I have had numerous email communication with this gentleman- he didn’t put his full name on his sheet and also didn’t not enter his own choices onto our website which we do advise attendees to do so it gives them full control. There were two guys at the event with the same name.
Because I also accidentally misspelt ‘ entering’ I then receive this reply. I have tried to explain numerous times but the emails keep coming.

Part of his email yesterday:
To quote your last email to me 'That is why we advise you everting you’re own choices.'

I'm not exactly sure what this means so I looked up the definition of evert in the merriam-webster dictionary (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/evert)

The first definition provided is 'overthrow, upset' - I think you'll agree this would not be a polite way of conducting oneself on a date.

The second definition is 'subject to eversion', I wasn't sure what eversion means but the people at Merriam webster really know how to run a business and they kindly provided a link to its definition. Eversion 'the act of turning inside out: the state of being turned inside out'. Are you encouraging people to turn others inside out on your dating events? Again I'm sure you'll agree this not how one should conduct themselves in polite society, especially in the pursuit of romance.

I have tried many times to explain to him but he still is determined to continue to send relentless emails.
Our host’s father had a heart attack a few hours before the event which meant that we had two events run by one host which made it very busy but we tried our very best. We had some lovely messages from people praising our host but also showing us understanding of how stressful our situation was.
Your comments don’t make sense so please stop editing your review with facts that don’t add up or dictionary research - I’ve tried politely on numerous occasions to explain to you that you should have logged into our website and entered your own choices.
Endless emails from you and edited reviews on here just don’t make any sense.
You received matches so focusing your time on arranging dates would be a much better use of time.
I won’t be replying any more to this.

Thank you for your review.
We received upsetting news one hour prior to the event that our host who was meant to be running the younger event – her father had been rushed into hospital due to a heart attack.

Understandably there was no way she could run the event.

Due to the very short notice our other two hosts we are unable to arrange childcare. We did not want to cancel the event at such short notice for the younger age group as this would be very unfair on people who had started to get ready for this event and also who were already travelling to it. We contacted the bar who were very helpful and then rearranged tables to ensure that if both events we are running side-by-side it could be the best solution.

Our host put 100% effort into trying to ensure that everyone was okay and then everyone had a great time despite a couple of men making unkind comments then leaving.

We have received many emails from people who were very understanding and said they had a great night nearly almost everyone who was there received at least four matches – I’m sorry if this wasn’t the case for you.
We have not given out any personal information without people’s consent therefore I have reported this review to as this is certainly not the case. We were put in a very very difficult position due to no one’s fault and our priority was trying to make sure that everyone was accommodated and happy. I am so sorry that you did not feel this way but i we tried our best under the circumstances.

Hi Laura
We are so sorry about this. We had two events planned last night.
One ages 28-42
One ages 22-32
Unfortunately the host who was running our 22-32 event - he father had a heart attack yesterday afternoon and was rushed into hospital. As she was understandably so distraught she was only able to inform us at 6.00 pm that she couldn’t host. We did try to get another host to run the second event but she was unable to get childcare at such short notice. We couldn’t cancel the younger event as this would be very unfair on everyone who had made plans for it. So we just had to try our best to run both together. The bar said they would try to help but they became short staffed too. We tried everything to get additional help.
I fully understand your disappointment but this never normally happens it was just a very tragic situation for our host and our host there last night tried her hardest. So sorry you felt you had to leave us a negative review but we did try to make the best of the situation.
If you would like to attend another event please let us know and we’ll add you at no charge.

It is a shame you issed the event but this was not our fault which I did try to explain to you but your emails were not only extremely abusive but very aggressive too.
The new venue for the event was changed on our website a month ago and the people who had booked had all been informed of this change including you which you confirmed receiving.
You were sent a reminder today for tonight’s event. You acknowledged the reminder but failed to read the address properly which is not our fault. The language you used in emails to me was appalling and aggressive which has been reported - our event ran as planned tonight with 17 couples. We didn’t randomly change venues or breach contract.

I have chosen to show an example of the email I received from this gentleman who initially accused me of informing him of the wrong night - then when realises hed made an error accuses me of sending him to the wrong venue.
Not nice at all.

Hi Steph
Your full refund was made from Barclaycard 3 days ago as we received notification of this. As I had explained to you in previous emails we do not process bookings or refunds it is all done through the secured payment gateway of Barclaycard so we had to request it through them which they have since done. I notice you have attended an event with us before so you must have been happy to then return and book another. As I explained we have to move our event to the 6th as our host's father died very suddenly so she was unable to host. This was a big shock to us all and hence the postponed date. I did become a little defensive as your emails included inappropriate language which as I did appreciate your disappointment at the date being moved - however the langauge and tone used was unfortunately uncalled for.
I have emailed proof of your refund to you and have also reported this review to Trustpilot as it is inaccurate.

Hi Stacey
Thank you for your review. We had to postpone the event as we were still unsure about how we would run safely regarding Covid so moved the event to next month to give us time to then see how then venue is operating regarding spacing etc.
We were not able to text you as when you booked you only booked with your email address, you left the phone number field empty. Your friend entered her mobile number.
We don't have a landline or a LinkedIn account so wouldn't be able to respond via this.
We did send an email to you , I have checked our emails too and there had been none from your email address that you booked with?
When you booked you booked via the Barclaycard gateway not our direct website. They handle all refunds - not us.
They have been contacted re your refund. It may be taking longer due to the current situation but they are very good at processing payments and refunds.
We did move everyone onto next month's event at no charge as stated in our message.
Can you confirm if you'd like to attend or would you like to be removed as we didn't hear back from you either way.

Thank you for your email John but as previously explained in many email correspondances with you we couldn't run the event that you wanted to attend due to the Corona virus pandemic, all of our events have been temporarily cancelled and no bars / restaurants are open in Belfast - it isn't safe to go outdoors let alone mix face to face. We have offered you another place and have followed our terms and conditions which you ticked to agreeing to prior to booking. I did email you a copy of these to show you that we were following company policy. I also asked you to email me a copy of your 'match report' that you claimed you had but you then said it had deleted?
