Needed a draw front to complete a repair for a customer, got to the branch late in the day, but no problem. The item was in stock and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Called Howdens to measure up for a kitchen, they came out, measured, then I went to see them in “Blackpool Mowbray Drive”
Not realising, they were a franchise, and my fitter uses the Poulton branch.
My bad
Anyway, I went to see them to look at a design and was quoted £21k. I was totally shocked. B&Q had quoted me £14k to include an LVT floor throughout.
The guy at Howdens on Mowbray Drive told me he would email me a 3 D design and he would speak to the manager to try to get the price down.
It’s been 11 days and I’ve not heard a thing. In the meantime my fitter said I had used the wrong Howdens, I’m thinking oh, no big deal, I’m sure they can transfer me to the Poulton office. I called Mowbray Drive today, to let them know I have not heard anything back about the price or an email with a 3D plan and could they transfer it to the Poulton office. Lindy did not want to transfer my measurements to their Poulton branch. After going back and forth with Lindy the manager, she put the phone down on me 😱, she had suggested that she wanted to speak to the person who had designed the kitchen to see if what I was saying was true, so I asked her if she found it was the truth would she then transfer my measurements, she avoided answering me and repeated that she needed to speak to him and she would call me back on Monday, so I asked again, the reason I asked again was because if she had said no we still can’t transfer it, I would have told her not to call me back, I didn’t see a need. If I can’t have my measurements I would have just gone to Poulton and asked them to re-draw it. I certainly didn’t need
To know the outcome of her conversation with the guy who measured the kitchen, none of my business. I called back and told her how rude that was to put the phone down on me. No discussion around her about to put the phone down, nothing courteous about it. She put the phone down because she had said she would speak to the guy who measured because he would be in trouble if it was true that he had not followed it up with me and he could have got the price down. I asked Lindy, that when she speaks to him, to find out if it was indeed true, would she then be able to transfer me to Poulton, she kept avoiding my question, and this is when she put the phone down. I am totally shocked at the service.
If you take recommendations, please be careful of Howdens, particularly the terrible service from Lindy at Howdens on Mowbray Drive Blackpool. Extremely unprofessional behaviour!
Update. So I booked in a new measure with Howdens in Poulton, but within 10 minutes they have cancelled, stating it was because of feedback and my review online 😂. They offered to get the area manager to call me back, which he just did. I explained what happened and he told me he got a different story from the manager on Mowbray Drive. Well he would have cause she wants revenge I suppose because I’m not using them! Anyway, there are PLENTY of other kitchen suppliers out there. I am still shocked that they can be so rude, turn the tables on you, and the area manager believes the store manager, just because! No way of proving I was not rude. Which I 100% wasn’t. Why would I be, I still want to use Howdens, it would make no sense for me to be rude!! But hey ho!
Moral of the story! Targets breeds bad behaviour among staff and ultimately this is the reason why they would not transfer me to the Poulton branch! If I am going to use Howdens anyway, then Howdens wouldn’t be losing out! Targets was the cause of this poor service! I won’t lose any sleep. I could have totally understood if I was wanting the measurements to transfer them to another kitchen supplier, but I JUST wanted to transfer from Howdens to Howdens. Non-sensical that they could not do that! If you wanted to charge me £50 for his time and then transfer my measurements to another of your branches, you could have even offered that.
I am a 60 year old pensioner who lives alone. I have no knowledge of how Howdens work or how to measure myself. I am staying in Oxfordshire at the minute due to my house undergoing extensive renovations, so difficult for me to arrange another measure. But now I need to look at other suppliers, so that I will do. If I get through to only ONE person with this review, then I have done my job!
One thing my Dad taught me was, if you receive bad service don’t give them your money. Go elsewhere. Great lesson.
Howdens have a lot of good reviews and some bad. But when the stores bonus’s are affected then the service turns bad. All I wanted was the best price possible, but was not allowed to transfer to another of THEIR stores due to targets! Lindy lied, and there are no recordings to prove this! The service was therefore very bad!

Howdens Blackpool, the only depot in the north west to go to...... youll be doing yourself no favours trying the other depots, this one has all you need and from your first enquiry through tte planning and right through to fitting , you have endless support and tge staff are so helpful and efficient ,id highly recommend this branch.

Your staff our fabulous, unfortunately the system is a little bit lacking . The designer who did our plans left the company the day our kitchen was delivered. So there was no one the really have a moan at .

Have just bought a Fitted Bedroom from Howdens in Blackpool. Had to comment on the extremely helpful Designer, Nathan who did numerous designs for us without any complaint whatsoever. One of the best examples of customer service I have experienced in many years.

First class customer service. The staff at Howdens Mobray Drive helped me with a minor problem with my fridge/freezer. Lindy the manager arranged for a replacement, no problem at all, keeping me informed as to progress and within 48 hours I had a new appliance installed. The technicians arrived at 8.30am prompt, completing the job quickly and neatly within the hour. Thank you Howdens, I'm one very pleased customer!

We were visited by Rosie in August 2024, who measured up and designed a new kitchen.
We visited store to finalise the plans.
We were told that we would receive the plans once we had paid the deposit, but, to date, and despite asking multiple times, we have never received the plans.
When Rosie visited us at home she brought a business card of Daniel Smith - DGS Joinery and recommended him.
We asked Dan around and agreed a price and start date with him. Dan and his team worked hard and professionally, though Dan seemed to be mostly project managing.
The team all were dressed in Howdens branded clothing.
There were snagging issues, which we raised with Dan immediately, and there have been fitting issues causing problems. It's been difficult to get Dan back, but most issues have been resolved.
However, a major issue is that the joins in the worktops are really rough and unsightly, and this is unresolved.
This was reported to Dan straight away and he said he needed to come back with a special tool to tighten up the joins. This took him sometime to do and, after using the special tool, there was no improvement.
Dan said he would go back to Howdens as the worktops must be warped, but he never did go back to them.
After chasing Dan for some time, I visited Howdens myself at the end of January. I made it a 'friendly' visit- I wasn't rude at all. Lindy took notes and said she would come back to me.
Two weeks later I hadn't heard anything, so I sent a gentle email saying I was disappointed that they hadn't responded. I said I would find an independent fitter to come and look at the worktops.
Lindy then replied to say they would send their own independent fitter to look and he came out a few days later. He said that the worktops were warped, but thought the fitter could have done a better job.
Howdens have since responded to say their quality department will not do anything about this as the fitter should have raised an issue at the time.
Howdens say that the worktop is warped 'now', but say that's due to poor fitting. By the fitter they recommended.
The worktop is under a 1 year guarantee, but they are simply not interested as they are blaming the fitter.
So, now I am stuck between a fitter and Howdens.
My issue is that Howdens recommended this fitter specifically, even bringing his business card to my home.
The fitter that Howdens recommended and his team all wore Howdens branded workwear (though Howden's just say this is just free promotional merchandise).
It feels like I've been scammed with an offer of a guarantee that they won't honour as they are blaming the fitter.
My only option now is to find my own independent fitter and take legal advice.
It's very upsetting and frustrating and I would strongly advise anyone NOT to use Howdens and more specifically, avoid their worktops because they are absolutely awful quality.
