Although staff were polite and helpful the number of out of order rides and rides that then closed for maintenance spoiled what should have been a fun day out. Food was expensive (£11 for 8 doughnuts)... Mehr ansehen

TIPS AND TRICKS TO SAVE YOUR EXPERIENCE!
Amazing, I found the trick to save your experience! See all these 1 star reviews? Scared of endless queues? Horrible interaction? Ima tell you the tips and tricks for = Flamingoland Resort. 1. Go on a non summer day or a day that isn't too rainy but a little shower - I use this many times to get like 24 rides out of 7 hour trip! (1 on sik, 2 on velocity, 3 on navigator, 2 on cliffhanger, 4 on kumali, 1 on mumbo jumbo, and many more won't waste your time). Quese aware usually 5 minutes but sik took 20 minutes. I go on days that has one hour/2 hours of the day shower or light rain. 2. Go on kumali, mumbo and pterodactyl first! 3. Take family or friends. 4. Take your own food (the food is good but takes a looking time. First time I went I wasted a good 2 hours (not at once) waiting for food or finding a place to eat (as I'm q muslim) there is a place Burger Shack selling halal chicken (only chicken) but I always brought my own food after that. 3. If your going with lots of family or friends SPLIT UP! I tend to go in groups of 4 and under, it's easier faster more enjoyable, easier to finish arguments on what to go on next. 4. Here I have my personal opinions on the rides
Sik- best one easy
Velocity- third best a must go
Kumali- almost best, amazing ride
Mumbo Jumbo- overatted!
Hero- a miss tbh
Voodoo- Fun if your a kid and can't go on the big rides but other than that - do waste your time
Zoom- only if you can't go on the big rides
Twistasaurus- overrated but loved the dinosaurs, cool experience
Pterodactyl- a MUST go, very very fun and amazing view and fast!
Cliffhanger- very over hyped but very nice view 👌
Navigator- best 'starter' ride for the scared folks and very fun
Laser Tag- fun but not a must
Zoo- amazing! Sometimes animals hard to see but I mean it would be a con if they shoved and abused the animals next to the glass so Karen's stop hating.
5. On the website it TELLS you if any rides are not available, please do not be stupid like 99% of these reviews who complain due to thier inability to look on the website. Flamingoland has an amazing helpful and honest website. I love it! Simple and easy. So USE IT. 6. Tickets are expensive but it's a great park and I think its worth it! Have fun just follow my steps!
Multiple rides broken down or turned…
Multiple rides broken down or turned off. Queued for hours for broken rides. Extremely expensive for the 3 kids rides we had. What a disappointment. Never going again.
Shambolic..
Shambolic... our kids are in the same situaion - 2hrs to get there on the school trip and 2hrs to queue for the first ride. Shouldn't take so many bookings if kids can't enjoy the place.
School Trip, £45, 2hr drive each way for 1 Ride !!!
Daughter visited with school today, £45 and 2hr trip each way and due to break downs and queues she had 1 ride !!!! cannot justify the cost for this .. Absolutely terrible and dissapointing for her.
Slow operations and too many dogs.
Flamingoland is a park I used to visit while growing up and I miss the way it used to be. The park wasn’t particularly busy but the operations were painfully slow, only running with 1 train on most rides. I personally think Sik, Velocity, Kumali and little monsters need more than one train/cart. This meant that we didn’t get on as many rides as we would have liked. There were way too many dogs. I just don’t know why people want to take their dogs to a busy/loud theme park. As someone who really considers animal welfare, I found it really upsetting to see so many dogs stressed to absolute bits due to the busy/loud environment. There were people with dogs off leads and someone even tied their dog up to the rails of cliff hanger (at the top of the queue), so they could ride it! I think flamingoland really needs to tighten its restrictions on dogs, particularly when there will be people frightened who also come to enjoy the park.
All in all it was an ok day but the park needs to get its act together with regards to ride operations. A queue of 40 people should not take 1 hour to get through. For this reason I wouldn’t be revisiting in a hurry.
Not the best for money
I took my nine year old. They chrage the same price both for adults and children 4+ which is £52.50 a ticket. That's ridiculous. There were a lot of rides not open and food places closed. Think the park needs updating.
Just came back from a weeks holiday…
Just came back from a weeks holiday there, staying in the basic caravan which was perfect for us( I do think a sweeping brush and some toilet brushes are required in the caravans though as we like to be staying in clean accommodation throughout the week not just on arrival) We reported a broken pot handle when we went out and it was replaced for us getting back. Most of the rides were on, glad to see flip flop open as this has been off when we have visited over the past few years. Family loved Sik, I experienced it once and that was enough for me. If you love the thrills then dont miss this. We all thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast in the Diner, kids had the waffles and the pancakes and loved it, Disappointed to see the Peter Rabbit decorative wall has not been restored. I have taken photos of my Grandchildren in front of that over the years and now for our last 2 holidays its not been there. I strongly feel this should be restored, some flowers and a Peter Rabbit image should not be too expensive to replace. Seeing them grow in this photo is a nice memory to have to look back on. We enjoyed walking around the Zoo and have some great pictures with the Lemurs interacting with the kids. I didnt get his name, but the very tall dark skinned man in Reception was very helpful to us, firstly arranging taxis for us and then when we realised the cost of getting to York station was going to cost around £100 we cancelled the taxis and was given clear directions how to get the bus to the station , he even arranged for staff to drive our luggage up to the park entrance for us so all we had to do was walk through the car park ,collect our luggage and walk 5 mins to the bus stop. £6 for 2 adults and 4 kids to get to York station. Perfect ! He even called me when we were on the bus to make sure we had got the bus ok, which I thought was a very thoughtful thing to do.
My older Grandchildren wont be coming next year to make way for their 3 year old siblings, I really hope the Peter Rabbit decorative wall will be there, so I can include them in our wee family tradition.
AVOID !!!!
AVOID !!!!
We stayed here 4 nights and what a disappointment, each day there were more rides not working than what was running but they still charged you the same as when all rides were running the zoo was spot the animals when we went to plan our day never happened my 4yr grandaughter had to pay full adult price ticket but if not the required height she couldnt ride the ride was there last year after covid and there was more open than this year DEFFO WONT BE RETURNING !!!
Far too many travellers seem to be controlling the rides and Park this place seems to have or gone down…
this place seems to have or gone down hill , 1 - far to expensive 2- caters for travellers , the place is full of them , holding up rides and rude people drinking groups of large people (travellers) not that there's anything wrong with 90% but the 10% ruin the experience for visiting families that's not from the travellers community i would really avoid, as walking through the park there are a number of travellers drinking constantly yes i know they was as they were constantly speaking and shouting about the fact they was travellers. total waste of money AVOID if you have younger kids not a good place
We arrived on Monday for our 4 night…
We arrived on Monday for our 4 night stay. We having been coming to Flamingoland for many years and often tell people how great it is. Not this time, we have been very disappointed. The evening entertainment for kids has been more for the adults, no mascot or kids party songs or dancing etc. We have not seen any shows on the out door stage either. Several rides have been closed throughout the week due to testing or breaking down. One of the days there were lots of rides closed and the rain was particularly bad so decided to come to the soft play area. 2 of the 4 children were allowed in but not the others due to a hight restriction (same aged children just 2 taller). We explained to the guy that alot of rides weren't working and we have been to the soft play twice already this week and not been challenged, the cafe is closed and no drinks available to buy for the hot kids. A year's build up to this holiday feels like a waste of money.
Will never return here
Will never return here, was in the park for less than an hour. Most of the rides were closed some due to weather and some due to maintenance. Spoke to Kate and rich at customer service they were not helpful.
Asked if we could change are tickets to the following day in hopes that some more ride would be open.
Traveled 3 hours to come to flamingo land to only spend 45 minutes walking around the park.
Over all it wasn’t a good experience
Also you have no management on shift to make executives decisions.
Awful - Avoid!
We paid £180 for 4 of us and the whole experience was poor. We did speak to customer services within an hour of entering but we were told to ask why the rides were closed ourselves (when we did we were told to go on something else and wait). Everytime we queued for a ride it would break down and be closed which wasted our time throughout the day. My youngest was limited to certain rides which were also closed so he hardly went on anything. The main rides were broken and shut. The food was poor and expensive. Most of the kiosks throughout the park were closed and the place didn’t seem prepared for opening (especially over an Easter Holiday period). The toilets were dirty. You don’t mind paying a lot of money if you get something good in return but this was awful and we will never return or recommend it to anyone!
Too many closed rides to justify very high cost
I was incredibly disappointed when I arrived to find a huge proportion of the rides closed. Flamingo Land is now in its regular season, so rides should be open. It seemed the rides for very young children were open, as well as the very fast rides, but almost everything in-between was closed, as well as multiple food kiosks and photo kiosks.
Although the website states which rides are open and closed, I booked in advance to save money, so I had no way of knowing at the point of payment.
I am disgusted that Flamingo Land are charging the full amount, when customers cannot get the full experience.
Before writing this review, I tried to get this resolved by contacting Flamingo Land. The only thing they could offer me was a 50% discount. To be able to get this 'compensation' I would have to spend even more money with them.
Very disappointed.
My family and I were on holiday near Flamingo Land and decided to go for the day, having previously been there in 2017, when our first child was 2, where we all had a very nice day!! This time though, was a totally different experience altogether. A good majority of the rides were closed due to low staffing levels, so this had a knock on effect with queuing times, which really affect our day. Staff who we spoke too, were either very embarrassed and apologetic, or couldn't of cared less. A lot of the animal enclosures were empty, and also couldn't be viewed from their indoor enclosure. Also the park appeared quite run down,
compared to our last visit. Expensive toy bought from the shop, broke before we had got back to the holiday park. To top all this off, we got a reply to our email regarding all this, 5 months after being sent, with an apology and a half price ticket offer, which anybody can purchase, from a number of websites. Just look at the reviews for this place and save you and your family's time and money! Will not be returning anytime soon!
Has gone downhill
I have emailed the company twice since our visit during the October half term and it took them over two months to respond with a very basic, canned response which has not been helpful to us in the slightest. hence why I have decided to post a review on here.
We have been attending the holiday park (a selection of caravans attached to the park with a club that allows park and zoo access) since 2018. We have always enjoyed our time at Flamingo Land, however this last trip was truly awful.
They have cut the majority of the activities that we actually go and attend the park for, one of them being "stalk in the park". I understand that the coach house at the top of the car park was condemned, however your very best years for stalk in the park were when you actually...did it in the park anyway, so why not do that this year? Without it, the "Halloween" activities were only suitable for toddlers.
We also tried to book onto the famous "Walk on the wildside" which is honestly the highlight of our trip every year, however this year we were told it was ONLY on a Tuesday - every other year it has been on a Wed and a Sat to cover off both sides of the week that people stay. I understand that you were avoiding the fireworks (great idea btw) however, why not stick to the same routine and put a Thursday/Friday WOW as well so that people who stay towards the weekend can go?
As for the fireworks - a joke. A literal joke, if I had paid just for those I would have been sorely disappointed. They were also advertised as silent ones (we wouldn't have minded either way) however only half were silent and the rest normal so if you have a scared child don't believe the advertising.
The food options were also atrocious. We normally eat one meal a day in the park and this year was no exception. We ate at Metropolis, The Diner, The Chinese takeaway and the Coach house. The food generally is okay, nothing to write home about but not inedible. The Chinese (an independent outfit may I add) was as normal, however, the food in all three of the other venues was literally disgusting, I've never been so disappointed and the poor staff were so over run with failing technologies and not enough people to serve properly. Stinks of Flamingo Land greed.
The toilets and general upkeep of the park used to be okay, however this year I was genuinely concerned for the health of the animals, especially in the farm area. There was rubbish flying about everywhere and there seemed to be no one around picking this up. Myself and the kids cleared some other peoples rubbish up because we saw some peacocks getting a bit too close and didn't want them to get hurt. When we went to the toilets by the Zoo (which are normally very clean and looked after) they were disgusting, smelly, toilet roll everywhere, and several were clogged and broken. No one was around to help.
The price has shot through the roof and I can't see any reason why. The park has really gone down hill and the only investment made is for SIK, a ride made for them to compete with bigger parks I guess, but only if you go for the rides. Flamingo Land used to be the best place because it had things for everyone, zoo, activities, rides that were for all sizes and now, it's like they don't care at all.
I checked - it's nearly 50% cheaper to attend Centre Parcs for our Halloween trip next year. Centre Parcs. Please let that sink in.
Visited on the 23rd of December for…
Visited on the 23rd of December for probably the last of my sons Santa experiences at 9yrs old- this probably sealed it for him :-( overall including the entry for 3 adults and a child (£90 ish) seen as there are very few animals left and the rides are very very old and only for little ones then we really only visited to see Santa. Last year it was good, the staff (elf’s) were enthusiastic and convincing and Santa was great. This year the Santa was too slim and too young in my sons opinion, some but not all of the staff were miserable and spoilt it for my sons experience. Last year we all got a passport and got to do the activities- this year only my son got a passport and the activities himself- I was expecting the experience to grow and improve and have been recommending it to friends however after our visit I would recommend this as a strong avoid!!! Apparently Castle Howard’s experience is very good so don’t waste a penny at flamingo land.
awful
awful - rowdy people rule the campsite and staff do not give a damn!
Great stay
Great stay! Nice food and amazing cottage! Will certainly be back
Place was a dump
Place was a dump. Rides are dated slow no food places. security thought they were the police. You want a tramps holiday this is the place. Wouldn’t go back if you paid me. Holiday lodge was basic. Bed was broken. Mattresses were something you buy out Argos for 80 quid. Horrendous sleep!
Dreadful service
Visited today with the family. Park very untidy with rubbish lying around however kids had a good time. However on leaving the park at 5.50 (Park closed at 6.00) one of the kids was hungry so stopped at the food place at the exit. We were told no food was being served as the park closed at 6.00 even though we could see fries sitting on the warmer. We then opted for a bottle of pop and a packet of crisps and joined the queue to pay. However when we reached the counter we were told that the wouldn't serve us as it was 6.00 and they were closed. I dropped the money on the counter and walked out. If the food pla r was open later it could take a fortune as there were a lot of hungry people refused to be served. I won't be going back again as the customer service was diabolical and if I could give it no stars I would. Don't take hungry children to flamingo lanf
