I found Selin here while looking for an Italian teacher because I wanted to learn Italian before spending some time in Italy. I really enjoyed our lessons — they were relaxed, fun and never felt like studying. Selin is very friendly and patient, and I felt more confident speaking Italian after just a few lessons. Really happy I found her!

They are easily accessible and chat friendly with the customers and students

This is a rubbish thief company who are steeling money! Absolutely unusable, I registered with them, never ever got a student, they ask for payment to be "verified" tutor, then they take the money from my account!! Be careful with them!! Even they do not answer if you contact them!!

Neda is more than just a teacher to me; she is someone I genuinely like and have been able to build a great connection with. We have been working together for three years now, and we have made so much progress during this time. She is incredibly flexible, and we have changed our lessons and even our books many times depending on my needs and circumstances. If I could go back in time, I would choose Neda all over again to spend a few hours each week learning with her. I’m truly happy that she has been part of my learning journey.

Most of my Students right now are coming from the Find Tutors Website. You are able to get reviews from anybody for Find Tutors so when First tutors shut down I was able to get most of my students to leave a review on this website.

I am a humanist by education, so it is difficult for me to master these technologies. But this site is a pleasant exception.
I was able to quickly navigate and overcome my insecurity.
I placed my ad and already have requests for tutoring.
I hope that in the future I will work with this site.

While I have received some good referrals from FindTutors, there are some serious shortcomings:

1. When communicating with first inquirers, if you include any means of contact such as a phone number or email address, the site discards the message, so the other party do not receive it, and worse, you don't know they haven't because the site doesn't tell you that your reply message has been shadow-banned. Because of this, a majority of my student inquiries have gone cold. When I raised this concern with TusClases, the site owners, their advice was not to include means of making contact in the message system until several messages had been exchanged back and forth:

"The reason our platform blocks personal contact details such as email addresses and phone numbers in initial messages is to protect both tutors and students and ensure a safe environment on the platform."

This means you cannot tell them how to reach you - and one is not really sure what triggers the message blocker. In replying to a recent inquiry, I was hesitant to use numbers to suggest lesson times, in case the site interpreted these as me trying to give them my telephone number. Moreover, I could not see any warning that replies to student inquiries should not contain the means of allowing the student to contact me. A number of new students whose inquiries I had promptly replied to, having nevertheless not heard back from me via FindTutors, after googling independently and finding me by chance online, told me that they had given up on hearing back from me via FindTutors. As recently as two days ago (11 September) a prospective student called me to discuss the message he said he had sent via FindTutors, but that message is nowhere to be found in my Inbox.

2. Subscribing at the high cost of £29.90 per month doesn't fix the issue above and after registering and paying this monthly fee, you have to pay another £29.90 to get "Verified". All that is verifiable by this process is that you paid them another £29.90, however the site does tell you this makes your phone number visible- but that is of use only if the new student knows where to look for it in the first place. I did notice however that this also makes the student contact phone number visible to me, if the student has provided it.

3. The lack of clarity of the relationship between Teacher Profile and the Ads - the site build creates confusion from the Teacher side, so I can't imagine what it must be like for students. If teachers registered with FindTutors are enrolling new students, it is in spite of, not because of the design of the site.

Another difficulty I have experienced is that contacting Customer Service is made more complicated than it needs to be, by naming the site FindTutors differently to the owners, TusClases, from whom replies come. My reply to the email from TusClases cited above has not been answered in over a week.

Good place to advertise or find a reputable tutor.

I recommend findtutors because of how they connect potential students with tutors. From the taking on of one student in December 2024 I garnered 4 other students based on the mother's recommendation of my teaching to other mothers known to her.

Paid my subscription: absolutely useless unless you pay extra to be at the top of the ads

My experience with Mr. Honore has been very good. He is patient, friendly, and explains each topic clearly with practical examples. He takes time to make sure I understand before moving to the next topic. His lessons are well organized, engaging, and have helped me improve my IT knowledge and confidence like networking and cctv camera security. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor.
