't turn up. When the visit was rescheduled she said she was shocked and that she would get everything sorted out within 10 days. 3 weeks and a number of chase up calls, emails etc. later my son took 2 days off work, my daughter in law and twins came to stay with me so that the builders could 'get everything done'. Instead of the promised team 1 man arrived with no instructions or knowledge of why he was there!!!!!
When you think the service can't get any worse, Ward and Partners prove it can.
