Avoid this place at all costs!!! Lazy, incompetent crooks...best 3 words to describe this dump! Worst customer service you will ever experience! Im still at the cess pool now, been there only 2 months and the crooks just inform me price raising by $100! Now had the lowlife crooks been honest when I moved in I would never have used that rat hole to begin with! Its filthy, the bathrooms never work, your items are anything but safe in that place, the lighting system is the worst...I could go on n on...not even a single trash can in facility and the dumpster is off limits even if you rent a unit so there is trash everywhere. The place sucks..im shocked they dont have break ins nightly...and the customer service sucks..worst you will ever deal with...lazy, incompetent and do not care one bit about customers! Had i known all this 2 months ago I woukd never have rented from them!!!! The place is ridiculous avoid those criminals!!

Security is an illusion at Cubesmart in Antioch CA
Security is an illusion. Robbers got into a air conditioned building in which you need a code to open the doors and robbed my second unit by going over the wall and cutting through the mesh which acted as a roof. I was told by the general manager that there's no real security cameras aside from a camera at the front door entrance, and no footage saved after 2 weeks. He also said that another unit was also robbed the same way recently. There's like one guy watching all the units and no video cameras. The real robbery is taking people's money and making them feel like their personal items are safe. What was taken from my unit are items that are irreplaceable. No dollar Factor could replace these items! Disgraceful!

Over a period of 16 months, I have encountered an aggregate rental increase of 74.5% for a single storage unit.
Initially, prospective customers may be attracted by promotional offers, such as a pro-rated rate for the first month’s rent or a contractual note referencing an alleged discount on the regular monthly rate. However, following this introductory phase, tenants may find themselves subject to the previously mentioned exploitative practices.
It is advisable for potential customers to consider alternative storage facilities that offer greater transparency and fairness in their pricing structures. Additionally, individuals should be cautious of long-term commitments; depending on one’s financial circumstances, the risk of becoming unable to meet rental obligations could lead to restricted access to personal belongings.
DEVASTATING DAMAGE/NO RESPONSE
UPDATE: PLEASE READ THIS BECAUSE IT SAYS IT ALL ABOUT CUBESMART.
After some extraordinary measures to get a response, CubeSmart Corporate finally called. I wound up sending a package by FedEx, next morning delivery, signature required, to the CEO. The package contained 100 copies of the letter I’d sent previously, along with color photos of the damage. It took that to get a response. When he called, he acknowledged receipt of every other correspondence they’d ever received from me, to which they never responded. That’s how much they care.
He listened and sounded sympathetic, and then negotiations began for a settlement.
CHECK YOUR CONTRACT: CUBESMART CAPS THE PERMITTED TOTAL VALUE OF YOUR STORED ITEMS AT $5000. THAT MEANS AFTER YOU PUT YOUR WASHER, DRYER, REFRIGERATOR, AND A TABLE IN THERE YOU ARE ABOUT AT THEIR LIMIT.
Backed into a corner, I settled on that 5000 dollar amount. They refused to add in a refund of rental fees for good measure.
BUT THEN….and here’s the corporate kicker….THEY WILL ONLY PAY IF YOU AGREE TO A NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT. YOU HAVE TO STOP POSTING ANYTHING NEGATIVE AND WITHIN A SHORT PERIOD REMOVE ANY NEGATIVE POSTS.
I TOLD THEM NO. THIS COMPANY IS AS BAD AS THEY GET. STEER CLEAR!

I rented Unit 1132 at CubeSmart’s Canton, OH location from Feb 2024–July 2025 under the promise it was climate controlled.
When I moved out on July 8, 2025, the facility was hot and humid, and severe mold contamination had destroyed roughly 80% of my belongings — including wood furniture, family heirlooms, photo albums, and personal documents.
Three professional movers witnessed the damage and described the mold as “worse than they had ever seen.” The on-site manager admitted he had reported ongoing water and humidity problems to corporate, but nothing was fixed. Moisture was so extreme that even sealed plastic bins had condensation on the outside.
I took over 50 photos documenting the damage. The district manager initially agreed to meet me to review the conditions but stopped responding to all calls, emails, and texts. A formal letter to CubeSmart’s headquarters also went unanswered.
This was a clear failure to uphold their contract and maintain safe storage conditions. The result was severe property loss, emotional distress, and unnecessary exposure to hazardous mold.
I strongly advise anyone considering storage at this facility — or any CubeSmart facility — to think twice. Climate control promises mean nothing if the company won’t maintain the equipment or address known problems.

I've been with Cube Smart in Stockton CA for over a year and the team there is the most helpful group of people that really are understanding and help to ensur3e my storage there is always safe and secure and always keep in contact with me whenever they may be a problem. Sonia and Raquel are a great team and they make me choosing cube smart as my storage provider an easy decision. If you ever need a storage in Stockton Cube Smart on Turnpike is my best recommendation and I love being apart of a storage that takes care of the customers needs first and that is what they do for me everytime. I was robbed at 2601 Maury St
I was robbed at 2601 Maury St, Richmond Va CubeSmart. This robbery was set up by Kendra an employee who input the door security code to let the robber's enter the building as well as open an empty storage unit to allow them to store the stolen merchandise. The police contacted the District Manager (Andy) all he does is blow smoke and mirros. CubeSmart Corporate office did nothing to assist. Stay away from these thieves
Absolute garbage of storage companies!
They apparently just purchased the storage unit company I use. I had self pay set up through the previous company. There was ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION about the change. My storage fees were raised $25.00 a month with no notice. I have emailed and tried to get ahold of them and left voice mails. All of which have gone unanswered. This is horrible customer service and they got one month payment out of me and I will be moving my stuff this month to another company.

I'm so very disappointed with my short vehicle storage.I have a very classic vehicle that I have taken excellent care of in memory of my 23 year old Son who I lost tragically in 2019 the car is in honor of his memory but I stored it there around May 5, 2025 picked it up on July 4,2025 and after going to several collision shops the damage to my door panel and paint is running up in cost I've made several attempts to get some assistance from Cubesmart and no one will return or follow up with me 😞

Michelle at the Elizabethtown, Ky CubeSmart Storage Center was very helpful. She helped me sign up the two units I reserved online. it was great to actually have someone there at the storage location and she went out of her way to make me feel I was appreciated for using her Center. While helping me Michelle was confronted by a woman whose unit cost had gone up and she wanted the lock drilled out because she didn't have her key and was very unhappy about everything. Michelle handled the situation like a pro. She de-escalated the situation, apologized to me and after finishing what she had already started with me went out and opened her unit. I was really impressed with Michelle, and I am glad I picked CubeSmart.
The worst judgmental manager
the manager who Works here likes to instill fear in all of the customers about them.Having to move out in forty eight hours which is which is form of abuse and not right at all even if the customer doesn't do anything. I know a few people who have now gotten kicked out for nothing. the only thing is that she doesn't like them for what ever reason. Definitely run and go some were else
Frauds
Frauds. Debited my bank account. I don't have an account with them. It took me four phone calls, with each person saying "I didn't do it, not my problem" until I finally found someone who agreed to look into it. That person put me on hold for 15 minutes then hung up on me.
CubeSmart in"Baltimore"
I've been in "Baltimore, MD" for (2) two plus years, and I had acquired a storage unit with "CubeSmart," where customer service, location, affordability has been excellently executed throughout the years.
Locked out of my own long term rental locker
I have had CubeSmart lockers at their Peachtree Corners, GA location for many years. I currently have two active lockers. My granddaughter went to retrieve some of her items from one of my lockers today. She found two locks on the locker, a locker I paid for. So I called the manager and a person named Sean (sp) answered. He told me that those were their locks and had been put on since 2020. I got angry. I knew he was trying to decieve me since I personally have been to that locker since then. He told me I would have to travel to the locker site and show ID to have the locks removed. Keep in mind, the locker is paid up. No money is due on the locker.
In addition, the price of the locker (10 x 15) (including insurance I pay for) has steadily escalated since I purchased it in 2020, rising to more than $300 per month now. Over the years, I have paid over $12,000 for this locker only to find it locked with thier locks. To say I am pissed is an understatement. It is true that I let my feelings be known when talking to Sean (maybe some cursing on my part) but I was very angry. Sean hung up on me and refused my subsequent calls.
So, in summary, they say they locked the locker the year I rented I and I never came back, even though I did, they refused to take the locks off without my appearing in person (I live 180 miles away) even though the locker is paid up. And the so called manager Sean now refused to take my calls and help me.
Spend your money at other locker companies. CubSmart is a scam.
Stay Away
I fully agree with this review below. In my case the unit price has gone up from $125 to $220 with no end in sight. Like MTA, CubeSmart is building these draconian price increases in their business model.
This business is criminal. You agree to a price when you move your stuff in they say it's only a one month agreement. Once you move your stuff into the storage unit they can then jack up the price of the unit to whatever they want as long as they give you a 30 day notice. So they basically tell you yes that was the price we charge but we found out other companies are charging more so here's a letter to inform you now that you're using one of our units we raising the price on you by almost an extra $20 a month and you have to move your stuff out of you don't want to pay the new price. Totally a legally way to steal. This company is criminal. Once you sign an agreement on what to pay monthly they shouldn't be able to just say I've changed my mind what I'm charging you so either pay is more or move your stuff out. I got this unit when it was great value storage. They buy it out and then decided my rate is to low and make you get their mandatory unit insurance charging you even more. Cubesmart has found a way to legally steal from the clients and they should be arrested for stealing.
