Overpriced and poor caring

This hospital hides behind “policies” while exploiting patients and insurance coverage.
Charges are inflated far beyond reasonable standards, with no transparency or accountability.
Billing classifications are misleading and designed to confuse rather than clarify.
Patients are left feeling cheated instead of cared for.
If you value fairness and trust, avoid this place.

Was great in the past

Was great in the past, now it feels like 90% business and 10% care. I came in for a knee pain. I explained to the nurses at reception what my problem was. I said that I wanted x-ray. Instead they sent me to 2 different doctors, before a third doctor finally made x-ray. I had to pay for every doctor I met. I understand that the hospital must earn but when you do like this you will lose patients.

Terrible experience with Dr S @…

Terrible experience with Dr @ pain clinic.

Accused me of being a drug addict when I needed medication for pain and ADHD treatment. Sends me a nasty letter rather than trying to fix the problem.

Because he refused to get the medicine which was available in Thailand he ended up banning me from treatment. There's something very wrong with this doctor and by extension the hospital.

Beware...
This place is like 40 years behind in their thinking and medicine.

They'll give a kid halaparadol cos he loves life and has a bit of energy..🙏

God bless this country.

Excellent care

I recently had an accident in Thailand when travelling alone, and had surgery and a 7 night stay at Bumrungrad. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of the care I had there. The surgery was excellent and the aftercare brilliant. I was kept well-informed all the way through and given options at every step. Staff are highly qualified and very thorough. Nursing ratios are high. The food is excellent. It's mainly Thai but there are lots of choices and usually a western option. On my return to Australia, doctors were very happy with the surgery and the care I received. No, it's not cheap, but that's what travel insurance is for. It's a private hospital so you should expect to pay for it, and I think it's well worth it for the high quality of services received.

A Cautionary Tale Regarding Exorbitant Fees and Communication Failure

I feel compelled to share a serious experience from my recent visit to this hospital as a warning to other international patients.

I was charged over 41,000 THB for a consultation that lasted approximately 15 minutes.
The treatment included an incorrect prescription, which worsened my condition rather than improving it.

In subsequent discussions with the administration, they acknowledged a significant language barrier between myself and the doctor, which likely led to these clinical errors.
Despite presenting my situation—still ill and having incurred a substantial financial loss for ineffective treatment—my concerns were met with defensiveness rather than a constructive solution.

For travelers, especially those seeking serious and reliable medical care in Bangkok, I strongly recommend considering other reputable institutions.

This experience highlights the critical importance of transparent pricing and effective clinician-patient communication, standards which were not met here.

For medical and human services 5* but admin max 2*

For medical and human services, the hospital deserves 5 stars+, but for administration, 2 stars at best. The response to each request takes at least 48 hours. Communication between the hospital and the insurance company is also very poor. The hospital does not promptly follow up on preapprovals. Result: I am asked to pay the surgery fee of $ 10,000 upfront. Any polite and detailed complaint was never answered. Even for a customer with 100.000$ bills in a year, they do not answer. The full top admin management needs to be fired.

Ask mony for everything

So I had a kidney transplant at that hospital, where they don't care about the patient, they just want to make money. I paid 1,500,000 baht for myself and 700,000 for my wife, who was the donor. The operation lasted three hours. When I woke up, I had a catheter in which to pee. The procedure was completely normal, and they also put in a stent. Obviously, they knew that the catheter would be removed before I left, while the stent would be removed after five weeks. Guess what? They want to charge me for the catheter removal, which took place the day I left, and also for the stent removal. It's a real disgrace. My wife, despite staying within the terms of the contract, had to pay an extra 160,000 baht. A real disgrace. I hope no one goes to that hospital again.

C'est le meilleur hôpital de Thaïlande…

C'est le meilleur hôpital de Thaïlande et un des meilleurs en Asie du Sud-Est si ce n'est le meilleur.
Vous pouvez regarder sur leur site internet le profil des chirurgiens ou des docteurs qui ont tous fait une partie de leur cursus à l’étranger.
C'est un très bon hôpital, je le recommande.

No better Hospital

No better Hospital. This is one of the smoothest medical experiences ever. Care is superb. Expertise is among best in Asia. Would recommend this hospital to everyone. I have recommended to family to travel here to take care of major medical procedures. Better than anywhere else in the world that I have travelled.

One star removed for each of the…

One star removed for each of the horrible areas. Doctor was good, lab was good, nurse was good. Bumangrad needs to start work long on the “3 Ps” (Parking, Paying, Pharmacy) 2+ hours just waiting to pay and get pills. Unacceptable.

Avoid this place

Avoid this place. Extremely high charges for little efforts + unfriendly personell.

I just went there for a “consulting”.
1. Booking on the website was already a torture where I had to fill the same data 3 times, discussing with a chat bot and then fill it again.
2. When arriving I had to fill a lot of documents again, needed to go to another floor and come back. The hospital asks data about a patient that’s simply not supposed to be any of their business.
3. I went to a doctor. He upsold me immediately a CT scan, supposed to take place another day. I left the room after one minute. For this one minute “consulting” I got a bill of 2800 Baht.

I chose to go directly to another hospital for the treatment.

This Hospital Charge me over 40000bath for 15 minutes and the Dr. had trouble understanding me

Stay Away from this *Top Class Hospital*.
They charged me over 41000 baht for 15-minute treatments and a wrong prescription of medicine In dialogue with them they admit language barriers between me and the doctor. I get little frustrated since I am still sick and out of money after the visit They find me aggressive and no help or money back after I came to Bangkok to get professional help from them.
Why DO I use energy on this?
TO SAVE YOU FROM THE SAME BAD EXPERIENCE(including some money)
CHOOSE A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL 🚨
They flagged me for bad reviews, and I have documentation for everything…..

Menopause care- only go if you can see a specialist

I booked to see a menopause specialist and was referred to a woman doctor, Dr. Nahathai Paktinun. My main symptom is migraines, as well as a few others. On the way to the hospital my migraine got so bad I was admitted to emergency. The emergency care was 5 stars, they were amazing. This review is not for them. I was taken to see the doctor in the woman’s unit. She was cold, uncaring and unhelpful. She had no words of explanation or advice. She talked to me like I had nothing wrong and was an inconvenience to her. I do not go to the doctors often and had suffered with many symptoms. I was left crying in the waiting room. Only go here for menopause of you can see the ‘menopause specialist’ Dr Mayuree who was amazing with me in a previous visit.

Use it only for major/ridky procedures

The hospital has reputation for quality care, but it overcharges for medications and procedures. For example, they charged me 43,000 for a CT (CT scan at Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya cost 9,000). For 30 capsules of Duodart (0.5mg/0.4 mg) the hospital charged 9,730THB (price at Bangkok Hospital is 3,360. and at Bangkok Drugstore only 1,800THB)--a real rip-off. When I asked the price of a prescription drug, I was told the price depends on my nationality. (citizen of wealthy countries probably pay more). Also a friend who had to spend days in the hospital didn't think the service justified the price. I wouldn't patronize, unless I had to have a major/risky surgery.

Join the masses in the meat factory at Bumrungrad International Hospital was…

Bumrungrad International Hospital was once the best hospital in Bangkok. As a frequent user over the years my latest experience (Feb 24) was my final experience here for my annual medical checkup. You were but a number herded through with the masses and when it came time for the doctor consultation he has no time for your questions - just time to quickly run through how he had scored you and kick you out. I advise not to use this place anymore

Bumrungrad Hospital i Bangkok tager ikke ansvar !

Vær advaret !
Bumrungrad Hospital i Bangkok er et ellers velfungerende og tilsyneladende godt privat Hospital. Og ingen tvivl; de har dygtige læger og er rimeligt velfungerende.
Men de lever ikke op til internationale standarder så snart der er noget der er gået galt ! De tager ikke ansvar for fejl, og de erstatter ikke.
De er i forvejen dårlige til at informere ordentligt, og de kan ikke finde ud af at give tilbud ell ordentlige beregninger på div ydelser.
Så det er først når du ser regningen at prisen går op for dig.
Og de er meget tilbøjelige til at sende dig igennem alverdens dyre tests, som du ikke bliver informeret ordentligt om hvad går ud på, og som måske slet ikke er nødvendige. Og laver de fejl, ell glemmer noget, ell der mangler resultater fra tests ol, overcharger dig, og du kan ikke få nogen refunderinger ell kompensationer.
Blot så du er advaret !
Man skal selv være i kontrol, og klager præller af !!
