Awful customer support. They automate their ban/appeal process. You CANNOT talk to a human. If you're unlucky enough to get falsely banned, you just lost your account for good.

Greedy and Incompetent
Jagex has single handedly ruined RuneScape. From unreasonable price rises and underhanded grabs at more cash to the sheer incompetence of it's staff. You pay extra to turn a rare item into an untradable cosmetic and secure your account with pin access in game, and even though they have seen that you have been hacked, they outright refuse to return items that are worth sometimes hundreds in real money. I have cancelled my membership, I will never ever pay for anything by these scam artists again. I am moving on to Brighter Shores, figuratively and literally as I move to Andrew Gowers new game which is less than half the membership cost of RuneScape, contains no micro transactions and never will and even have a decent team working on the game providing daily improvements.

I have played this game since 2005. Firstly, they massacred my boy with the evolution of combat. Now they are destroying it completely zith corporate greed.

20 Years Down The Drain
Been playing since 2004 on the same account. Went to log in and my character no longer exists. Put in a request to get help and was immediately sent a denial email. There is no other support option other than predefined forms with auto replies. I have everything proving account ownership since 2004, including membership payment history. To lose something with so much time and money into it is heart breaking. Myself, my wife, and my kids will no longer support this company or their games and have already canceled their memberships and uninstalled. GG Jagex.

Great game ran by a shit company. Jagex is shady, will auto permanently ban accounts with no evidence and claim RWT or Macroing to control the RS economy once you hit a certain GP threshold. Zero customer support, The Moderators are Useless. Stay away unless you want to waste hours upon hours until the ban hammer drops. Would give it a 0/5 if possible.

Jagex are textbook what happens to a company when corporate greed takes over and the board room makes all the decisions.
It's also a textbook case of what happens when inclusively, playing dress up and political agendas are considered more important than rescuing their dying game.
If Jagex cared for you then why didn't they reverse RS3 in 2013/14? Why commit to a microtransaction hellscape ? Because money and because they needed money to bloat their workforce out with massive HR, project management, risk management and diversity roles which have nothing to do with gaming but spread like cancer all the same.

So glad y’all can raise prices but not fix customer support after having terrible support for 20 years. I will be running bots from now on to screw the game over since y’all are incapable of running it properly. You reap what you sew
They steal your money and ban your account without cause.
My account was then banned for allegedly real world trading. I appealed trusting it to have been a mistake. A simple review of my game history would have confirmed nothing of the sorts occurred. My appeal was denied. Jagex waits for you to pay for a year upfront and then steals your money. Don’t waist your money on this terrible company.

Jagex’s “nonexistent” Customer Support
there’s a huge reason this is one star rating and will continue to be one star for a lot of people until Jagex does at least SOMETHING.. i mean ANYTHINGGG to give the paying customers help & support with any and all issues they may experience with(in) the game. i understand this isn’t a small job, but i can’t name a single company that doesn’t have at least some form of customer service that allows you to speak with someone directly to address and discuss any problems, concerns, or suggestions. they claim to have different social media accounts and even more specific accounts directed for support specifically (ex. @jagexsupport on x/twitter). which i’ve wrote to multiple times on separate occasions and received no replies whatsoever.
God forbid you get banned in game or even worse, WRONGFULLY banned, and you can’t even talk to anyone to clear up the issue - let alone find out what you did that actually caused the ban. you can submit a ticket to appeal your ban id that’s the case and ask whatever questions you have or whatever you’d like… but you won’t get any reply… it’ll just show that they either accepted or denied your appeal. my main issue wasn’t getting any ban reversed. i just wanted to know what occurred that triggered this ban because i wanted to know what triggered it. i feel like i was wrongfully banned and i wanted to see why i was banned besides just their word. i wanted to know what caused it. plain and simple. if i was wrong, i’d want to make sure i’d never do whatever it was again. unfortunately, i STILL have no idea and doubt i ever will on why my account was banned. the reasoning is another story - my point is that as a paying customer and long time player of old school runescape, i feel like if something happened to me and i felt cheated out of something i earned, the least i should be able to do, is speak with someone about it.
if you click the “contact us” button on the runescape/ old school runescape part of the jagex website, the only thing that comes up are 5 of their FAQ’s. i wish this was a joke but i am totally serious. at the bottom of the page there is a thumbs up and thumbs down button so you can rate how helpful they (jagex) has been by answering your questions or concerns with one of the five frequently asked questions. …are you kidding me? i want to CONTACT SUPPORT. i have an issue that STILL needs to be addressed as it could potentially lead to a lot more players getting their accounts hacked/scammed & losing all progress on their accounts. if anyone from jagex sees this, i am BEGGING you to reach out. more people are no doubt getting scammed every second i don’t speak with a jagex employee. i am trying to help. i have a SOLID amount of information, screenshots and an identical website URL that is scamming players right now. i would hope jagex would want to see and deal with this ASAP because its putting their customers at risk. i lost everything today and i can’t even contact jagex about it to see what i can do. their customer support is nonexistent.. it’s such a shame. they have such great potential and they’re ruining it by not being there for the people supporting their games. it’s more than a slap in the face when you’ve been as dedicated as long as many others & i have been with jagex. i have never felt seen or appreciated as a customer. their enormous lack of any type of customer service is pathetic.please just try to do better.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever! There's ZERO customer service, Jmods that use bots ingame to snatch RSNs and sell for money from players and now promote young, inexperienced players to work for them which have access to everyone's account and card details. The game is now a shambles while they increase memberships above the rate of inflation. Played for over 20 years and had to say goodbye to the game. It's just not worth it anymore.
