Please do not purchase warranty from this company. I purchased a car in January the salesman in the shop was lovely! No issues with him. However after around 2 months I started having issues with the car, I was advised to take it for a diagnostic which I did, I’ve had back and forth emails with the warranty company, it is now August and my issue has not been dealt with. I took my car to Vauxhall for the diagnostic and the mechanic stated the car had multiple faults including the break and timing belt. I wish I would had read the reviews before purchasing my car. If you use this company do not purchase the warranty, save your money for any future repairs. They will not assist you or pay or for any repairs it’s a con!

Bought a car off Big Motoring World in Sep 25 and went to the Leeds depot to view the car. When I arrived the reception asked a manager who was dealing with me and I quote "Don't know just give them to someone". Test drove the car and everything seemed fine so bought it. Minor issues : I was told it had Sat Nav (the nav card turned out to be missing) and they valeted the car which took an hour and it came back in worse condition (used some kind of cleaner that turned the trim white). Major issues: The cars timing belt tensioner started to fail in the Oct 25 which in their defence they booked me in to a AA rated garage. However the 'fix' failed and it reoccurred in Nov 25. This time Big Motoring Works techs said the noise was normal and part of the car. After some arguing they agreed to put it back in the garage where it was found the tensioner needed replacing. After this, the virtual dashboard started failing in Dec 25 with complete failure in Feb 26. They said and I quote" Don't take it to main dealer as it'll cost too much". The car spent Feb - May in and out of the garage trying various fixes that was done out of my own pocket as Big Motoring Worlds communication was poor or non-existant. The fault was finally rectified after taking it to VW main dealer. Big Motoring World did pay for some diagnostics and refunded my costs but only after sending a legal Letter Before Action and getting the CEO involved. Fast forward to Jul 26, 8 months after the timing belt tensioner issue and it's failed again. I've emailed Big Motoring World but basically been told that they aren't interested despite it being their repair that has failed.
I've had the car for 11 months and it's spent the majority of its time sat in the garage or on the drive waiting to go into the garage. . Once you give them your money they simply don't care, they only respond and take notice when you start legal action against them.
My experience isn't unique seems they have form for selling cars that have multiple issues and then make it as difficult as possible to get anything done to rectify it in the hope you get so frustrated you do it yourself.
Save yourself the hassle and buy somewhere else.

Warranty complaint
Please do not fall for purchasing a warranty through Big Motoring World.
Unfortunately, the all singing, all dancing warranty (warranty 2000) was missold to me when purchasing my car two years ago. It added £2000 to the car, and I've tried to claim three times and have been rejected each time. I may aswell have thrown the money away. My last issue is the air con not working. The warranty has a tick at the side stating it's covered, and when Ethan sold me the warranty, it was stated " this is the best cover you can get, it's the most covered warranty you'll find, anything that goes wrong with these parts are covered"
My air con repairs that are £600 to fix are apparently not covered as it is the condensor that's leaking, and it could have been caused by a foreign object whilst driving? Could have been, not definitely the reason? But, they will not pay.
I have been unable to claim anything through this warranty and have had numerous issues with the car since day one.
My only option was to speak to Big Motoring World direct, as surely they would help. How wrong was I. Apparently After Sales doesn't exist either!
After clearly being told, that they had to change warranty companies, as they were having too many complaints from customers, and do not use Warranty 2000 anymore, they still wouldn't help.
I stated that I genuinely believe I was missold this product and have wasted £2000. Still no help!
This is so disappointing from a company as big as Big Motoring World, and especially after feeling like it's been promised I couldn't go wrong buying the warranty.
I really don't want this car anymore, but feel nervous about changing it with anyone, as my trust has been abused, and although I fully understand, the company is about making money, there should also be some customer service too. Very upsetting!
Thank you for your reply. Just to confirm that I did already speak in person to the manager of Big Motoring World (Paul) who told me there was nothing they could do, even though I felt like I'd been missold the warranty. I did state that I would check with the Motoring ombudsman and he said that I needed to do what I felt was right.
I feel it's right to let others know what experience I have had.

Great sales experience, poor experience thereafter
Hamza our sales advisor was very pleasant and attentive. He answered all our questions and if he was unsure he asked. Was a nice experience.
Unfortunately everything that happened after Hamza was a disappointing experience. Waiting an hour for a finance advisor, waiting more than an hour for our handover, it was 2 hours after our appointment time when we finally drove away. On both ocassions, no communication in-between to tell us what was happening or apologies for delays. Sending unexpected text messages for payments when you are not necessarily looking at your phone all the time. Communication is key, all it takes is a little explanation of what's happening. If you are giving handover appointment times you should have all paperwork ready to go. You have a schedule of appointments you know the numbers coming in!
When we were there I had to chase for someone to see me but there were many others chasing contact too. If there was communication the experience would have been better but due to all the waiting around only slightly better.

I would be happy to change this review into a positive review if the refund for the warranty and the vehicle was issued ASAP.

Do not value customers…avoid!
Booked a test drive online and when we got there they had lost the car. They had the keys so it was clear the car hadn’t been driven away. We were left waiting for 25 minutes while they tried to find it, before they told us sorry no car and that was that. Every other customer around us were offered a drink from the bar in customer services, apart from us (but maybe that’s because they knew we wouldn’t be spending money as no car to buy!). It was a 45 minute journey there and back again wasted.
Willing to give them a second chance I rang customer services to request a call back from the manager at Leeds to ask them to let us know when they find the car. No such contact has been made, clearly don’t value our custom. I also found it strange that customer services wouldn’t speak to me without my address and email address, claiming it’s for GDPR. Never heard of a company refusing to even speak to a customer without them handing over their personal details…strange behaviour, avoid!!

Worth to visit
From the start to the finish everything went well. Staff were friendly and super helpfull with everything. Over the phone and in person too. If you are there i am sure you are going home with a car, plenty to choose from. Only one thing i wasn't told over the phone that they are not doing contacts after 8pm, even that they are open till 9. We arrived just before 8pm but luckily Sid our sales associate convinced the management to get it done. Thank you Sid for your kind help.

Be more cautious with what you get
I travelled from Oxford to Leeds to purchase a Nissan Qashqai costing 19k. This would have been my first car so I drove all the way up in a rental thinking if I liked the car, I’ll purchase it & return my rental.Saw the car,had some scratches which sales person said she’ll get it buffed which generated trust. Did test drive & I could hear some constant noise from one of the tyre (maybe back right) so asked the sales person to get it checked which she did & said it’s just rust due to car standing for months. From a customer buying a 19k car, they would atleast expect the rusting ,if it was, to be buffed before I do a test drive as I booked an appointment 3 days before & didn’t just walk in for viewing. As the sales girl assured me the mechanic will look into it, I still felt listened to so I went ahead & returned my rental car with a mindset I will take the car home same day. Then starts the real drama. I was offered 14.9% interest rate by Black horse & that was the only choice as they do not work with anyone else & do not accept any other outside credit agencies. So we had no option to get a better interest rate. With a 5k deposit, the EMI would be £323 per month with 3 month warranty. If I add 1,2,3 year warranty, it went up to £389 and 3 more products for scratch resistance, no dust/water damage to seats etc and don’t remember 1 more, the EMI would be £490. So basically £170 per month for extras if I took. The services alone were priced from £699-£2300 depending on what service you took (3 year warranty £2300, scratch resistance which would not cover existing scratch £799 etc) which is 2-4 times the market price. We used all our brains to make the deal work with the sales person being supportive and taking each our suggestions to the manager to check what best can be done. Some of the suggestions were if I take 2 year + scratch resistance, what best we can get etc. There was no proactiveness from the sales team but that is fine, I understand we need to see what best works for us. After 2 hours of this, the manager himself came and said this is best we can do: £378 with 2 year warranty which was still quite high from what we worked out from their website all because of higher rate of interest. So I and my wife discussed and thought the problem is rate of interest, we will fully pay the car and save the interest. The manager got shocked a litttle and literally said, so we won’t make any money on this as car is very low priced & all we can do is bring down 2 year warranty for you from £1895 to £1600 (£295 reduction in total for someone ready to pay £19k + extras). I showed him the market to tell him the car was not priced lower as we were getting same priced cars with lower mileage (everything else same model, year, features, etc) to which he said “but you are here and interested in this car and you have no means to go back so you have no other choice so let me know if you want to proceed or not”. We understood immediately that he thinks we would not walk away because we have no means to travel back from Leeds to Oxford so we would have to accept what he is giving. We then still convinced ourselves (maybe it was the emotions now and the tiredness with all the negotiations) but told him to buff off the 3 scratches the car has and get the noise checked as we definitely were hearing it (their sales person could not for I don’t know what reason) and we would have a deal. He bluntly said “Buy the warranty and get it checked outside, we will only wash the car and hand it over to you. My mechanic has checked and there is no noise”. This is where we lost it. The amount of ways we were trying to find to make it work and bringing it to the point where we stretched ourselves from paying 5k deposit to full price of the car £19k + £2.1k for warranty) to accept a car which we clearly can see there is some noise - who would pay that amount knowing there is something wrong with a car? I also offered to go with the mechanic for a test drive so he can hear it but they said no we will not check it any further and legit said it’s tyre noise. I am 30, had been driving my parents car + rental for last 10 years (atleast £100,00 miles) and I would know what the difference is between road noise and some defect (you cannot think that the customer is some fool).Once we heard that, we realised they are this cold when we are buying,God knows how they would be with the after sales service. We decided to walk off in this case. To me,I personally felt that even if a customer comes with £500 deposit, that is their hard earned money and should be treated with respect and not be considered a fool. And atleast follow the rule 1 of sales that if customer has raised some issue before purchase, get it checked for their satisfaction. The car was with them for last 4 months and they could have sold it but found their products to be more important than the sale. Btw, we did manage to still come back by train same day.

Check The Specification - Asking NOT enough
I purchased a car from this company last week specifically because I was repeatedly told it had Adaptive Cruise Control. In fact, this was the main feature we discussed throughout the sales process. The salesperson confirmed it to me on at least three separate occasions and even showed me a printed specification listing the feature. Based on those assurances, I paid an additional £129 to have the car transported from another branch.
The first time I drove the car on a motorway, I discovered it did not have Adaptive Cruise Control.
When I contacted the dealership, I was told it was my fault for not checking. I’m struggling to understand how I was expected to question the salesperson when I had been repeatedly assured the car had the feature. My test drive lasted around a mile and didn’t involve motorway driving, so I had no reason to doubt what I had been told.
I then raised the issue with the branch manager, (wont Name), who agreed that I had been given incorrect information. However, instead of resolving the issue, I was told to contact the company’s customer service team through the app and by email.
I did exactly that, immediately. Five days later, I had still received no response. I called on Tuesday and was promised a callback on Wednesday. When no one called, I rang again on Thursday and was promised another callback. Once again, nothing.
The lack of communication and customer service has been appalling. I purchased this car in good faith and have now been left chasing answers with no meaningful response.
The most frustrating part is that I paid around £2,000 more for this vehicle because I believed it included Adaptive Cruise Control. Had I known the truth, I could have bought a cheaper alternative and, if necessary, paid around £750 to have the feature added myself.
After spending more than £34,000 on a car, I expected honesty, accountability and decent customer service. Instead, I’ve experienced misleading sales information, poor communication and a complete lack of urgency in resolving a genuine complaint.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend buying from this company.

Very slow service
Picked up my car today. Although the service was fine my god It took forever. 2 and a half hours to take a payment and let me drive away at a not very busy time was very annoying. I'd also asked upon reservation for the car to be charged and it wasn't, left with pretty much enough charge to get to the nearest chargepoint which was very frustrating.

Leeds branch
Terrible experience at the Leeds branch of big motoring world. We paid £130 to get a car moved up to Leeds. Once it came up it seemed fine and we were happy to go through with the sale. we informed them that we didn’t want to take out their finance, and were left waiting for nearly 2 hours. After asking numerous staff there what was happening, we were eventually told that the reversing camera wasn’t working so we would have to come back at another time to collect the car once they had fixed the problem. A week went by, we called them twice and they couldn’t tell us anything on the phone and were told that someone would contact us, which they didn’t. on the third call, we were told that the car has gone to a Honda dealer as they couldn’t fix it. We were told it would be a few days. A week went back and we had no contact from them, so again called about three times before we got hold of someone who said the car was ready for us. So we went to collect, again when we got there we were again kept waiting for about 40 minutes before someone spoke to us. We were told that they would bring the car around to us. Waited for another 30 minutes before someone else came out to us and said that someone from finance would come and speak to us. After waiting for another 25 minutes a woman from finance came and told us that she couldn’t find the car and after a search, she informed us that it was still at the Honda garage. Getting very annoyed by this point we asked to speak to the manager. So another 15 minutes went by before a lady came out and gave us a very lame apology and said that she would contact Honda herself and let us know. She called two days later to say that the car couldn’t be fixed soon and they had to order a part which could take between a month and six to source. I believe that they didn’t want to take the car as we were not taking out any finance agreement with them. The only time we could get through to someone at any point to find out what was going on was when we called up sales and were put through to the receptionists. They were the only staff who were contactable. A truly horrible experience dealing with these this company and an awful lot of time wasted. . Really would not recommend this company to anyone.

Do Not Use BMW. They sell vehicles without checking them over. They are do care about compliance and they remove reviews.Martin Lewis/Watch Dog need to go a expose this company AGAIN.
The buying process was fine. I bought the vehicle on 15th of February a fault appeared straight away with the boot randomly opening. This progressed into the boot not opening at all unless using the key. I informed Big Motoring World (Big Assist) straight away and the issue is still not fixed 5 months after. It has been diagnosed but communication between Big Assist and the garage is shockingly bad. Big Assist have not responded to the issue and appear to hoping that I sort it myself. The garage they allocated is over 1 hour away and they have endless issues in getting the part but it feels like they are just fobbing us off. I went today (they confirmed they had the part the other week) to only be told that they have returned the part. If Big Assist would use any garage or pay for the repair then it would be a completely different review. Oddly the first garage they allocated the repair rejected the job which makes me think that was the first red flag.
I would not go back to big motoring world apart from to reject and return the sale under the Consumer Trading 2015.
UPDATE - After almost 5 months the repair has now been completed. The delays seemed to be due to a single member of staff at the 3rd party garage being disorganised and useless. We ended up visiting the 3rd party garage 3 times (not including the initial visit for diagnostics).
I have increased the review by 1 star purely because Charlotte was helping and probably getting the same staff member we were. Big Assist need to take a Bigger lead in their aftersales and warranty issues and not leave it up to the customer. I suspect that if Big Assist were constantly hounding the garage like we were then they would have got to the good members of staff at the 3rd party garage. Hopefully, the fault is now fixed but no real way to tell until I'm driving in rainy weather. However the fault was obvious because the switch had a hole in it where water was getting in.
UPDATE 28072026 - ANOTHER FAULT MAKING THE CAR UNDRIVABLE. THEY DO NOT QUALITY CHECK THE CARS THEY DONT ANSWER TO GDPR REQUEST EITHER AND MY previous review has disappeared
