Unique idea of reminance, I wish it would come in pre-printed version as I struggle to print it.

This is a fantastic reminiscence tool and planning of activities we are a specialist dementia home and have been using this for about a month and I have five residents that wait for me to bring the daily sparkle round every morning

my groups love the sparkle items, they love the music cd's
very informative information to share is excellent
personally I would like to see cd/dvd music with words on the screen in big words for the limited sighted

Full of interesting things to talk about and have a look at.
Love getting the emails and was excited about getting my first hardcopy, music disc and balloon in the post.

We have been impressed with the Daily/Weekly Sparkle and our residents have seemed to enjoy the articles/quizzes etc as it has been something new for them - and has given them a little 'sparkle'.

As I have only been in the role for seven months, the training day was a great opportunity to meet other people providing activities in care homes. It covered a wide range of topics and I found the training on how to engage with residents with different levels of dementia very relevant. Together with the introduction to one page profiles it will help with planning the best activities for all abilities.
The trainer was very friendly & the course material available to download is a great toolkit which I’m sure I will return to again and again.

As I have only been a activity co ordinator for about 9 month's this training gave me plenty of ideas for my job also listening to others in the same role was fantastic

our home has only been open two weeks and I have all 5 of my residents siting reading it and remember fond memories Ive enve had my name changed to Mrs Sparkle by one of our residents

our residents and relatives love reading and reminiscing its a joy to see a dementia resident suddenly have a light bulb moment of recognition and be able to bring that memory closer.

This is a wonderful addition to any home struggling to do activities with their residents.

it is informative, interesting and very easy to understand.

Some of our residents loved it and it gave ideas to staff.

I am happy with the Daily Sparkle for the most but in my care home we are deal with a lot of end stage dementia and would really, like a page for them.
Maybe ideas we could do for the resident. Maybe all about the senses.

We have used the daily sparkle in our Avery care homes for many years and they grow with the ever changing needs of our homes. Nothing is too much trouble for them, whether it is making personalised daily sparkle reminiscence newspapers for our residents or adding a particular subject one of residents would like to discuss. The daily sparkle can be used individually or as part of a group. With relatives, care staff or our dedicated activity team. Together we can reflect on times gone by and is an effective way of connecting people, prompting conversations and provides opportunities for residents of all cognitive abilities to enjoy and benefit from. It also helps the staff to learn more about the past and also about our residents, especially when memories are sparked from a story and this helps us get to know them on a more personal level helping us to provide more person centred care.
