I had a very disappointing experience with a storage auction through this company.
I won auction **311H** and paid the full amount of **£3.872**, which according to their own terms creates a legally binding contract. I then arranged collection, including hiring an additional vehicle, paying a colleague £200 to assist, and taking a full day off work.
When I arrived to collect the unit, I was informed that the sale had been cancelled and that I would be refunded. Shortly after, I discovered that the same unit had been relisted again.
This raises serious concerns about fairness and transparency. There is no clear justification in their terms for cancelling a completed sale after full payment has been made, especially when the unit is then relisted.
As a result, I lost time and money, and the whole process felt unreliable and unprofessional.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious when bidding, as there appears to be a real risk that even after winning and paying, the sale may not be honoured.

As per our email response to you, we have acted in accordance with the terms and conditions of our website. These website terms were the same terms you agreed to when you joined our platform.
As per our T&C’s we are not the sellers of the units; we provide the platform on which sellers list their auctions. As such, any decision to withdraw an auction is made solely by the seller and is unfortunately beyond our control. It rarely happens that auctions are cancelled, but it is the seller’s right to cancel an auction up until collection has taken place and it is allowed on our website.
We never sent you the confirmation that the auction had been won by you, and that you should contact the seller to arrange collection. Our T&C’s state that buyers are “strictly prohibited from traveling to the storage facility prior to receipt of the official "Winner Email" and confirmation of collection from the Seller”. "Traveling to the facility before receiving these two forms of confirmation is considered a breach of contract".
iBidOnStorage has acted in accordance with our terms and conditions at all times and has not made any errors in this instance. Your review is unjust.

Hi Guys
I have had a number of wins on this site all been easy the site itself is ok not sure if they are the ones that inspected each unit prior to the sale???
I have is the issues with the actual storage companies On arrival I have found that any thing of value had already been removed from the lockers
All the boxes had all been gone through on questioning this was as told its procedure
So be very aware if you try this out

Answer: No, iBidOnStorage does not inspect or handle any of the items in the units. We are not the Sellers of the goods and do not have access to the units. The storage facilities themselves are responsible for uploading the auctions and managing the contents.

Answer: Transparency is important to us. Many of the storage facilities listed on iBidOnStorage are members of the UK Self Storage Association (SSA UK), which requires them to follow strict guidelines. This includes conducting inventory checks to ensure that no illegal or harmful items are included in the units. The process is in place to serve both the original owners and the auction winners.
We always recommend that buyers bid based on what they can see in the auction photos and descriptions, rather than what they expect to find in the unit.

iBid's Failure to Cooperate & Shielding the Seller
iBidOnStorage is actively shielding a seller involved in selling stolen property and is refusing to cooperate despite legal and police intervention.
🚨 The Legal Case & Supporting Evidence
A legally binding court judgment (Case No: M7QZ5424) was issued on February 12, 2025, confirming that Access Self Storage unlawfully sold my property.
The stolen items were later sold through iBid to a trader called Nassim Bessi / NY Best Deals Ltd (Company No: 15418654).
The matter is under active police investigation (Metropolitan Police Report Ref: 01/7101693/25) and Action Fraud inquiry (Ref: NFRC250207160350).
eBay has also acknowledged the issue and has requested police confirmation before removing the stolen items from sale (eBay Case Ref: 1-490696986465).
❌ iBid's Failure to Cooperate & Shielding the Seller
Despite overwhelming evidence and an official court ruling proving the sale was unlawful, iBid:
🔹 Refuses to provide the seller’s contact details, obstructing legal action.
🔹 Ignores multiple formal requests to assist in resolving the case.
🔹 Makes excuses rather than ensuring their platform is not used for illegal activity.
🚨 Why This is Serious:
iBid facilitated the sale of stolen goods—and now they are covering up for the buyer instead of helping.
Their refusal to cooperate raises serious ethical and legal concerns about their business practices.
If they allow stolen property to be sold through their platform without any accountability, what else are they allowing?

However, if you are concerned about anything please take a look at our website www.ibidonstorage.co.uk and you will see all auctions are genuine abandoned goods. We sell for the largest national storage brands in the UK. All sellers show their brand and location. These sellers would not risk their reputation by removing items from units. It would result in a litigation and reputational risk. These seller's are only interested in clearing unpaid units as quickly as possible.

I like the idea but the website is so terrible. I've never used a terrible site like this. It constantly crashes and it's impossible to reach the website owners. They never respond to emails. I think it might be a scam.
Response to the reply from iBidOnStorage. My name is obviously not Erick. The reply you just gave us tells me how serious your business is when you can't figure out that I'd use a fake name. Didn't matter. I got suspended anyway.

Highly recommend for abandoned storage units
I have been using Ibid for about 8 months and have won about six different auctions in that time. I would highly recommend this website. The process from viewing the different units up for auction, to bidding and then the process afterwards is all very slick and simple.
The communication with staff after winning an auction has been great with staff very helpful.
I plan on using this site as a means of making extra money in addition to a day job for the foreseeable future.
My only suggestion for them to consider is that from the point where you win an auction you have two days to attend the storage unit and collect the items. The other main competitor for online auctions gives you seven days. If you have a Monday to Friday 8-4 job this makes it difficult to attend if an auction finishes on a Mon/Tue/Wed night. It would be helpful if the two day period was increased to five or seven days. Most people in reality are going to want to go get the contents as soon as they can. But the difficulty is a lot of storage places close at 5pm and if its several hours away from where you live.

By the way, you actually have 3 days to collect the goods not two. You can also call the storage operator directly and ask for a few more days to collect. They will almost always allow it!

ibid are probably the best company I deal with,there have been times when things have not gone to plan but they have always pulled out all the stops and sorted it straight away. you'll only find out how good a company is when you need their help.
