Bought three items in the last few months and Burstow were very accommodating, speedily packing the item, whilst I organised Royal Mail Special Delivery Collection. Items were received promptly and as described. Would purchase from Burstow and Hewitt again.

Untrustworthy. This auction house is working beneath a verneer of respectability.It has cheated me out of thousands of pounds.

I've used this auction house in the past, and have been very happy with the service. However, I've recently used them for a fragile lot, and whilst I understand that buyers are permitted to view, and handle lots prior to auction, I feel that insufficient care is taken to ensure no damage ensues. My lot did not sell, which is not a problem, but has come back to me with some damage to the items, and also seems to have some missing bits. I did bring this up at the time of collection, and felt that I was brushed off as a nuisance. I shall unfortunately not be using this house again.

Items as described and very reasonable price for delivery and items well packed. Staff seemed very friendly on the phone, great service will use again

Auctioned a Woodworm riddled item (so obvious it should have been destroyed).

Agreed a credit/credit note - never recieved.

When I chase they lie about payment, refuse to send a credit note.

Also had a negative experience with Burstow and Hewett Auctions in Battle Sussex.

I purchased a few items at their saleroom near the Station, Granary.

One was missing and although refunded for this I was given an odd story that they never had it at the auction room in the first place.

A friend of mine also had items missing when they bought jewellery here. Staff were not very interested in providing a satisfactory explanation of what happened.

Very disappointing service.

This is in regard to Burstow & Hewett Auctions at the Granary sale room in Battle, East Sussex.
Very poor experience here on several occasions.
Had some good sales in the past, but no longer a great auction as it was.
I have been going for many years on and off, but now there are too many bad and annoying experiences with lots missing items after the auction or lots that have been mis-described.
Poor customer service, excuses and a brush off, rather than trying to resolve issues amicably, and if you push matters they state they do not care and can do no more.
They also used to employ a person who told people get out of his way by telling them to 'F off', if you were unfortunate enough to stand in the wrong place whilst collecting after a sale and he was loading vans, he has now gone though.
