I ordered decking and 10 2x4s. The quality was not great, a lot of the decking was split or warped. The delivery driver just dumped it off the truck at the side of the road.

Very bad quality very bad makes
Purchased two lengths of mini mesh in Sligo store in June 24. Charged €4.60 per length. Checked online price afterwards, it was €4.20! Then purchased a length in a local shop the following day, €1.20. What an utter ripoff Brooks Timber are.
its 2023 not 1980......
Shocking customer service and out right liars who cant seem to make a decision, i would suggest any other timber company out there over this mob.
I bought timber which was twisted. Half of goods were no good to build anything with it. Another half I had to straighten which was a lot of work. For any Velux parts they don’t do returns / exchanges explaining that it is a “special order” whatever it means. Lady at the counter was impolite and didn’t try to understand my point. Website is poor with no reviews (guess why). On the good note: They have pretty good delivery service and pretty good plumber parts area with ok selection.
How this company is still in business I just don't know.
I tried to place an order online but there doesn't appear to be a link to a credit/debit card payment site (I didn't try paypal, the other option). I tried to close the online account created for my order, but it is not possible to do so. The chatbot said that somebody will get back to me but they didn't.
I phoned their nearest branch the following day and was told that the non payment online had happened because I didn't live within 5 miles of their depot!
I recieved an email from their online team asking if I wanted to proceed with the order and I confirmed that I did. They then sent me a payment link which worked via paypal.
The following day, I received an email asking me to contact one of their sales reps. I did this and was told that they didn't usually deliver to my area and that the item was out of stock (despite them having their stock level on the website when I ordered). When I tried to give some feedback. I was told that it was above his pay grade and he hung up. I cancelled my order.
This company needs to
1 get its online payment system working.
2 allow purchases as a guest
3 enable one to close an account easily
4 ensure that its stock levels are accurate
5 Specify where it actually delivers to
6 train its operatives to deal with feedback and have a mechanisn whereby feedback can reach managerial level to effect improvment.
I've been purchasing building materials from the Sandyford shop. Staff is unfriendly and sometimes rude - they will make you wait for 10 min while having a non-work related chat between themselves. Very unreliable people - still waiting to get a call for a shower tray and it's been a couple of months. Sent an inquiry about a different issue to their customer care email - no response. Just stay away. Chadwicks or Screwfix much better options in Sandyford!
Bought some decking and pressure treat 3x2 today, the service was fantastic and these guys couldn’t be more helpful- thanks very much I highly recommend
I called this company today having visited this website for some info on buying timber. The agent I spoke to seemed very challenged by this; apart from rudely muttering something about how they only sell bulk amounts of timber, his response to my request was incomprehensible with him rattling on for ages about the kind of idiots he has to deal with etc and giving me advice as though I was some kind of novice. If you are a craftsman of any standing do not contact this company as it seems likely that you will receive the kind of insulting and uninformed nonsense that I have today.
