Excellent, good service and prompt payment for lots sold.

This is a company of extremes: they either offer good honest advice or are completely neglectful. Was offered good advice on most of my lots, but several were sold for less than half price. They tried to convince me that I should have known to set a reserve. I saw little point in talking to them any further. Sellers should be aware that this company's main goal is to get their fee for a sale - any sale.

Absolutely disgusted with this auction house. I took two boxes of things down to have appraised and auctioned. I was awaiting a phone call to say what they thought. Next thing I knew they had lumped it all together, put it in an auction, not at the sale room but online, and sold the lot for £15!! There was Doulton, crystal, antiques....Gone. No consultation or anything. I ended up with £5 for all my good stuff!!

Bought a safe without any keys! There was no information regarding this on the lot description and the lot was in storage at Eastfield. Still had to buy the safe and now nearly 4 months later still waiting for them to auction the safe again. Very poor! This is clearly a deliberate act to try and antagonise me. I would not recommend Dugglebys to anyone buying or selling. Snobbish expensive and useless

I highly recommend this company. I have many years of experience as both a buyer and seller at this auction house. Unlike many other auction houses Dugglebys has changed with the times and is constantly looking to make improvements. The consequence of this is that it has developed into a market leader in Yorkshire and the North of England. Family based David, Jane and their son provide good strong leadership. The valuation team are highly knowledgeable and helpful. The office team are extremely personable, delightful and efficient. The porters are very pleasant and obliging.

Buying and selling is an easy and a satisfying experience. Catalogue descriptions are accurate and condition reports are easily available. The evolution of this company should serve as a role model to others in this industry. Prices attained at Dugglebys are constantly improving and reflect the true market value of goods.

First time I've used David Duggleby. In fact first time I've attended an Auction online. Process was very easy, and viewing the lots and bidding was straight forward enough.
I had an issue with one of the two items I purchased, but his was resolved by their customer service team very easily, and to my satisfaction.

Overall I have been extremely happy with DD over the years, even emptying my deceased parents house.
However I am not impressed with their live bidding I bid at £100 and got a invoice for £390. Cancel my account

Well organised auctioneers with interesting sales.

Never bid on this auction house.
They place the items strategically, in photos, seemingly well, and when you receive the items they are broken, unusable and with missing parts.
If you write to them protesting what you have received, they answer that it was a lot, and that in any case, i must ask if the articles were broken,they authentic scammers.
If you love your money, dont give it them, better
better give it to a homeless person, you will feel more happy, and the money will be much better invested

I placed a bid for a watch - which I did not win. A few hours later, I received a call from the auction house telling me that the “winning” bidder had reneged. In view of this, the caller asked if I would still honour my bid. I said that I would and was told that they would be in touch with me shortly. As noone called me, I phoned them the next day and was informed that David Duggleby himself would be calling me ... which didn’t happen (again!). Yet another day passed and still no word from them. So, I phoned yet again to let them know that they should stop wasting my time. Interestingly, the lady I spoke with seemed a bit surprised. I eventually heard from them to say that I was correct i.e. that they should not have raised my hopes or wasted my time! If this is what this firm does without considering how their actions inconvenience and upset bidders (customers), then they really need a lesson in managing customer expectations and relationships. (BTW, I am qualified to assess them as I buy regularly from at least 5 other - far more reputable - auction houses/online platforms.) Utter amateurs - and time wasters!
