If i was able to give them zero stars i…

If i was able to give them zero stars i would. I rented a climate control unit for my art work and model boats. The AC unit has not been working since 8-9-24 and i now have mold on everything no call - no warning. The AC is still not working. I called the district manager - Daniel Suarez several times no return call and unable to get a hold of anybody. The people at the office sit there like deer in headlights and unable to help. Worst company i have ever dealt with.

My wife and I have a storage unit…

My wife and I have a storage unit rented out with cubesmart. We have a serious issue we need to discuss and we want this to be open to everybody because we are deeply hurt by cubesmart.
The price of our unit has been constantly increasing every six months and now the price is unbearable.
We spoke to the manager at the sunnyside (11104), New York cubesmart, as she wasn't too helpful in giving us her name. She actually tried to mumble her name and I am still not sure what it is after 2 or 3 times speaking with her.
The last increase was a whopping $60 in one shot. That is brutal! We have been loyal customers of cubesmart for four years now. We spoke to the manager on the phone and she said she would help us out and reduce this one time.
The price increased to $321.30 and she explained she would do her best to reduce it as we have been there for 4 years now.
Two times we called her and both times she promised she would help us. The first time we called her because the price stayed the same and she said she would do it correctly for the next month. She didn't do it correctly for the next month so we called her again. She said she would email us and tell us it was done. She never emailed us and we got the same bill again without any modifications she said she would do.
Now we are annoyed and we feel like we are being laughed at and not taken seriously.
I definitely want to contact my council member as I feel tremendously hurt and ridiculed by your manager, who was not being honest with us. We were so nice and polite with her and she treats us like stupid people. I also might to go to the newspaper about this and tell everyone my very negative experience with cubesmart and also inform people of the amount of times cubesmart increased the prices of our storage unit as they should beware of that. In my book they are not good nor honest people. Terrible, terrible people and company. I am terribly offended and hurt by this company.

Fire Zuma

700 w 40th st San bernardino ca

The lady that works there is so rude her name is Zuma. She treats people like crap. I got locked in there and had to call after hours to get out. Now keep in mind I've never had a warning before because I've never been locked inside the facility before. Well the day after this happened Zuma calls me on the phone and says this is your last warning and then hangs up. She was rude and I still had questions but she just hung up. Very unprofessional. Where did they get her idk but she needs to be FIRED!

Unsecured site

Unsecured site. My unit has been broken into 2 times at this facility. The first time management did make me aware, but their only response was to offer me a new lock. A month later, after being assured by management there were no further issues, I find on my own my unit had been broken into again. The facility takes no responsibility for their lack of security. I have rented at this location 2 times in the past, for extended periods, when they were public storage with no issues. Your belongings are not protected at this location.

Awful company

Awful company. I was going to pay today. Emailed them and called them. They auctioned my stuff yesterday even though the auction was scheduled for next Monday. I went into the office and the staff laughed at me. I’ve lost thousands of dollars and personal family memories because of an unprofessional staff

Outrageous Price Increase

Yes, I have a month to month agreement. But after only two months of renting from CubeSmart their jacked my rent up by 21%. Nothing but corporate greed at its finest. That is too much. Please be advised they will do the same with you.

Crooks

Crooks! Had the storage unit for months then I had financial issues so I couldn't pay my bill. Still I have an email that says I had until the 27th to submit a payment. So I went down there on the 27th with the full amount and they had sold all of my stuff! Thousands in welding tools alone and many other items. The worst was all my keepsakes and pictures of my kids were in there! I can never replace that. How can this be legal? They said they sent me an email stating the new final date but I never found it. Anyways don't storage places have to wait a certain amount of time after the final due date and no payment has been made before they can sell all my stuff??!! Dont risk losing your stuff. These guys are hella shady! If I could give no stars or negative I would!

I went into the CubeSmart in Lanham, MD

I went into the CubeSmart in Lanham, MD to closeout my storage. Aarron was the rep that helped me and it was like a breath of fresh air. He explained to me what I needed to do the last day I moved out. I came all armed with a note explaining when I was moving out, but he said it was not necessary. This is my first time having to do this myself. My daughter always has been with me, but she has since moved out of State. He was so professional, knowledgeable and kind. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It is very hard to find this kind of Customer Service these days. So, when I come in contact with people like him, I thank them and write reviews. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to share this good news.

The representative at the 1744 Pass Rd…

The representative at the 1744 Pass Rd Biloxi MS area, caused me to lose my deposit. They assured me that an 18 wheeler could access my unit. But just before moving day upon reconfirmation, they admitted it it wouldn’t fit. When I requested a refund due to the misinformation, they stated that refunds are not available, consequently I had to urgently seek and alternative storage company. It felt like a deceitful tactic to take my money and it significantly increased my stress level. So beware!

I went to my reservation at 3:30 and the employed Wilson have already close the gate so no one will enter the facility and I said that’s a charge $250 it pass that time, all this happen at 1376 Cromwell Ave Bronx NY. I will give negative 5 start , if ya can about the facility they don’t appreciate value customer or new reservations

CubeSmart is engaged in a bait and switch and excessive rate increase!!

CubeSmart is engaged in a bait and switch scam where a customer is subject to frequent and excessive rate increases after moving in. I moved in in July 2023 and have received two (2) significant rent increases without sufficient notice or justification. My first increase was Dec 2023 and it was a 21.7% or $87.15 increase from July 2023.
Just found out this week, CubeSmart is again seeking another increase of $145.74 or 29% increase from December. Since I moved in CubeSmart has increased my monthly rental at total of $232.90 or 57% in just one (1) year. This is outrageous and the public needs to be aware. I will be moving to a more suitable and reputable storage company in the future.

was charged from day made reservation when i told i would use unit beginning ten days later. was also charged insurance which I was not advised about.have been dealing with corporate over a month to resolve these issues to no avail. worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

Cube Smart does not honor its remtal and pricing committments. Classic bait and switch.

I had a confirmed reservation to move the contents of an entire house into two storage units on a specific date. When I arrived, I was informed the facility had no electricity due to a scheduled installation of solar panels. I was given the option of (i) moving in with no lights, no elevator, and no way to open the loading bay doors, (ii) accepting an inferior set of storage units at another facility further way for double the contracted rent, or (iii) waiting a week for a district manager to call me back (she was on vacation). I made other storage arrangements and Cube Smart has refused to reimburse me for any excess costs. Their view is that it is the customer's obligation to ensure the facility is available and the customers assume the risk of all costs incurred due to the company not delivering its product. Cubs Smart deliberately turned scheduled maintenance into an opportunity to blackmail a customer, which is a criminal act.

After calling twice to get information, I asked specifically when they raise their rates. Answer, we don't at least not know. Less than 6 months, received notice my bill is double - Union City New Jersey. DON'T DO IT - Look elsewhere, am removing my stuff immediately before the lst.

Stay away!!

Where do I start? When I signed up for a locker I was told my rent would start on the 1st of each month.

When I went to pay they insisted that I would lose my locker if I didn't pay on the day I was there making my rent due on the 20th instead of the 1st which caused me to be late monthly. THEN after about a year, I went there to pick up an item and found that the lock hasp had been hack-sawed. I contacted the management and they informed me that it was like that when I moved in - IT WAS NOT. I went back the following week, more saw marks, dents in the door and the hasp had been pried and actually had pulled one of the bolts through the metal.

STILL nothing was done. I purchased a new hasp on my own from an online distributor and got the wrong one so I had to purchase another ($40 total for both). Now the door only opens 1/2 way because I had to put large washers on to hold the hasp in place. On to the next rant...Elevator was out of service for close to a year.

They'd like you to believe that there are security cameras BUT they are only located at the elevators giving crooks plenty of time to saw your hasp off. Did I mention that there are people living in the storage units? There was an occasion I went to get a few items and a woman was doing her laundry in the restroom AND using 2 carts. I said something about it to the attendant who told me that as long as her cube was paid that there was nothing he could do.

There's very little lighting in the unit, so I brought in a drop light so I could see what I was doing while getting things out. Recently the decided to remove all the outlets so now I have to use a flashlight.

There a seldom carts available so if you need a cart, bring your own. The only good thing I can say is the staff are polite and professional.

Do yourself a favor and don't rent from CubeSmart!

I had four cubes rented from the CubeSmart location #4309 in Katy, Tx. for several years. Due to medical bills, I got behind on my payments, and lost two of my units through a lien auction. I own that. My responsibility. Texas Law states that all proceeds from a self-storage lien auction go to the original owner of the properties, which is me. These auctions were on 03/15, with one unit selling for an excess of $5500 and another selling for an excess of over $15,000. Fast forward 30 days and all I have received from CubeSmart is lies and excuses. The Property Manager, Toni Thompson, first said that CubeSmart would keep all excess funds because, and I quote her, "We need the money". I escalated my complaint to the District Manager Douglas Johnson, who told the property manager on a conference call with me that she was wrong and that I was owed all excess funds. Since that time, nothing...and getting a call back from Douglas Johnson is almost impossible. When he does finally return a call, he acts as if he knows nothing. I finally received an email from CubeSmart Corporate on 03/25/2024 that the smaller check ($5500) had been mailed. That was 21 days ago and still nothing. I asked Mr. Johnson for tracking and he said that CubeSmart would simply mail the check in a regular envelope with a stamp on it to save money. So I have now lost my property and the excess funds from the sale of the property. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from any CubeSmart location. They are horribly overpriced, the facilities are average at best, and the employees are rude, arrogant, and ignorant to the laws. The entire business is a sham and a bunch of crooks.
