We raised a concern as parents regarding our three-year-old daughter's intimate personal care. Our request was initially acknowledged and accepted, only for that position to later be reversed.

We were then told that our request was considered "discriminatory under the law". When we asked for clarification of the specific law or legal provision being relied upon, this was not provided in the subsequent review response.

As parents, we were very disappointed with how our concern was handled and ultimately lost confidence in the nursery as a result.

I would encourage other parents to consider whether they feel their own concerns and wishes regarding their child's personal care would be listened to and handled appropriately.

This review relates solely to our experience of how the matter was handled by the nursery and management.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, given that today was our daughter’s last day at Busy Bees Camberley before she moves to a new nursery next week.

Ultimately, our decision to move her was made after reading the initial Ofsted report. As parents, we naturally want to make sure we are providing the best possible care for our daughter, and we also had concerns about what the future might hold for the centre, including the possibility of funding issues or closure. Given the circumstances outlined in the report and the uncertainty surrounding them, we felt it was best to be proactive and secure another place for her.

However, from our personal experience, I genuinely cannot fault the centre or the majority of the staff we have dealt with.

When our daughter first started, she would cry whenever we dropped her off and struggled to eat or sleep at nursery. Over the six months she has been there, we have seen such a huge change in her. She is now far more comfortable and settled, and we can leave her at nursery knowing that she is happy and excited to be there. She has also become particularly comfortable with Lucy, which has been lovely to see.

We regularly received updates from the nursery throughout the day, which gave us reassurance and allowed us to see how she was getting on and how happy she was. We have also seen the impact nursery has had on her development at home — from wanting to feed herself to talking much more and becoming increasingly independent.

Personally, I cannot thank Lucy, Jamine L and the rest of the team enough for the care and kindness they have shown our daughter. There is a real sense of regret that we may have made the decision to move her a little too hastily in light of the concerns raised by the Ofsted report. Of course, as parents, we felt we had to make the decision we believed was right for our daughter at the time.

I know there has been some negative press and many strong reactions following the news of the Ofsted report. However, I can only speak from our own experience, and that experience has honestly been nothing but positive.

As I write this on our daughter’s final day, I genuinely do have a heavy heart. I want Lucy and the whole team to know just how much we have appreciated the care, support and affection they have given our daughter during the six months she has been there.

Thank you for everything. We will genuinely miss you all.

Our son was made to feel so welcome and he was very happy from day one! Lots of things and activities to spark his imagination, and he really enjoyed eating the wonderful food.

I feel very slightly less confident so far with staff communication in the room she has recently moved to which is is probably due to receiving fewer updates during the day via the app. The nursery is in need of an update which is currently underway. Everyone is very friendly, caring towards my child and she gets access to a variety of activities including messy play. There is a broad variety of meals for her to try. Their policies always seem pretty reasonable. My interactions with management always feel productive. I have no concerns about my child attending as it seems they enjoy the days there thoroughly

Exceptional. My twins absolutely love Busy Bees. The staff are brilliant. So caring, kind and genuinely want your children to be happy. My boys are thriving and they have come on so much since starting when they were 1.
The experience the girls have means they can provide the care each individual child needs.
I have recommended busy bees to others and will continue to do so.

Both of my children attend the setting and they get the best care, love and attention from all the staff. Their needs are met everyday, the nursery is very safe and secure and the staff are very well trained. The nursery its self has had a refurbishment and it looks stunning, the children are so happy and engaged. Also as a parent the staff really listen to your needs and give you the best support you need for themselves and the children. The management team are fantastic and the strive to have the best nursery in the area

Nursery closed with only 6 weeks notice given, despite taking on new staff and kids right up to the week before.

Thank you to Jo, Rae, and the whole team for helping settle my little one particularly as I was so anxious and upset about having to return to work earlier this year. The team at Cheam Park are a credit to the business, they have been our rock and have done/are doing such a brilliant job. Busy Bees, please recognise the Cheam Park branch for their fantastic care.

The staff are what make this nursery a loving, nurturing environment for any little one. They all care deeply, they are all polite and enthusiastic to all the little ones every single day, every single moment.

The app functionality is great, they update every day and mention any little milestones.

Food is such good quality and freshly prepared onsite.

Our 4-year-old was happy to go and return every day. We could tell they were very supportive and he was having a good time. We also noticed how he grew in confidence. His little sister will start there soon; it is a relief to count on a safe, happy place for her.

My son started Busy bees Eastbourne 5 months ago and has settled in amazingly. All the staff have been amazing with him. They all welcome him with a big smile and open arms. I can see his confidence has really grown. I love receiving the updates and photos of his day. Gives me a lot of reassurance as a first time mum.

We’ve had a really positive experience with Busy Bees East Keswick. Our little boy absolutely loves the staff at the nursery and has built such a lovely relationships there.
The team are warm, caring and supportive, and it’s clear how much they genuinely care about the children’s development and emotional growth. They’ve been particularly helpful with toilet training, which has been a challenging area for him at nursery. The staff have been patient, encouraging and worked with us to support him, which we’ve really appreciated.
Most importantly, he is happy when there. We’re really pleased with the care and support he receives and would happily recommend Busy Bees East Keswick to other parents.

Both the management team and the staff are working hard to provide excellent care to every child in three different age groups in East village Stratford London branch! My daughter really enjoyed her time there for the last 18 months.

Such wonderful staff, made our daughter feel safe and supported and can’t recommend them enough!

Amazing team and amazing space, they’re always up to loads of activity’s and send regular updates on the app. Their team are so friendly warm and welcoming. I chose them because I love their garden and I’m so glad I did. They really have treated us like family and have gone above and beyond.

This nursery has really gone downhill. Staff in the baby room were innattentive and generally seemed like they didn't want to be there. I don't believe there was any enrichment happening, it simply felt like a holding cell until they were reunited with their parents. Staff also joked about some of the babies being too clingy and how this was annoying for them. And this was all from when I was present, I dread to think about when there's not a parent in the room.

We absolutely loved our time at Busy Bees. Everyone was so lovely, caring and professional, and I always felt completely at ease leaving my daughter there. She was always so happy to go in, and it was lovely to see how much she learned and developed while having fun. The whole team, including the manager and admin staff, were fantastic. I couldn’t recommend Busy Bees enough!

We couldn’t be happier with Busy Bees Wigan and the care our boys receive there. They absolutely love going to nursery, and it’s been amazing to see how much they have developed since starting. They are constantly learning new things, gaining confidence and developing new skills every week.
The staff are fantastic and genuinely care about the children. A special thank you to Jess, Keira, Karen and Nicola, who take such great care of our boys. They always make us feel reassured that our children are happy, safe and well looked after.
