(9/27/2023) Rented a storage unit at their Riverview, FL facility.
During the finalization of completing the Agreement on-line, it turns out that they require you to purchase one of their locks for $19.99.
The only way to not purchase the lock is to go into the local office and waste your time completing the Agreement and have them remove the Mandatory lock purchase.
So, much for being convenient!
Cube Smart: One Star For Numerous Reasons
***WARNING**** You would be wise to avoid doing business with cube smart. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. They are: liars, thieves, unethical, and above all, they do not care about integrity; they willfully and knowingly hurt people, have no understanding what customer service is, and they are quite content doing wrong. Read the myriad of awful reviews and trust what you read.
When we arrived in North Las Vegas, we had an excess of home furnishings, etc ... that needed to be stored. We found Storage West. They were awesome! Friendly, easy to work with, personable then one day, having been customers for a few years ... we attempted access to our unit. Denied. We believed there was merely a glitch. We were met by management explaining they were bought by cube smart. Our unit was locked due to failure to pay for two months. Their new fees were assessed in addition to a rate increase -- bear in mind we had just had rent raised by $50 a few months before. New rate after the increase exceeded $200 + fees.
After hours of lines, exchanges with our bank. printing receipts, driving to the unit, and proving conclusively that cube smart was wrong, we were still denied access to our unit. Enraged, I asked why this was happening. The response: cube smart knows that size unit is in great demand and they can get whatever they want for it. Days later, my wife received a call stating it was an internal glitch, and a suggestion to get over it and move on. Absolutely not. We have found a wonderful storage facility less than 1/4 mile from our home, significantly less rent, amazing people, and the best customer service -- hello Shield Storage, goodbye cube, a wonderful, breath of fresh air welcome to Shield Storage.

I recently rented a storage at the 2700 east flamingo location and I was only there 7 days my unit was broken into all my personal belongings and things that are not replaceable are gone with no explanation no professional service the worker at the desk told me she doesn't get paid enough to watch or secure customers units ...so I had to be walked to my broken into unit with her to see all my belongings ram shacked and things were in my unit that didn't belong 2 me I work hard for things that were in my storage unit and memories that can never be replaced she gave me a email to contact who ever and the email was fake the numbers she told me call were fake .. I so hurt and I feel so uncomfortable knowing completely strangers enter my unit .. the business next door 2 cube smart said people are living in the units like homes and there drug users and the employees there no about it .. the cameras system doesn't work on my row were my unit is the business next door said there all in on it and he has which called the news channel several times to complain but nothing hasn't changed...
Federal Heights Location
Charlotte at CubeSmart in Federal Heights was so awesome! I take care of an elderly friend in Kansas who has her storage in Denver and lost her keys. Charlotte helped get the right paperwork in place (Even last minute!) and patiently waited for me to drive there from Kansas, with a couple of delays, in order to oversee the lock getting cut and changed for this customer. She was friendly, professional, courteous and helpful. Thank you, Charlotte for great customer service and a wonderful experience with this company.

I have stored at many self storage place over the years. By far CubeSmart Self Storage in Lumberton,NJ is the BEST.. Erika explained everything to me and made sure to answer any questions I had. She never made me feel like I was being pressured to buy anything extra. She always has a smile for you. Erika goes above and beyond if you have any issues..I will only deal with Erika when I come to my unit..
The worst experience - 444w 55th st NYC
The worst experience ever as a new customer for scheduling shuttle pick ups with the 444W 55th St.,New York City location, which was the main reason for going with them. The shuttle service scheduling guy named Francis scheduled requested pick ups for wrong times while I was on phone with him, then he canceled those and rescheduled for another time,again wrong, I got messages confirming wrong times, I had to call back and then finally he was able to schedule it correctly. I requested him to let me know if morning slot opens up during the weekend. He called me later if I wanted to reschedule for that time and I did. Then I left a voice message one day before to cancel my 2nd pick up as I wasn't well asked to call me back to confirm no one did. I called in to confirm so someone else could use that slot. For 3rd pick up request same guy picked up and told per their record I had already rescheduled 6-7 pick ups, when he had made all those mistakes, he will not schedule it. I told him what had really happened on which he got very agitated but finally scheduled my pick up for Saturday 10:30 AM and I received a confirmation text message from Cubesmart. but when I called the number given on the confirmation message on Saturday 10:15am and I asked if the driver is on his way the supervisor told me she does not see any pick up scheduled for me for 10:30 AM, she called the driver and then she called the scheduling person and ultimately told me she doesn't have paperwork for 10:30 AM pick up so she won't be able to send the driver. Instead of saying we apologize, something got messed up and we don't have your pick up on the schedule the supervisor named Honey went on a rant with me extremely disrespectfully and said she has notes that I was rude to somebody on my previous call and she doesn't want to schedule a pick up for me. I tried to ask what had happened but she continued being interruptive and telling me I was rude to someone previously just to cover for her rudeness and mistake for not scheduling the pick up at the right time. I heard this supervisor talk crap about me to the scheduling person not realizing she was not on mute. The previous person obviously entered whatever notes to cover himself for the many rescheduling mistakes that were made, but I don't think this supervisor had any reason to be so disrespectful to me, no patience at all to listen to the customer. When I asked for her to let me finish my question, she said she doesn't have time for this and asked me to keep talking putting me on music /hold telling me she won't listen to anything I was saying and kept coming back and putting me in music time and again. When I asked for that person's name, she went on another rant being unnecessary defensive she continued being disrespectful.
these people need to understand what Customer Service means and they need to give the customer a chance to speak up, their staff needs to be trained properly to understand that customers also have many things going on and they need to be patient to listen to the customers. I feel violated. I would not recommend this place to anyone if the customer service is this bad. My bad that I did not read the reviews people had them being so disrespectful before signing the lease.
I hope someone from Cubesmart leadership reads this message and understands that their staff needs to be better in their interaction with the customers.
I'm sure they're gonna get back at me for this review, but I have to let other future customers and their leadership know how I was treated. Two people making mistakes supporting each other and the supervisor treating me as dirt. If they continue this behavior with me again, or create problems with my stuff stored there, and continue giving me problems with the shuttle pick ups that was part of the deal I signed up with them then I will take it up to the consumer court. I am a well educated professional homeowner in Manhatten who understands my rights and the service levels that should be there for such businesses. This is not the first time I am using a storage unit or shuttle service.
Long term satisfaction
Have had a storage unit with Downers Grove store 0586 for over 5 years; through 2 moves and cancelled credit card due to being stolen, while that cc was on my monthly payment! These folks were so understanding, professional and considerate I would do business with them again anytime. Thanks for the excellent service during my 5 years with you Jecel and Nate!

Cubesmart is only interested in $$$
When Cubesnart took over this property, they immediately raised the prices. They've gone up every year since. And went up twice last year. The original company gave 24hr access. Cubesmart wants $25 a month more for that. When I complained, they said they would give it back to me for free. But after one month, they took it away. In the winter, they snow plow leaving 3 ft of snow, 4 ft high, to my garage door. When asked about this, they told me it was a liability to plow closer. Wouldn't it be a liability for a 67 year old, disabled man to shovel his way in? Avoid the company at all costs. You'll get nothing but lies!

The swamp cooler at Cube Smart at2121 Rock Springs has been broken from mid May until current!@ !! Ive ventured into my storage with 3 different thermometers .temp has varied from 95 degrees to 110 degrees. OTHER renters & myself have spoken with coorperate mgrs with big titles, have e mailed ,texted,complained,contacted BBB as our contents melt in this hell box. Its inhumane to hire movers as that would be torture!. And the upper mgement continues to lie about when it will be fixed!!!l

The customer service sucks, the rep was so so rude, I was due a refund, and she stated I don’t get a refund because I paid with cash, after asking to speak to a manager, she was told to refund my money, after receiving my money, I questioned the amount, she couldn’t explain to me why I’m only receiving this amount, I told her she didn’t have to yell, she told me, “if I was yelling, you would know about it”… excuse me, is this how you talk to your customers? Where do they find people like this? This company doesn’t even deserve a 1 star… I called customer service to report her, no respond…
What was the care about money? No customer service.
On July 2, approximately 10:03 AM I went to my storage unit on Woodside Avenue queens New York to my surprise they were closed. They were supposed to be opened at 9 AM. I was heading on a trip me and my family that day I store my luggage in there and my vacation clothing for me and my family, I waited for 10 minutes nobody was there. The place was locked dark. Nobody opened up so I had to hurry up to the store my new luggage, my bathing suits by vacation clothing so we got back from the July 4th vacation. I called the storage unit they told me that I apologize I had emergency I couldn’t open up the store Number one you have a major business. You should have two people opening the store all the time God for bid somebody can’t make it in. Somebody could open the store customers you or your customers that service so after 10 phone calls 12 days of me calling you guys you finally issue me a one day credit to my storage unit that is a disgrace that’s a slap in the face. I spent $600 on luggage clothing, which I can’t return because I used it and this is how you treat your customers on one day credit you guys should be ashamed of yourself. Remember you need your customers we pay for a service and you failed to deliver. if I could leave a note star review horrible experience if anybody has experienced this on that day, or any other day please put a negative review they have to know how to serve the customers and stop being so damn cheap. Have two people there opening all the time.

Before I rented a space from CubeSmart, everyone had told me that I wasn't going to have a good experience. I rented a parking spot for a camper at the storage in amissville Virginia. After about a week of my camper sitting there in the storage parking, all of a sudden I have a game camera pointing right at my camper. So I take a drive around the rest of the storage facility and I seem to be the only person there with a camera. Is this place biased because my camper isn't as nice as the rest of them that are in there? The gentleman and the lady without seeing me knew exactly who I was by face they called me by name because they were watching me for weeks for what reason? So I suggest you stay away from CubeSmart because they tend to try and spy on you.
