We were picked up at the airport by someone who didn’t even greet or say hello he was grumpy and quite rude. When we arrived at the car rental pick up point there was no guidance or direction from him as to what we needed to do just a grunt to tell us to book in at the self service machine. This guy who picked us up was exceptionally rude and had terrible customer service. He should not be working in the customer service industry or with people who are coming to holiday in Iceland. At least say hello, a smile doesn’t cost anything.

On check out when we came to drop the car back when we walked into the office the lady who was there didn’t great us or say hello. When we said hello she again grunted at us and told us to wait. Again rude unpleasant behaviour.

I can’t think of a worse time where I’ve had a car rental and I’ve been treated so rudely like I was an inconvenience to them. Lotus car rental really need to think about what staff they employee and how those staff engage with people who are coming to Iceland on holiday.

The only positive thing I can say is that after the girl rudely ignored us when we arrived a gentleman came in and was quite polite and asked if our trip had gone well and took our details and checked the car back in which was smooth and efficient.

Cant praise high enough. Shuttle took 5 mins, car collection was straightforward and very quick, email sent with photos of any previous damage, car was spotless and came fully equipped. If you go platinum, you dont need to go to desk. automated machine is just inside entrance. Follow instructions on screen. Dacia duster 4x4 ran like a dream. Return of vehicle was also seamless. Their offices are spotless and their staff very friendly. They will be my go to when I return to Iceland!

We rented a Toyota Yaris Cross 4x4 with the platinum insurance, for about 10 days. Everything went absolutely great! Free unlimited wifi was included and worked well, fast online checkin, got dropped off at the airport in no time,... I cannot recommend them enough.

One of the few car rentals I've come across with zero hidden fees. The prices are better than most other car rentals you'll come across in Iceland. The staff is very friendly and will help you with every question you might have. There is a shuttle to and from the airport for you.

All in all, the absolute best car rental service I've come across in Iceland. And as a native, I can vouch for them. If you aren't an experienced driver, or if you don't know what to expect when driving in Iceland, they will assist you.

Wonderful service by all means, seamless booking, car pickup and return.
The representative met us at the airport with a sign that had the company name, confirmed my name and drove us to the pick up location.
The KIA was so much fun to drive, pretty reliable, enough space for what we needed, decent on gas and didn’t complain at all lol 😂.
The customer care they showed was remarkable, even when our flight got cancelled and we had to stay longer. The representative on the other end of the phone showed genuine concern for our safety trying to get the vehicle back than anything else.
They even drove me to the hotel we booked to wait for the weather to clear.
Thank you so much LOTUS we will definitely use your services again in our future visits to Iceland

Trust worthy, reliable rental company in Iceland. Even though they are located 5-10min away from airport, Lotus provided a pick up and drop of for us from and back to the airport. I would suggest to always go for the premium insurance while renting to have a piece of mind while driving through unknown roads in iceland. I suggest Lotus for there good customer service and affordable rates compared to agencies. Everything from vehicle pickup and drop of went smoothly...

Lotus Car Rental provided an excellent experience from start to finish. Their 4x4 vehicle made me feel safe and confident driving through Iceland’s challenging conditions, and the pickup and rental process was smooth with friendly, professional staff. What I appreciated most was their transparency—no hidden fees or questionable practices—so I could travel with complete peace of mind.

Service was really good. Lotus rep met us within five minutes of arriving at the meeting point. Shuttle ride to the depot and check-in was simple and gave us a code to unlock the key box. Easy to find the car, but front plastic bumper trim was falling off, so the car obviously hadn’t been checked. They said they don’t always check, so that’s a worry. But they were very good and got us another car straightaway. No further problems and when we returned the car, we were taken back to the airport with ten minutes of arriving

FIND ANOTHER PLACE AND RENT A CAR! They rip you off and don't give you what you order. They play nice and friendly but don't take that for granted! Even if you rent a car where it says you are guaranteed this model they say it has been in an accident and give you a worse model. Absolutely no customer service

Getting the keys was easy. Sadly it went downhill from there. You get an area where the car is you’re then left to find it out of the rows there. Bear in mind it’s pitch black, freezing and you have kids and cases. The car is frozen solid. A gps and dongle thing are lying on a seat. No instructions. You can’t see the car properly to check it over either and they’re parked like sardines. We were advised our car would ‘easily’ take 3 cases. It didn’t.

Car had serious bodywork damage and a significant crack in the windscreen which weren’t visible in the dark and the wipers were shot. Dangerous and not what was paid for. Booked a ‘new style’ got an old style one with 95k on it. I’ll stick to Alamo from now on.

Recently we rented two cars from Lotus at Keflavik. We were 10 persons on a long weekend to Iceland including two kids. We were picked up according to the instructions and we quickly got the cars we had specifically rented with associated kid seats. Having the platinum insurance we had no worries about the cars (but we did not have any incidents, either) and the return went smoothly at our departure from Iceland.

Ho però assegnato 5 stelle a Lotus Car Rental per la professionalità con cui hanno gestito una grossa problematica occorsa durante il tour.
A circa metà viaggio a più di 600 km da Reykjavik e 10 ore di guida dalla capitale, l'auto ha avuto un grosso problema e ci ha abbandonato, sono cose che in ambienti estremi come l'Islanda possono anche capitare.
Una volta contattato il numero di assistenza ci hanno mandato in soccorso, in mezzo al nulla, un carroattrezzi, ci hanno prenotato un pernottamento nell'unico albergo di Eglisstadir disponibile, per inciso piuttosto lussuoso, e contemporaneamente hanno inviato un'auto sostitutiva durante la notte.
Alla mattina abbiamo trovato la nuova auto al posto di quella guasta e abbiamo potuto proseguire il nostro tour fino al termine a Reykjavik senza ulteriori intoppi e sovrapprezzi. Le comunicazioni durante l'attesa dei soccorsi sono sempre state costanti e si sono sempre preoccupati di farci avere aggiornamenti sullo stato dei soccorsi e di conoscere le nostre condizioni.
In più, oltre al costo dell'hotel, come una sorta di penale a loro carico ci hanno anche rimborsato il valore di una giornata di noleggio.
Una professionalità e una correttezza che non è facile trovare.

Debated for months which company to use in Iceland but went for Lotus because they guarantee the make and model of the vehicle. Booked a Kia Sorrento for 10 days with the Platinum insurance (GET THE PLATINUM!!) which provided free hotspot wifi (didn't work all the time but very useful) and meant the staff just handed us the key didn't even check the vehicle at collection or drop off.

They collected from the airport and drop back off at no extra charge. It is close to the airport and then easy to drive onwards into Iceland. Also very close to petrol stations to fill the tank up before you return it.

****When you are being collected at the airport make sure you walk through to the doors at the opposite side to where the internal car rental booths are. We hadn't been to the airport before so stood at the wrong doors and had to ring them**

Lotus were on a par with all other providers price wise (look for a discount code) and were very quick to respond and help in the booking process. If we ever manage to save up enough money to return to Iceland I will use Lotus again.

Last week I rented a car in Lotus, and the experience was amazing! The car had a minor accident underfoot during a snowfall. We took it to the Lotus office and it was fixed in 15 minutes.
On the last day, we were running late to the airport. I was afraid of missing my flight, and a Lotus agent named Michael took the car we had rented and drove us to the airport. He explained how to get to the gate quickly, I honestly couldn't believe it. Such great and lovely staff! I highly recommend this company.
