My experience with First Tech has been great. Frank Lee was my first contact for customer service in June and he was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I had to place a second call this month due to problems with internet payment. Frank Lee was again my customer service representative. I knew I would be helped, and he took my payment promptly and securely. I know I can count on receiving the best customer service with First Tech.

My wife and I opened an Auto loan and the processing was painful and a bit misguided. The purchase was from a private party and the paperwork from my side to process the loan was turned-in in a timely manner. However, processing at the branch was approximately two hours for what should have been 15 minutes to sign documents. Not only that, the paperwork given to me for licensing the vehicle was incorrect and I had to return to the branch the next morning to pick-up the missing document. The loan processor was polite and professional. My take is that First tech failed in providing the proper training and support for processing such a loan. Also, much of the paperwork went through the Hillsboro office (electronically) creating most of the delays. Nearly a week before the branch meeting I spoke with the loan processing division on two occasions, ensuring that we had everything in place for a timely transaction. My sense is - that did very little to ensure a timely transaction. It did however ensure that we (and the seller) had the proper paperwork submitted prior to the meeting.

I've been with First Tech for over 60 years. They've always been responsive, helpful & courteous. Never had a bad experience with them. Our latest dealing involved a CD coming due. We were helped with a plan to maximize interest. The interest paid on CD's & savings has typically been better than most CU's locally.

First Tech was send a $97 charge to collections and blocked banking access to my account with $15,000 on the savings account.
When asked to reopen it they send me to pay to a collection company and when I did that I was informed that they couldn't open it until next month.
Back on call with First Tech, they agreed to open the account if I let them transfer $97 from my savings account, suggesting the I cancel the transaction with the collections company they directed me to.
After dropping the call on me. The finally confirmed that they would lift the restrictions, but that it would take 3-6 business days.
They were unwilling to escalate or prioritize this in any way.
Take your money elsewhere, you never know when they will try to block all access to your accounts and then refuse to re-enable it in a timely fashion.
This took over 1 1/2 hours on the phone with First Tech, calling from Denmark at $1.60 per minute - most of it listening to hold music.

HORRIBLE, wait times are through the roof. Definitely would look elsewhere before signing a loan with this institution.

Hey I had an auto loan with first tech and when my auto loan came to end I just got a new job and they won't even work with me, they were threatening me to come repo my vehicle so I suggest for people not to deal with them if they have an auto loan
