Dodgy, Bad Quality Products

Dodgy, bad quality products. AVOID.

I bought an ‘As New’ iPhone 15 Pro Max and it was great for the first couple of weeks… Then it stopped detecting my SIM card so I had to send it back for a replacement. The original phone had a cycle count of 85 and perfect battery health, the replacement had a cycle count of 577 and 84% battery health… This is essentially the same as a 2-year old phone that was heavily used. I reached out and asked why this was considered ‘As New’ and they claimed the quality is based purely on aesthetics, not the actual performance of the phone.

Additionally, the cost of the phone dropped massively between when I bought it and when they sent the replacement, but no partial refund was offered (despite the massive inconvenience of not having a phone for 2 weeks) which didn’t sit right with me. Good customer service is important to me and they missed the mark there.

I ended up returning the phone for a full refund and bought another one from a different company which has been fantastic. I will never shop with GreenGadgets again!

Onsell to Jb Hi-Fi and do not honour claims.

Sell to Jb Hi-Fi who are their onseller.
Warranty claim went on for 5+ months with me dealing with bots and infuriating requests that were not possible. Hide behind a "portal" and send correspondence from multiple e-mail addresses. Do not read correspondence sent.
There are several legitimate sites that can provide service. Green Gadgets is not one of them.

I've purchased 2 phones

I've purchased 2 phones. 1st was a replacement for my Samsung Note 10 plus limited edition star wars. I was devastated when my daughter spilt a beer over my original one and I found it had the tiniest crack in the camera lenses. The beer managed to find its way in.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the only one left anywhere was at greengadgets and cheaper than any of the other original models.

The phone has run perfectly for another 2 years and the only issue is the battery life is not as good as my original, not terrible but definitely needing to be charged earlier in the day.

The phone is a 2019 model and nearly 7 years later I am ready to upgrade and retire it to its collectors box.

Earlier this year I purchased an IPhone Pro Max 14. I haven't used Apple for 13 years and I don't really like them, however, I decided to give it a go for content creation. Using the IPhone for content and my Note 10 for everyday.

The Iphone was perfect until it started to get intermittent issues with the touch screen in the top left corner where I would have to press around the area to get it to work. It wouldn't actually work directly pressing the place I should be pressing. This only occurred once or twice a day but it was rather annoying.

I was asked to reset the phone and replicate the issue and if it did occur again, video and email them so they could see it. This was done and this entire process from emailing with the issue, tech support and resolving it was 2 days.

I've now arranged a refund so I can purchase the S24 Ultra as I have found the Iphone frustrating and I have since found out the moving between Apple and Android is easier than it used to be. Had the Iphone not had this issue, this option would not have been available to me. I was actually expecting to just have the phone replaced, so I was pleasantly surprised that they informed me this was an option.

Now the slow bit occurs, I will need to purchase a new phone and risk not getting a refund.

I don't believe this will be an issue as the phone is in a quadlock case, which if you use one, is extremely rugged. I have already checked it over and there is no scratches that were not there before, which were very minor, and no cracks in the glass. I will photograph and video the phone moments before packing the phone and sealing it in the postage bag and then email that to the company email address.

I estimate a 2 week turn around from express post from Perth to Eastern States, check over phone and refund of money.

So in total between purchasing the new phone and sending the Iphone back I think the process will be about 3 to 4 weeks.

I have been very happy with greengadgets products and service. Having read other reviews from here and other refurbished companies I am taking precautions with regards to send the phone back under warranty. However, considering how helpful and professional they have been, I am not expecting any issues.

I understand people have had problems with refurbished products, but that is what can happen with any second hand product.

Hopefully this long review does give a honest indepth opinion and is helpful to those looking at using greengadets.

purchased a 'good condition' phone, product matched cosmetic description

purchased a 'good condition' refurbished Google Pixel 7 Pro, which on the website was described as having 'more obvious signs of wear such as significant scratches, blemishes, scuff marks and/or small chips.'. See attached photos of the 2 scratches on the screen, 1 deep scratch down the middle and one smaller scratch on the right side of the screen, also minor scuff marks on the edges and sides of the phone. Battery health is at well over 80% as promised as well. I am blown away by the value and the quality of the phone, and honestly, after it goes in its case, the scratches and blemishes will be barely noticeable.
It costs $379 with free standard shipping, almost half as much as new and is a great value even at lower condition grades and arrived within the advertised time frame. 10/10 will use again

Bought a used iPhone 11 in April '24 and it won't work on Aussie 4G networks

Bought a used iPhone 11 in April '24. It was purchased to support 4G with the impending closure of 3G. Initial appearance and operation was great. However, we recently started getting alerts from our carrier that it has limitations after the 3G closure. It turns out that the handset model was targeted for the US market and doesn't support band 28 - the main 4G band in regional Australia. All contacting Green Gadgets achieved was for them to tell me that the phone operates and it does not have a defect and their advice was to talk to my carrier or find an alternate carrier. My issue is that if I buy a handset in Australia, I expect it to work in Australia. This one won't when 3G closes only 6 months after purchase.

UPDATE:
Their dispute resolution just gave a generic vague response to my set of specific clarifying questions about how to resolve my dispute.
They also stated that it wasn't their fault that the 3G network was shutting down.
Waste of time trying to resolve. In reality, it smells like they probably don't have Aussie compatible handsets to offer.

IN SUMMARY, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

They are not as honest as they claim to be

I ordered a refurbished Galaxy s9 plus via their ebay store.

It arrived very promptly and was in the sort of condition I would expect for a phone listed as "good" condition. What I was surprised by is that it was an American model linked to AT&T. At first I did not think this was too much of an issue, however after a few days of research I found out that if any updates were released I would not be able to update the firmware of my phone without side loading or flashing my phone. I should have requested a refund as soon as I noticed this and instead left it as the phone was working very smoothly and unfortunately I had left very positive feedback for them after 24 hours of use.

Then a crack developed in the glass back of the phone overnight without any obvious reason as to why. I had an s9 since they had come out and had never had any issues with the back glass plating on my old phone. This one appeared out of nowhere without being dropped, roughly handled or bent and the photos I sent through clearly showed there was no additional damage to the phone.

I was offered a chance to send the phone back for repair or replacement, however I decided not too as the cost would be more than the cost of a replacement glass panel. Plus there was no guarantee that I would get a phone that could be updated in Australia. They did not advertise their product as American stock, it was clearly listed as Aus stock which I took to mean that it would be an Australian update compatible phone.

They were polite in their emails and reasonably helpful until I mentioned that I put a hydro gel cover over the front of the phone to cover the scratches and protect it form more harm. They sent a generic email stating my warranty had been voided for modifying my phone. I sought clarification as to why and they backpedaled stating they misunderstood what I had done to the phone.

By this stage it was pretty clear that I had messed up by not getting a refund the second I realised the phone was not an Australian model. The crack in the paneling had already put me on the back foot despite it not being my fault as there was no way I could prove it happened of its own accord. This left all the power in their hands and the cost of insured postage was far too costly to run the risk of paying for a warranty job only to have them deny any liability.

Looking at their reviews many people have had similar issues and gotten nowhere quickly or been offered a "new" phone at a slightly lower than advertised price so I decided to cut my losses and never buy from them again.

I take partial responsibility for this as I should have demanded a full refund when I discovered the phone was not an Australian model. Having said that they should also be very clear in their product descriptions what a buyer is getting in to.

Dodgy website and obviously fake reviews

I was thinking about buying a mobile phone from here but seeing the reviews not being great with obviously internal staff placing the only good ratings. also i found in a Samsung Galaxy A8 (Refurbished) description is randomly placed HAHAHA's throughout ie.

Whether out at night or caught in the dark, you'll capture the scene clearly with the HAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAroved low-light capability on the Galaxy A8 and A8+'s rear camera. Its bright F1.7 lens, larger 1.12㎛ pixels, and bigger 1/2.8” sensor bring in light from the environment to make photos crisp and detailed.

Get informed without waking up your phone. The Always on Display screen is always available and contains HAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAortant information like date, time, notifications, and even battery level.

If they cant even get the website organised and looking professional why would anyone even consider purchasing anything .
