Don't like them at all. I have a personal loan with them and they add interest and you will never see how much or how often. They don't even issue monthly statements . I have an open case with the FDIC as they are FDIC insured. I opened it a couple weeks ago and Jenius acknowledged, but haven't responded

Got a $40,000 loan through Credit Karma from Jenius Bank. The application process was pretty straightforward, and yes they had to confirm a few income things for a loan this size. Once approved, I had the funds I think in less than a day. Paying was very simple through the app. And when I inherited some funds and paid off the loan early, it was easy to do with no issues or early payment fees.

Very easy to work with them. Hope that the savings account is as simple to use for both saving and accessing larger funds given the great rate they offer.

My advice: DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO JENIUS BANK. YOU MAY NEVER GET IT BACK. From what I can tell, this pathetic bank often refuses legitimate withdrawal requests which comply with all the bank’s so-called policies. Their “customer service” people appear to have no authority to do anything. They will just repeat the bank’s usual BS platitudes about “looking into it” and “doing everything we can.”

Jenius gets very poor reviews for a reason. AVOID THIS “BANK” AT ALL COSTS.

Well... I tried. I really liked what their marketing offers. But the actual mechanics of making it work are completely defunct.

I tried to open a high-yield online savings account - twice. No email confirmation, so no User ID, etc. The second time around, I paid more attention to the process. Nope, no setup of a UserID.

They did manage to complete the small withdrawal/deposit to my bank account, but that was the ONLY step that functioned. And it only functioned for ONE of my attempts. I tried this twice.

Both times that I completed the process, it claims to have set me up a new savings account. Each attempt provided me with a new account number.

But the second attempt - once I entered all of my same information - it didn't even recognize that I had already opened an account.

So, yeah. Zero trust in this process.

I know I could probably call them, and go through that whole merry-go-round of setup, and cleanup... but I shouldn't have to. Otherwise, what's the point in having an online account?

Lol God knows what He is doing when you get denied by this bank. Be grateful that you dodged the bullet. I received a letter saying I had applied for a loan, which i never did. I do not allow hard inquiries by multiple lenders I did a rate check and they said I applied for credit.

Mmm scandolous... so with a credit score in the high 700s,they reported an inaccurate credit score by Transunion, my credit score was 15 points higher than what was.printed on the letter. They said i had a RECENT derogatory late payment. Recent is six months. One late payment 4 years ago is not recent. I rarely used that card and forgot I had charged something small and forgot to pay it. Green check marks for the past six years on that account. THEN they wrote that I had a hign balance on student loans. Umm my student loans were discharged after I was deemed P&T by the VA. Balances on accounts are too high....hmm thats funny since I make extra payments on any account, never the minimum. So, my advice to anyone, to hell with shopping for good rates with these scrappy banks that have to have a play on words in their name. They do not review your history thats for damn sure. I called my CREDIT UNION that I have had since 1999 fresh out of boot camp, answered some questions on the phone. Got the lowest rate for that term limit, signed the promissory note that was emailed while I was still on the phone with the loan officer and BADABING, funded!! DONT trust these goons. Stick with your bank that you have been dealing with that know you are good and credit worthy as your score proves!

The initial set up (May 2024) was a bit cumbersome. But if you're patient and take the time to provide all the correct information requested, the benefit is worth the time to set up. The bank statements are simple and easy to read. I took $50k from my regular bank account, which was earning 0 .10 % interest and moved it to Jenius , which was initially offering a 5.5 % and when the market changed, it went down to 4.20% , which has continued to hold at 4.20% for over a year now. If you want a no frills, high yeild online savings account, with live support customer service, Jenius delivers.

I scheduled a funds transfer and shortly afterwards noticed some unusual activity on my account. I called and was told nothing was out of sorts and the funds were on their way to be delivered by the specified day. The specified day came, and went, and now Jenius bank is asking me to make another request for a transfer. They claim there is nothing they can do and offer no recourse.

It sucks it denies everybody application as though if it's some type of secret society or something I don't know cuz all my credentials were straight there's no reason why I should have been denied I think it is the worst bank ever

Do not borrow anything from this bank, my balance goes up every day by $10 and its impossible to pay off the loan, these are thieves.

Needed a 20k loan for partial payment on truck purchase. Securing loan with home equity was the cheapest rate, did that got approval and the next day when go to close loan the rate is 2.5 % higher !
Oldest trick in the book, BAIT and SWITCH. Didn't bite. Told them to stick it, big waste of time.

One of the worst banking experiences I’ve ever had. I was bounced around between multiple departments, unknowingly and unnecessarily, giving them every single document they requested. I was told one thing, but after they ran my credit, the story suddenly changed. Mistakes happen, but not at the cost of my credit score.

They set an unnecessarily short application window, which they wasted by calling me every other day for “one more” document—despite the fact that I had already provided everything. After dragging their feet, they closed my application because their own deadline expired, leaving me with a credit hit for nothing.

I even confirmed with a rep that I wouldn't close. I asked it to be reopened but they ignored that request. Completely unacceptable. Proceed with caution.

Absolutely insanity! Go through the whole approval process and then they ask for bank statements, 1040 tax forms, w-2 forms and keep telling you they need more proof. Even when all documentation of salary matches what was submitted. They string you along. You can talk to people sure but no one has a real answer. No one will look at what you submitted or tell you what the issue is. Constant run around and horrible company.

Tried to open a new savings account today but before I was finished I got logged off and did not create a username or password. Called in to customer care she was very nice tried to explain what I had to do to go in and just create a password and a username. Went through the same questions name social all that stuff when I got done it said Application Denied. I was simply going to close my existing savings and put my money in their Bank but I was denied. I consider it their loss and their Miss on a large deposit.

Initial set up was a complete farce. J###ing off between the credit union and getting authorization from Jenius was a joke. I now have an account that does not exist, which shows up in every log in because Jenius "cannot delete" that account. Finally got it working. First few transfer deposits went well. Then this weekend tried to transfer a sum from an account at the credit union (as it turns out the credit union does not allow transfers from that account so I will close that). THE PROBLEM is that Jenius Bank (no Geniuses there) decided this was fraud FOUR DAYS LATER and have bricked my accounts. Wait, WHAT? You are protecting me from fraud, but never even alerted me?!!! Now I will not be able to access any funds for at least seven more days due to their total incompetence. I give two stars only for my prior good experiences and the fact that the "customer service" is US based. IF YOU NEED ACCESS TO YOUR FUNDS IN A HURRY, DO NOT USE THIS EBANK.

They put fraud holds on money I was trying to transfer. Ultimately I was able to move some of my money but then they put another fraud hold effectively holding my money hostage with no timeframe for when I could make the transfer. This company seemed great until I actually wanted to move money out.

I make $80,000 a year through W2 and other documented sources like eBay and marketplace. I have submitted ALL the documentation needed for a $40,000 loan at least 3 times now. It keeps getting pushed back to me a day later saying “something’s missing” if you call and try to dispute it, they just keep saying “you need to upload a 1040 or additional paystubs” I have… multiple times. I meet the income requirements. My debt to income ratio is low. This is the worst bank/loan processor I have ever dealt with in my life. Will likely be disputing the hard inquiry with the the credit bureaus unless this gets resolved. Jenius bank is IMPOSSIBLE to work with.

I requested the bank ro please complete the bottom portion of a form required by my corporate management company to continue my residence. The form was formal and only required them to record date acct opened, average 6 mth balance, current balance, account # with a signature, date and title. 19. f=phone calls to representative at the only phone number there is led to daily "TICKETS" created that led nowhere, Juts mire Tickets! NO one called, emailed, texted, mailed the form back. Yjery conformed they had it and the corporation requiring it uploaded it to the as well. I lost near $1,000 for non-compliance and am still left with a near eviction of an old unhealthy man. No one to talk wiht, no way to contact anyone, JUST TICKETS! My heaqlgth has very serious deteriorated causing my doctors to require testing to evaluate my health during this unbelievable and stressful time Jenius Bank couldn't care less. This has been going on for two weeks. TWO WEEKS. Avery simple form to complete and return.

Uploaded all documents they asked for. They told me it wasn’t enough and disallowed 2100/mo in income because it’s not from government source. It’s dividend income. Unless you have a job with a w-2 don’t even bother they will just disallow anything else. Then again these “banks” only lend money if you slave for someone else or depend on the government to live. If you build on your own and count on yourself they aren’t interested.

This bank has a script it follows to delay or resist your request to move your funds out of their bank. I have been trying now for a month and have received 20 different excuses, and they still have my money and have cancelled my account!

I initiated an application for a loan with them. The following day or so I was emailed that my paystubs weren’t sufficient so I provided a copy of my paystubs that I would have received if my job had given it to me in paper form. That was also insufficient. When I called the customer service line they told me that the bank was now asking for a copy of my bank statement. Why even more of my personal information is needed when I’ve already provided everything that was initially asked when applying for the loan. Now I have a hard inquiry on my credit report for a loan I didn’t take out. I cancelled my application. The representative was very kind but it didn’t seem they provided her with enough information on the notes as to why my paystubs weren’t sufficient. I was able to get through to customer service fast. Communication about my application was provided fairly fast. It’s just a shame that I missed out on a loan and they missed out on getting those few thousands in interest from me. I guess that’s how the cookie crumbles though.
