The course is thoughtfully designed, thorough, and designed to help prepare therapists to become capable and effective practitioners. I've enjoyed the course thoroughly, learning both personally and professionally. Martin has been a wonderful tutor, and his added experience, real life examples, and genuine care and attention made the course for me. Would recommend Chrysalis to any would-be practitioner.

Constantly locked out of logging in to account and ridiculously overly complicated ways to upload assignments which are also inconsistent. I've never come across an institution that has different ways of uploading assignments and differing requirements during a course.
Other providers are much easier to navigate and use.

I don't think enough input is given on Skills Practice in triads and we are sent off to practice with our peers without having good skills demonstrated first. If there is not time in class we could be directed by Chrysalis to their own or other online resources which show skills in action not describe them in theory.
I also think Chrysalis should give more guidance on topics to use for skills practice with peers and provide role play scenarios for our 50 hours rather than expecting students to identify these for ourselves.
The venue is not suitable for skills practice when attending our in-person lectures.
I would like to have been offered another tutor when ours cancelled at short notice due to illness or to have the session rescheduled (online if necessary) when she was better. We were told that we would be updated the following week but we never were. Only one student has been told that we will now have our course extended by 2 months as a consequence.

The company is verbally helpful and wants to assist I am not certain whether it's staff put into place the ethics and behaviours that it tries to teach on the courses it provides time with tell

Don't waste £4000 on this terrible, unethical course, it's an absolute shambles and a disgrace to the counselling profession. I am severely disappointed with the money I am wasting on this course. I have completed level 2 introduction, level 2 award and level 3 in counselling at a college and the standard of those courses and the ability of the teacher was 100% better and more ethical than this disgrace of a course. They are only robbing my money. The teacher is passive aggressive and doesn't answer any of our questions, only says "speak to student services", it's like she doesn't know anything about who she is working for.

This course is wholly unethical for a few reasons. 1. There are no private rooms to undertake confidential skills practices and activities. 2. The teacher is passive aggressive and I am shocked that if she is a counsellor, she is allowing herself morally to teach on such an unethical course. Our college tutor would never have allowed things to pass such as chrysalis have. The teacher is unprepared and has not done one ounce of teaching since November. She asks us to read the course notes at home, print out the presentation, and then proceeds to read out word for word the presentation, and that's it, done. She doesn't delve deeper into the teachings, and when we do our skills sessions, she says she doesn't want us to go 'too deep' with personal problems and asks us just to talk about the traffic - no self respecting person would go to counselling regarding traffic, so how is this teaching us skills?

We are also "learning" exactly what me and my peers learnt in level 2 and 3, we have not learnt anything new. The course is unethical because there are no private rooms to do skills practice, therefore we have to have confidential conversations (albeit about traffic), in front of everyone. This is NOT how skills practice should be done.

Feedback on assignments is slow, the system moodle doesn't work properly and is incredibly difficult and messy to navigate. The teacher then has the audacity to say "I know you can do better" in the assignments, when she doesn't know me and hasn't actually taught us anything, and her grammar doesn't make sense.

Me and lots of other peers have escalated our concerns to Chrysalis and the room was changed, however it is still not confidential, and it is out of the way for everyone using public transport, and STILL does not have confidential rooms away from other peers to undertake confidential skills practice and activities.

This course provider seriously needs an investigation into it's workings, because £4000 for a 2 year course where we are not learning anything and is unethical, is damn right disgusting.

I did not pay £4000 to then have to purchase expensive books (in this economy?!!), print out PowerPoints and then just have them read back to me.

Course tutor excellent and very helpful and supportive. Details on Moodle re course and assignments sometimes hard to understand and not very clear.

I am a current student on Chrysalis 3 year psychotherapy course. I have been really happy with the course, content is great, monthly sessions that fit in around life and a full time job. The 2 tutors I have had Emma for year 1 and Leigh year 2&3 have been amazing. So helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, great teachers. I have learned so much and am progressing towards completion in November. I would highly recommend this course especially the Hitchin course with Emma and Leigh.

Chrysalis has been incredibly supportive to me. I have finally finished and passed my finals. I have been struggling with my physical and mental health and I was challenged greatly to finish my coursework. I had the most incredible support, understanding and encouragement from Tania Redmile in the South Student Support Liaison. Without Tania I would not have been able to finish and pass my coursework. Tania never gave up on me, she gave me nothing but support and encouragement and understanding, she’s a wonderful person and I cannot thank her more. Thank you 🙏🏻🤩🙏🏻

Mark V is a great teacher and very supportive

I've had just over 2 years, so far, and I'm finishing in the next couple of months on the Level 5 course (Level 4 first year, Level 5 second year) and I have been pleased with the online materials, in-person tuition, level of knowledge of the tutor (Rhianan Lowes), her empathetic support, the backroom support of the admin staff who always respond promptly and the extra webinars that Chrysalis provide. I have found the breaks Chrysalis build in for July, August and December helpful in managing other aspects of my life separate to studying and placement counselling. I definitely recommend Chrysalis as being good value for money, detailed and broad training, supportive and with rigorous but fair assessments regularly being part of the course.

I enjoyed my time in the course. The only drawback for me is the difficulty to travel and meet with peers to carry out the practice hours. I'm not sure that there's a way around thar other than to do it all online however, I understand why it is set up in such a way.
