Fascinating and informative guided foraging walk

We booked in for Gavin's foraging course at the Great British Food Festival, his knowledge was absolutely fantastic and we throughly enjoyed learning about some of the safer things novices can forage. Him and his wife are an epic duo, with plenty of forage based products to try we left feeling inspired and getting to try a little something new. Fully recommend!

We met Gavin and his wife at the Food Festival at Ashridge.
Having never taken part in a foraging walk we weren’t sure what to expect.
Gavin lead our walk, the information he had about the plants and flowers was so interesting and for half an hour we were captivated by his wealth of knowledge.
We tried the nettle cordial and dandelion honey. Both delicious. We’ve purchased the three foraging books and the cook book and can’t wait to start exploring, foraging and working our way through the cookery book!
We’ve come away with elderflower cordial which will be enjoyed by everyone.
Highly recommend if you want to do something a little different at a food festival this summer.

Gavin was the best! My husband and I did the foraging experience at the Great British Food Festival in Scotland and the man honestly gave us more information about 5-squared metres of plants in 45 minutes than we thought possible (Stinging nettles are actually the best!)

Went on a short intro-to-foraging walk with Gavin at the Great British Food Festival in Dalkeith. He was very personable, easy to talk to, and an incredibly knowledgeable forager. He patiently answered the questions of us foraging newbies, and imparted a range of tidbits about indigenous British plants. He also found time to burst a childhood placebo. Would 100% recommend a tour & chat with Gavin for anyone looking to connect with nature a little more (a bonus shout out to the expertly made brownies which we sampled, made with a number of foraged ingredients!)
