Really can't fault the plummer, Joe who did an amazing job and was both cheerful and tidy!
Jake & Brad the electricians from John's team were brilliant too.
The heat pump system is much better than I was expecting and it all works well.
Due to some staffing issues and time of year, there was a delay in getting the electrical side done, but I can't complain because they dealt with it so well and I felt the whole team did all they could to get someone out to me asap and all apologised for the delay.

Originally ordered in August 2025 but due to several unplanned circumstances my heat pump was eventually fitted this week. Throughout the process I've been kept up to date by Phoebe Matthews and Hayley Dare so they were really helpful. The installation went fairly smoothly with Aaron and TJay (installers) and Simon (electrician) doing a grand job and leaving the place as they found it. A snag with the flow was initially detected however, this was rectified in short order so now I'm up and running. An overall good experience for the fitting with minimal disruption and a good and friendly team. BZ

The heat pump installation was completed on 2nd April. Hayley Dare, as our liaison kept us informed throughout the installation of the heat pump, from the outset to completion. The installers were polite and efficient. There were a couple of short delays due to delivery of incorrect or missing parts. The heat pump is
up and running and is performing well.

Sound design and swift installation

I had an assessment carried out for a heat pump installation with EDF Heat Pumps. Initially, the survey identified issues with the proposed system design, particularly regarding the cylinder placement and required changes to the system specification.

I was advised that a member of the design team would contact me within 24 hours to progress options. This did not happen.

Over the following two weeks, I made multiple attempts to obtain updates and move the process forward, but communication was poor and I did not receive any meaningful follow-up or clear design solution.

During this time, I was also told the system may require a higher output boiler, which I understood and was willing to proceed with. However, there appeared to be confusion internally, and my position was later misinterpreted as requesting discounts or pricing changes, which was not the case. My concern was always related to feasibility and installation design.

I also found the handling of communication during phone calls to be poor and at times dismissive.

Ultimately, due to the lack of progress, lack of communication, and inability to resolve the design issues in a timely way, I felt I had no option but to step away from the process.

I would still have been willing to proceed with the installation had the design issues been properly addressed and communicated.

Overall, my experience was disappointing, mainly due to poor follow-up and lack of coordination between teams.

I contacted EDF in late February about a heat pump because my gas boiler had cease to work. From the very onset, I had a fantastic experience dealing with CB Heating on behalf of EDF. They installed and commissioned my new heat pump system within 5/weeks of me contacting them. I would like to give shoutouts to Nick, Sr Sales Advisor who guided me through the whole process, Ramya who expedited my installation and Stephen my customer liaison. Lastly, the installers led by Mark Cranmer and his highly professional team who completed the installation 3 days ahead of schedule. I would definitely recommend (EDF) CB Heating for purchasing a heat pump.

Initially the install subcontractor wanted to delay the Air Source Heat Pump Installation but EDF arranged for an alternative subcontractor Terry J Manual Plumbing and Heating to do the install instead. This proceeded as planned and was successfully completed in only 4 days, despite it being quite a larger installation with some added difficulties. Both Terry and his fellow worker Zak were punctual, very professional, courteous and also cleaned up after themselves. The also fully explained the operation of the new system, and left me their business card in case of any queries later on. Haley Dare the installation liaison person from EDF also phoned everyday to check on the progress of the installation and that we were happy with everything. Overall an excellent result with which we are very happy.

Heat Pump Installation. Ashley Kinrade and Kris Malone have just completed the installation and commissioning of our new Heat Pump. They were very helpful, totally professional and demonstrated a high level of technical knowledge and workmanship.

John and Josh from The Green Partnership were contracted to do the installation. Both were professional, kind, thorough and considerate throughout the work, despite deliveries being incorrect and communication with Ukem being spotty at best. Mainly a question of 'too many cooks and too few chefs' . Nevertheless, the install was completed in good time and the end result is excellent. Level of efficiency will take time to assess. Thank you for all your hard work.

What a great experience from planning to install, the whole project went very well. We even got a post visit from Sam who came to make sure everything went as planned.

CB heating (CBH) undertook the removal of an oil-fired boiler and installation of a ASHP and radiators as part of the government Eco Grant Scheme. First and foremost, CB heating did not use their own engineers – they subcontracted to a 'local plumber'. The plumber who did my install had never done a ASHP before and this was his first job for them. The install plan was based on phone pictures taken by another contractor; there was not a single visit or physical measurements taken from any CBH employee at any time. CBH order the parts and the contractor does the install. Issues faced 1. No radiators ordered 2. Radiators when finally ordered were wrong size. 3. Contractor only here for week and radiators delivered after the week, so they had to return 2 weeks later as they had another job. 4. Radiators install plan atrocious with no consideration to other factors and purely based on heat calcs e.g. radiator planned to be fitted on door access to eves, radiator in front room could not fit under window, radiator in bathroom meant I could not sit on loo. I ended up re-allocating the radiators to ensure it worked. Electrical connections were also missing meaning I went to Screwfix at 2100 to buy them myself so I could have a shower 4 days into the install. By this point I stunk! Change was difficult to manage as the contractor could not work outside the plan without authorisation from the CBH engineer so it was waiting on phone calls and emails which were sometimes delayed. The radiators needed to have smart rads fitted which did not arrive till a few weeks later and when the engineer arrived, they did not have enough. I am still waiting on the last 2 (writing this in March)! Lastly the heat pump ices slightly in the cold (this is normal) but when it melts it gathers in a puddle on the path which becomes a slip hazard in the cold. I have asked about what they can do and I am still waiting on an answer 2 months later. At no point has anyone from CBH come to the property to review the work. In short, logistics terrible, after care needs a lot of work, had to take 5 days off work at various times to accommodate various deliveries and visits. Not a great experience. There are more issues such as whole cylinder had to be replaced by manufacturer, heat pump set up incorrectly, faulty receiver. but there isn’t enough space in the box! Overall I sometimes felt like a second class citizen because the install was paid via grant rather then directly from me. As such I did not feel like I had any ability to hold them to account. On the plus the contractor worked tirelessly despite the lack of support. I am a Marine Engineer by trade so had some level of understanding, if this work had been carried out for someone less able or who lacked technical experience then I do not know how they would have coped.

I was impressed by the support provided by EDF right from my initial enquiry regarding the installation of my Heat Pump through to the installation progress monitoring and post installation feedback provided by Hayley Dare.

The installer Terry White being a very experienced and competent Heat Pump installer, adopted a very methodical approach to the installation, keeping me informed of the progress of the job. Any issues arising during the installation were dealt with Terry to my satisfaction.
Overall I am very satisfied with the whole process from initial enquiry to EDF and the completion of the job.

I am thrilled with our new air source heat pump installation by EDF Heat pumps. From the initial survey, the team was professional and thorough, conducting a detailed heat loss calculation to ensure the system was right for our home. Great team from start to completion . The fitters Bradley shelts and Myles were prompt professional and tidied up every day . The quality of their work is exceptional. Our coordinator Stephen Hayward was helpful and kept us informed of all changes throughout the project.

Everything worked efficiently from my initial enquiry through to the site visit and the installation of my heat pump. The contractor was friendly and considerate, ensuring that everything was cleaned and tidy at the end of each day‘s work. I feel that I made a very good decision in turning to EDF
for this project.

Proceed with caution

The sales people at CB Heating are great - but it falls off a cliff once you put down a deposit.

They use a ‘bait and switch’ approach to sizing your heat pump. We needed a big unit as we have a large house and the current 16kW unit was not doing what it needed to. They told us we would be fine with a 14kW unit. We were spun a yarn about how much more efficient it was, and how the app was so fantastic it would basically run itself. They had the age of our properly and the floor plan and even after we questioned this we were assured it was correct. So we paid a deposit for that amount. 4 weeks later we have a heat loss survey, 5 weeks after that (with me constantly chasing for the design doc) we get an invoice that it’s £2000 more than we’d agreed. It turns out we needed a 22kW unit due to the heat loss of our house. Now while I don’t disagree that we need a big unit, I was very annoyed to find that their recommendation was wildly unsuitable, that it would cost £2k more than agreed, and they never actually told us this, they just sent a bill. I also had to make calls and send several emails because they kept getting the final invoice wrong.

The install didn’t happen until 1st week Jan and it was chaotic. None of the items had arrived when the installer did (side note, the installer was excellent, we have no issue with him) and when things did arrive they were broken or incorrect. This caused delays and at least two days where the installer was unable to do any work. They had also not provided new thermostats, even after we’d repeatedly told them we didn’t have enough control over our heating and that the system we’d inherited with the house was antiquated. I had to fight for those to be included in the installation.

I complained about the poor customer experience and after chasing for a reply, I was told that their contract states that the installation can take ages, and I could have cancelled at any time after receiving a higher quote. From our first engagement with them to the design doc being provided was 14 weeks. We had told them that this was being done in conjunction with other work in our house so we had a strict deadline. There wasn’t much choice for us based on how much time we’d sunk with them. In my view they didn't take the complaint seriously or provide any sort of apology for the poor experience.

If you are about to use CB Heating for your upcoming heat pump, I’d think twice.

As part of our recent house refurbishment, we decided to move from a gas boiler to a heat pump to benefit from better energy efficiency, lower running costs, reduced carbon emissions, and to future-proof our home.

From the first visit, the whole process through EDF and their installation partner CB Heating was excellent. They carried out a detailed assessment of the property and designed a system tailored to our home, which gave us real confidence in the decision. What initially felt like a big and slightly daunting change was made easy because everything was explained clearly and we always knew what to expect.

Sylvia was our main point of contact throughout and she was fantastic — always in touch, keeping us in the loop with regular updates via phone and email, and making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

The installation itself was completed last week in just three days, which was very impressive. Braydon Mayne was the installer and his work was professional, neat, and carried out to a very high standard with great attention to detail.

We are extremely happy with the end result and the overall experience from design through to completion.

I would highly recommend EDF and CB Heating to anyone considering upgrading to a heat pump.
