I was shocked to receive 2 out of 8 NGC Mint State gold coins damaged- one with 1" scratch on rt upper and the other with 2" tear on left edge that can be lifted & 2X1 cm hole on rt edge. I called & Eric sent a prepaid return label for coins to be returned & swapped out which is good.
I thought a lot about me being scammed because they never asked which 2 specific coins were damaged to be returned so I called again to get acknowledgement from Carl with slab ID#. How often do you get damaged NGC slabs esp.on high grade gold coins? Probably nil. I was thinking shipper maybe intentionally sent them so I would return them.Shipper would deny receiving them & I would be out of a lot of money. Another reason why I said this is because the return label list shipping from address in Phoenix to address in Irvine, CA without my name on it. Carl said that their shipping co. is in Irvine but I have no way of knowing that since my package was sent from Phoenix.
Burden of proof is on me so I have to protect myself. I took photos of damaged slabs with Priority small flat rate box with label & brought it to Post Office 2-8th. There was a long line.She gave me a receipt & I took a photo of her with package.
You cannot imagine the mental anguish this has caused. I was very upset that I could not focus on anything else not knowing if package will arrive tomorrow at correct shipping address or if swapping will be done right,etc.
All I can say is this should never have happened. Very bad experience

This was my first time buying gold. I had looked into it years ago, but just didn't know enough to know who to trust! With the economy looking so bad and the dollar about to collapse, I decided to start educating myself again about gold and silver. I ended up ordering silver... it arrived safely, in a good size box, taped up and inconspicuous, (I didn't want to advertise to everyone that I was buying silver).

Here is my only real issue. When I was researching and getting to know the many gold/ silver outlets I focused on this one, Gold and Silver Online, and a couple of others. I emailed a few questions to this site and stated in the email that -at least to start off- I didn't want any phone calls, just email responses. I didn't give a reason, didn't think I needed to -or- that they would even care! My main reason was because my mom was coming for the holidays and planning to stay a while. I was hoping to talk with her about buying gold or silver due to my concerns with the economy. However, she's in her 80's and I just didn't think she'd take just my word for it. I figured if I could ask some questions via email, get some *personal* responses back and then read them to her... she would definitely consider purchasing. She has a good amount in savings, especially since my Dad died, and I'd hate to see her lose it all. Eric Griffin respond quickly to my first email, and I appreciated that, but when I sent him the second follow up email asking what exactly was the ACH system for payment? -and- why is the American Silver Eagle more expensive than others? ... he responded quickly again, (although I did not put any time limit on a response or any pressure for an immediate answer... it was more important to me to *get* an answer -and a correct one- than to get one quickly), but this time he passed me off to a Genia asking me to *call* because "It will be a lot easier to do over the phone." Not for me!

Well, my mom came over the holidays... I talked to her about putting some money into gold or silver and just as I thought, she had questions. If I had emails in writing (not a "FAQ") showing her that I had already asked these questions -and- not only got my questions answered, professionally, I think she would have done it. If not then, after I received my shipment safely. Now she's home alone (in another state) and I just don't think she'll do it or ask for help on how to go about doing it... just too scary for her. For that, I am very disappointed.
