Watch out for phone spoofing!
I was on a cruise and dialed United Airlines to change my seat. I used the United Airlines phone number provided in my United Airlines app; however, my call didn't go through. Within seconds I received an incoming call from Martfares.com offering to assist with the seat change. I did not know this was Martfares and was led to believe that a representative from United Airlines was calling me back. I was charged $290 to move to another seat in economy class as no business class seats were available. 2 days later I discovered that a business class seat was available, and called United to switch. They told me that I was not charged for the seat booked on 4/11 as the record indicated I was handicapped. Long story short, I was charged correctly for my United Airlines business class seat PLUS $290 for the seat arranged by Martfares. No phone number was provided on my credit card statement for me to dispute the charge labeled as "Air Fee & Taxes." I called United and they said they did not charge me $290, so I called the credit card company to determine who did make the charge. I was told Martfares made the charge and they provided me the website, which netted the following message: Dangerous Web Page Blocked
You attempted to access martfares.com.
This is a known dangerous webpage. It is highly recommended that you do NOT visit this page. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, which followed up with Martfares, who insisted the charge was legitimate, leaving me to pay approximately double for my seat.
