Servers running, network outages are almost non-existent (for many years). Great Cloud.

Servers almost never go down. They are easy to manage and to upgrade. I have the lowest cost servers, yet support will answer my questions quickly.

I have been with Atlantic for years. I would never consider using anybody else for my online server needs. You cannot do better than Atlantic.

I was recently running a cloud server on Atlantic.net. I had 3 TB of bandwidth included on my server. My server was the victim of some sort of DDoS attack, and I went over my bandwidth cap by about 1 TB. Normally, a TB of extra bandwidth is about $5 - $10 on other providers, but they wanted $27! I was not alerted to this bandwidth overage, I only noticed because I logged into my account. I contacted their billing department, and they told me "Upon review of your account, we see that your server had a TCP reflection attack. Unfortunately, this is due to your server not being properly secured from attacks and Atlantic.Net does not assume liability for such attacks". Their support offered no solution other than to just pay the overage. I don't see how this is my fault as I can't protect my server from DDoS attacks as I have no control over the network. Most providers have some sort of DDoS protection at the network level. I've had similar issues with other providers (namely Digital Ocean), and they agreed to waive the bandwidth fees as it was illegitimate traffic. I didn't expect them to totally waive the fees, but a reduction would be nice. This is a terrible way to treat a customer, especially when other providers would waive the bandwidth fees. I replied to their email on the same day, and I have yet to receive a reply 3 days later.

Edit (18/10/23): I received a response from support, and they agreed to provide a $20 credit to offset the bandwidth overages. Support was very understanding and helpful

Great provider, very stable & fast support

I've used Atlantic to host a VPS instance for ~10 years now, mainly to host my own domain (email, Nextcloud, minimal website for my son, etc). It's been flawless.

I particularly like how well thought out the cloud console is:
* Create and delete server instances at will (prorated charge only for the time it's active), or to scale up an existing one. I started off with 20GB, but as my family's cumulative email storage needs have increased I've upgraded from one tier to the next.
* Console access via VNC; basically if something goes wrong where you can't access the machine over the network this is a handy option to have.
* "Clean" IP addresses, not on any DNS blocklists (which cannot be said of all VPS hosts; looking at you, ServerPronto).
* Backup option, which has come in handy more than once. It's also dead easy to use: With this enabled you can "attach" a snapshot of your system from anytime within the last ~50 days or so as a separate volume, which you can then browser or copy files from.

My only gripe is that their "block storage" (cheap "virtual disk" detachable storage) is only available in their Florida location. Aside from the topological distance my main concern there is long-term resilience (hurricanes, rising water levels, etc). Oh, and Florida-based instances do not get IPv6 addresses(!).
