Sent Open Box with Missing Pieces - Delayed Job
Ordered tub drain w/brass tubing & trip lever Drain Assembly. Pieces of this assembly were in the box as if they were scaveged from other boxes. There was no packing. Just thrown in. Contractor came today to install and there were two pieces missing: Part C wedge gasket and another plastic gasket. This definitely was open box that had pieces taken out. I paid full price, not open box price. Can't install plumbing today, contractor will have to buy the extra gaskets to get job done. If you're in the supply business Ferguson, you should know better. Whoever packed this, knows it will stop the job. Inexcuable!
Stay away! Products arrive damaged
Ordered a bathtub online - delivered 3 weeks after, damaged. Rejected shipping. Called CS - nothing in stock, was suggested they fix the crack in the tub and install it... Unbelievable! Then I was talked into buying a more expensive tub - Ok, it looked good and had good features and was in stock. Arrived 3 weeks after - cracked in 3 places. I don't know if this is shipper they select, or items are sold damaged. Had to reject shipping again. Refunds takes forever to get! Now we're stuck with removed 2 mos ago tub, and no new tub to install. If you have someone doing construction work for you - ask your contractor if they use build.com. I think they sell discounted damaged stuff that your contractor installs and hides under a tile or something. Stay away!
TERRIBLE SERVICE
TERRIBLE SERVICE. the delivered the totally wrong items and then trying to call them it is a 45 minute wait on phone. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. BUY FROM A SMALL COMPANY YOU CAN VISIT. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I STILL HAVE NOT RECIEVED MY ORDER. I WISH I LOOKED AT THE REVEWS FIRST!
Order Delayed a Year for the 4th time by months
Order Delayed a Year. They continue to set delivery dates 2 months out then cancel that deliver date the day of the delivery only to put the next delivery date 2-4 more months out. They dont even have the item in stock and havent for some time but they continue to lie. They have no problem telling you the day before the delivery that the item is all set to ship, only to tell you it will be be delayed another 3 months the day after. It's a scam to sell items you do not have and cannot get due to that item no longer being manufactured.

I needed a new toilet for a home Reno project. I ordered one THREE TIMES through Build.com. all three times they lost it. How is that even possible? On the third order the "project specialist" did expedited shipping, and just like the other two orders, I never heard form the freight/shipping company. When I called them, they said they'd call me back and never did. Build.com seems to have no connection with the freight company at all/

Returns - Holding my $6,700 hostage
The problems started with Build.com when I tried to return flooring that was a different color than the sample I had received from the company. The sample of the flooring was a white white but the order I received was a dingy yellowish white. I have called multiple times to get my return shipping labels and instead of getting the issued resolved they just keep creating new return orders and cancelling my current return so they can push it out and not credit me for the $6,700 they owe me.
Needless to say I will never order from Build.com just on the basis of this experience. You take your chances of getting what you order and trying to return it could be a nightmare. It has cost me too much time on the phone. Next time I will order locally.

I have given a review based on purchase of a kitchen Island. Shipping company proceeded to rectify the problem. Today 4 people were sent by the shipping company and they helped to bring the Island Kitchen
into my home. I hired additional help and they worked
to bring the product in with ease. Grateful they made things right and I am happy with the Island. Just wish this would have taken first time around and not after the complaint. Grateful for the company acknowledging the complaint.
Stick with Amazon
I ordered three Swagelok door locks, two of which were damaged. I requested replacement parts, which they said they could do, but then two weeks later, said they could not, due to factory demand for those parts, they offered me a refund, which they never delivered. I'm tired of dealing with them and chalk it up to a bad learning experience.
I'm sticking with Amazon.

Wow, their sales people are efficient and nice. Then a third of the stuff we bought arrived broken.
I asked to cancel an order, which they said they would try, but then failed, but the order showed up with the new stuff I ordered when I called to cancel so they obviously didn't try hard enough.
Then try to return stuff and you'll get a few different stories and then they'll break out the bureaucratic mumbo jumbo to explain how bad they're going to stick it to you.

I’ve made a few purchases from Build.com and my experience has been superb. Evidently my taste is expensive though but their supply and quality is excellent. I will shop here again.
Ferguson buys back what you need to return for pennies to the dollar.
We ordered 2 American toilets and 2 toilet seats. We received the bottom part of the toilets and the tanks a week and a half later. We never received the toilet seats. We didn't need to use but one toilet, so I tried to return it and be refunded for the 2 seats that were never delivered. They wanted to charge us $150.00 for picking up the tank that we wanted to return and $75.00 for the bottom part. I decided to keep the whole thing instead and get a refund for the seats that they never ship to us. Buying from an outfit that has so strict and abusive rules for the return of wanted merchandise is not a good choice. This is the last time I buy from them.

Was gonna leave a comment about being billed twice and also receiving the wrong product, but after seeing how many others left a negative comment, what's the point.
do not order from this site - poor salesmanship ethics, no transparency
For the most part customer phone reps were polite, but everything else runs very suspiciously. We ordered track lights that were supposedly in stock. The first trouble was UPS could not deliver because of mislabeled address. Build Ferguson would not return calls or emails to rectify the delivery. When the order finally arrived we only received 5 of the 18 fixtures. We never got any communication of the lead time change, only after the package was already delivered. The excuse was they needed to fill a previous order ahead of ours but no one ever notified us ahead.
The confusion could have been easily avoided from the start, simply by being transparent about the ordering process.

Ordered some tile samples and picked out our favorite.
When we called back to order they explained there was a price increase since the 3 weeks it took to pick the tile took too long. Hmm... not great but we decided to go ahead and eat the extra .30 per sq. ft. since we liked the tile. The rep assured us that the tile was in stock and should arrive within a few days since we were only about 2 hours from their facility. Our rep put on the pressure and sent us a order/payment link that was good for 3 days only. We paid 3K immediately and patiently awaited for the tile to arrive. 8 days later we had heard nothing in regards to shipping details or any communication whatsoever.
When we called our rep today he said that the tile was out of stock. Why wouldn't they at least inform us ? Build.com never even started a refund of the 3K until we called in today. The rep said he thought we might like another tile. Yeah right. Not a great explanation for not processing a refund immediately. That's just horrible business and close to outright theft. Now they claim it will take 5 days to process the refund, 2 days longer than the 3 day link to pay for the tile !
After looking at allot of other negative reviews... I regret not reading them prior to ordering.
I cannot recommend build.com. Completely untrustworthy.
What a disfunctional website
What a disfunctional website. First, the item is in stock so I order the faucet from what started out as Ferguson Plumbing Supply, then the confirmation says 10 weeks to delivery! So I cancel get refund. Try Faucet.com site and still end up at Build.com. Order faucet July 2 for Ship Aug 20. Aug 19 I get email “item on backorder for shipping Sept 30”. I cancel request refund. Next day Aug 20 I receive notice item shipped! Now I have to return it as I went to plumbing supply store and purchased a faucet. This website is a total mess. But all the online plumbing places force you to use it! Find a real business with a building.

I had a poor experience with a third party carrier for Build.com after months long wait for backordered appliances which stalled my renovation project. I contacted the corporate office of Build.com. While the "on the ground" customer service had longer wait times, Venice Lombard and others on the corporate team demonstrated that they cared, followed up and were amazing! I had purchased tens of thousands of dollars before the incident for my renovation, and for other rentals. I have purchased many times since this very poor experience only because of the kindness, care and follow up of Venice and some others on the corporate team. Very impressive that this company would take customer service seriously and seek to rectify delivery issues and find solution. Thank you to the corporate team for turning a very negative experience around. I have continued to shop with both Build and Ferguson for this reason!
