Cannot recommend highly enough!

Laptop unceremoniously died on Friday. Called and got it booked in for the Monday. Got an update on Tuesday, and had all my recovered data back by Wednesday.

Central Computers were efficient, communicative, and made a very stressful situation as painless as possible. I'm so happy with the results and have nothing but glowing praise for the service. I'll turn here the next time I have a tech emergency, for sure. Heather is an absolute rockstar as far as I'm concerned!

I had a problem(s) they solved it

I have been a customer of Central Computers for about 18 years, always used them.
Had a printer connection and Wi Fi problem normally I could solve but not this one. Heather made two visits solved Wi Fi and a second visit for LAN connection. I left her alone while she worked (very hard for me!) on the system. Asked her to explain to me what the problem was. She did in a way my 76 year old brain could nearly understand.
My wife has Parkinson's and dementia and Heather was understanding as she suddenly walked in on her as she was working.

A non-tech individual's experience of Central Computers

I am a definitely not-tech person who has used Central Computers over many years and particularly in the last 3/4 years.
In the whole of that time I have found Central Computers to be unfailingly helpful and supportive. Any query or issue that has arisen with my PC has been dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Earlier this year Central Computers supplied me with a new PC using Windows 11. The whole process was completed within 3 days including the transfer of all my data. Heather provided all the instruction and support I needed when first using the new PC.
Heather is extremely competent and is always prepared to explain clearly and patiently what Central Computers are doing in respect of any issue that I ask them to deal with.
Central Computers' customer service standards are very high. They respond quickly to any query and are extremely reliable.
Central Computers' charges are extremely reasonable.
In summary, I have never had a bad experience with Central Computers and would unfailingly recommend them.

Excellent, Professional Company

If you’re looking for a company who can not only build computers (amongst their many IT related talents) but ensure all your precious data is transferred in a safe and organised manner, then look no further.
This is the first time I have used Central Computers and I undertook a lot of Due Diligence before trusting them with my data. Even though they were not the most local company, the way they answered all my questions gave me confidence. They did not disappoint and Heather who was my main point of contact, has been excellent, keeping me up to date with their progress and answering any questions quickly along the way.
If you don’t fully understand computers, (I don’t!) they provide a human touch and make the daunting or unknown become clear and understandable. Their prices are fair, and their services are bespoke. Their Unique Selling Point (USP) is personalisation - not only building you a computer but setting it up from the get-go. Don’t struggle……. contact Central Computers!

Lovely people delivering an excellent service.

I have just bought my third laptop from Central Computers. They explain everything in a way a non-expert can understand and set out the options clearly. For the first time, I used the data transfer service and that removed a lot of stress in getting my new machine up and running. They are always happy to answer questions over the phone when they can and with a lot of patience.

I have been a long time user of Central…

I have been a long time user of Central Computers (over 15 years) and have always relied on them to fix any problems that I have had with my computers. They have never failed me :) retrieving folders and data that I thought were lost for good and giving good advice on how to protect my computer, all at a reasonable and fair cost. Thank you

Heather was so helpful & knowledgeable. Unfortunately my old lap top could not be saved but she sorted me a new one & transferred all of my old data in a couple of days. It was so easy. This was my first time using central computers but I was so happy I chose them. I would defiantly recommend them.

The world of technology where they listen

In this world of technology it is very satisfying to talk to the staff of Central Computers (UK) Limited, 15b Park Lane, Park Mews, Suite 5, Hornchurch Essex when considering the purchase of a new PC. I originally decided to upgrade my PC (purchased from the same company 12 years earlier) Times change and so did the slow speed of my processor. The Initial quotes for the cost of a new tower processor commenced in 2022 but unfortunately that year and the subsequent year (2023) involved periods of hospitalisation for myself which put plans on hold. However early 2024 I was able to initially communicate via email with Central Computers and reignite my planned purchase. My principle requirements for the new PC involved 2 profiles, Data transfer, a new monitor, Disposal of old equipment and home installation. I took the opportunity to incorporate numerous questions in my emails, all of which were responded to in a satisfactorily manner. Central Computers have adopted an effective appointment procedure which enables the customer to speak confidently face to face with one of their representatives on all matters relating to their proposed purchase.
Central Computers (UK) Ltd are a first class customer focused company. They do not just sell boxes of technology off the shelf to the customer, they get to know the purchaser and their specific requirements and will do their upmost to tailor the sales accordingly. I am most satisfied with the level of service received from this company

A very helpful and knowledgeable Company

A very helpful and knowledgeable company, They repaired my Windows 10 PC a few years ago, did an excellent repair, and it has worked better since that repair than when it was new. So last week I decided it was time to have another PC built for Windows 11, that would drive a 4K monitor, as my older Windows 10 would not. So we had a discussion on phone about requirements, was given excellent advice, last Thursday I went and ordered the new PC, Tuesday I received phone call to say it is ready for collection, Heather showed me the PC working and explained the connections. I now have it working all fine, so all that was completed within a week of placing the order. Most impressive. Would certainly recommend Central Computers of Romford, Essex. Excellent service.

I know nothing about computers so I was a bit nervous about where to go to get my sons computer repaired, Heather was very helpful and repaired my sons computer in super quick time so he could finish his college work, I was so impressed, a very lucky find Central Computers, highly recommend, good honest reliable service

Great service

I recently ordered a new computer system from Central Computers. The service I received was outstanding and quick. Heather was very helpful and patient with me as I am not 'tech savvy'. This is the second computer I have bought from them and will use them again. Thank you Heather :)

Super service. Always.

I have always had amazing service from Central Computers. I have bought several desktop pcs which they built and laptops from them which they have repaired, set up and upgraded knowledgeably and professionally. They are realistic with timescales and one of the things I like most is that they keep you informed. They do not have an online shop, so those reviews are not applicable to this company. I have used them for years now and would not go anywhere else.

Words fail me to express the bad…

Words fail me to express the bad treatment and service i experienced in the hands of this company Central Computers. I handed over my frozen Hp laptop to them on the 26/11/2020. First they have zero communication and update policy. I kept chasing them and kept asking for updates because nobody was updating me at all considering the fact that my laptop was with them for 2 months even though I pleaded with them as my laptop is being used for business. At a point, they blamed the courier and kept saying the courier had not delivered my laptop for weeks. I really got frustrated not knowing what had happened to the laptop. On 2 occasions I asked if my laptop was missing but couldn't be given a definite word. 3 times I was promised a call back to update me but it never happened. Finally when it arrived I was charged £150. All I was told was the problem was the power button. No explanations, nothing! I just reluctantly handed over the money to them to get my computer away from them after 2 months. I did not want to write this review because I always feel you can be mean to a customer once! Your own actions will put you where you belong. I dont have to write anything. The reason I decided to write this review is that just 3 days after I got my computer back from them, the same problem that took me to them in the first place started again. This is very unacceptable and annoying. I cant even bring myself to go back to them after all I went through the first time. They clearly dont know what they are doing. They claim they do computer repairs but I highly doubt it. They just sell parts and even at that you can see a few people have also had issues with them over sales of parts. Terrible Company this one and I would never recommend them to anyone. BIG BAD NEWS!!!!! BEWARE!!!!

I agree this job did meet our usual timescales for which I apologise and have personally already apologised to you for on the phone.

However, as discussed, the repair you needed was an electrical board repair to the power switch (Not freezing up as you post states) and these repairs not carried out on site. These repairs are quoted as an approximate 3/4 week turnaround (subject to parts availability) and on this occasion it took 7 weeks. (26th November 2020 – 12th January 2021)

There were several things that contributed to the delay in your job:

• The period of your repair covered us being in the 2nd UK lockdown, moving to Teir 4, going into the 3rd UK lockdown and Christmas.
• We lost a week at the beginning – after the first week of not returning our calls you advised us you do not listen to your voicemails – we then changed communication methods and communicated with you by text if we could not get you on the phone and did not leave you any further voicemails.
• The repair was finished in the workshop on 17th December 2020 and was being sent back to the shop for your collection. Due to courier issues, we did not receive it back until 12th January 2021, it was checked and tested inhouse on the same day and you were made aware it was ready for collection which you did on 14th January and saw the machine working prior to payment.

With regards to updating customers, our policy is to call when there is something new to inform you or the initial period of time between stages of a job needs to be changed. On reviewing the notes, this we did.

As I explained to you personally, with regards to the laptop not being delivered by the courier, until it has not arrived for 30 days the courier company will not provide us an update or consider it missing (this is quite usual practice for couriers). We were tracking it every day and every day the online system would state todays date for delivery until it got to around 3pm when the status would change to tomorrows date. Given this occurred over a very busy Christmas period when the courier company was struggling with short staff due to Covid sickness there was nothing I could do unless it reached the 30 days, which fortunately it did not.

With regards to the cost, you were charged the quoted price and did not pay until you saw the machine working.

If the machine is indeed having the same issue again with the power then you are covered under warranty which we will happily look at for you but you will need to make appropriate communication.

If I could give this company less stars I would!

Ordered two M.2 Transcend 512GB SSD's.

I was called the next morning and told only one was in stock. No problem as they would send a refund and I ordered from elsewhere. Later that day I was emailed telling me the one they had in stock they could not find!
I really needed the SSDs the next day as I was leaving the country a few days later and had to get the SSDs installed before I left.
