Total scam
Total scam. They cancelled the event I had booked to attend with less than 24 hours notice and didn't offer a refund. I requested a refund as is my consumer right and they said they would put in a request with Eventbrite. 3 months later still nothing but pointless emails back and forth with them, with pointless excuses, and now they are emailing me to advertising other events upcoming. As someone who runs events myself via Eventbrite I am familiar with the refund process which is extremely straight forward. This organisation is a total money scam

We’re sorry your Dublin event needed to be rescheduled. Under our Cheeky Guarantee, daters are always welcome to inquire about a refund when we reschedule, and we’ll ensure it gets taken care of. Some daters prefer to move to another date, and we extend that same flexibility through our Cheeky Promise. If a dater needs to reschedule with us, whether it’s five days or even five minutes beforehand, we’re happy to accommodate them. Great event but not the music volume
Overall, I really enjoyed the event and thought it was a great experience! I have two small suggestions that might make it even better.
The music was quite loud, which made having proper conversations difficult, especially for those of us who speak English as a second language. There seemed to be quite a few of us, and the background noise made communication even more challenging. And as I’m in the “senior” age group now, my throat definitely wasn’t a fan of talking over the music! 😂
It would also be really helpful to include some parking suggestions in the confirmation / reminder email. The venue was great, but being close to SkyCity, parking was quite tricky for someone unfamiliar with the area.
Other than that, I had a lovely evening and really appreciated the effort that went into organising the event. Thank you!

I have been to a couple events with Cheeky Date in Orange County and they are always held in interesting, quiet venues. The participants vary but all are engaged and pleasant.
The age ranges appear to be more guidelines but I think it adds to the experience!

Higher than the usual hit rate
I have a higher hit rate in terms of going on a date with this service as opposed to the others I have tried in New York City. There are awkward experiences sometimes, but that is the nature of the game IMO. I look forward to going when I do sign up. I like their choice of venues.

Not for me, probably not for you either
edit 8/25: this review may get removed since they've now pestered Trustpilot into verifying my identity and I'm not in the habit of handing out my info to anyone who asks. I had ongoing correspondence with someone from the company and I will say they reached out and refunded my event fee which was 90% of my complaint, saying it was a misunderstanding. Fine. My issue with with how they organize events still stands. Like I said, not for me. Will give them one star back for the refund.

There are specifically two things about how this company does business that irk me:
1. They go ahead and hold events without there being enough people signed up (typically not enough women) for there to be a comfortable buffer after no-shows and cancellations.
The event I attended had over 3X as many men as women - that's a lot of "last-minute reschedulings". I suspect the host has had a lot of practice acting shocked like this never happens when you darn well know it does. People went to the trouble of dressing up and coming out and you wasted their time. Some turned and walked out before the event even started.
2. If someone asks for a refund you should give it to them, no questions asked.
Look, I get that you don't have control over who shows up at an event and disappointments happen. But right now, once you pay for a ticket your money's as good as gone - they will hold your credit hostage until you either burn it on an event (not necessarily one you want to attend) or get frustrated and give up. No matter how many event cancellations occur (in my case I had three in a row cancelled) they won't budge. The website FAQ cheerfully mentions that you can request a refund at any time but the actual payment processor is EventBrite who will just as cheerfully tell you to go pound rocks. I even filed a chargeback with my credit card and they came back after three months saying there was nothing they could do. If you pay close attention to the ToS at checkout it stipulates that NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN so their FAQ is just lip service. It's funny seeing the company reply to negative reviews here saying they'll do ~anything~ to work with dissatisfied customers to make things right. Everything except give your money back so think about that before you buy a ticket. I don't want your event comps, why would I bother when I see no one shows up to them?

We're unable to identify a dater by this name in our records and have asked Trustpilot to verify the review. We've also noticed this is very similar to other recent reviews where identifying information has not been provided, so we don't want to make assumptions without verification.
Daters do sometimes reschedule or simply don't show, occasionally at the last minute. We understand how frustrating that can be.
To clarify the refund concern, Eventbrite listings state "no refunds," which applies to attended events and is intended to make clear that attending a dating event cannot guarantee a particular match or romantic outcome. Nowhere is that intended to mean that a dater cannot receive a refund when we reschedule an event. If we reschedule and a dater doesn't wish to move to another date, we will always happily step in and ensure the refund is taken care of. It's what we do.
If a dater attends an event affected by reschedules or no-shows, we also regularly invite them back with our compliments and let them know about upcoming events we think they'll enjoy.
We've been hosting dating events for nearly 20 years and always want our daters to have a great experience. If you're able to verify your booking with Trustpilot, we're happy to assist.

Event cancelations, bad experience overall
Don't waste your time and money on their speed dating events. First off, they post a ton of them on eventbrite and then cancel last minute if they don't have enough attendees - citing "some attendees have scheduling conflicts". That happened to me 3 times in a row and at that point I thought that was scam and requested a refund. They got me in an endless AI-loop of lengthy emails saying that they don't have the money and sending to eventbrite. Obviously, they don't want to initiate the refund to trigger eventbrite and they even went as far as lying that "eventbrite declined my request" - but I never submitted it because I knew that they would decline it based on the refund policy. Finally, they had a new event that did happen but it was so poorly organized, uneven number of people - some people would come and leave. And every person I talked to told me the same story with multiple event cancelations. So yeah, on eventbrite it looks like they organized hundreds of events, but how many of them actually happened.... Additionally, they will start bombarding you with emails offering to attend new events (without unsubscribe link) and I finally found a way to send a request to delete my data. But considering their practices, I'm very unsure that my information will be fully deleted.
Edit: I'll address organizer's response. At the time of the event, their eventbrite round policy was no refunds and I have a number of emails from them saying that they couldn't issue a refund after 3 canceled events and sending me to eventbrite, whereas eventbrite clearly recommends reaching out to the organizer. Their emails that intend to be "personal offers", have only name Sara and two letter abbreviation (/rl or /as) at the end - no unsubscribe link. I did say that the event finally happened but before that it felt like scam after repeated cancelation and refusals to issue a refund - not sure why they're confused here. Lastly, no I declined your request to share additional data, I don't want to deal with you anymore based on everything described above.

We’re sorry to read this, though we have been unable to identify a guest under the name provided with this review, and Trustpilot has so far been unable to verify the experience.
A few points are important to clarify. Under our Cheeky Guarantee, if we reschedule an event and a guest requests a refund, they receive one. It really is that simple. Guests also have complete flexibility to reschedule themselves, whether giving us five days’ notice or five minutes, which can unfortunately lead to last-minute changes in attendance.
We’re also recognized as an Eventbrite Top Organizer, a designation based on the volume of positive reviews our events receive through Eventbrite. We’re therefore a little confused by the suggestion that our listed events may not actually take place when the review itself describes attending one of them.
Our promotional emails and newsletters are distributed through Squarespace and include an unsubscribe option at the bottom of each promotional email. If the emails referenced were instead personal invitations from our team, these are part of our effort to see guests who may have experienced a reschedule to a future event, with our compliments. We’re sorry this effort to accommodate you was upsetting.
We would genuinely welcome the opportunity to identify this guest and review what occurred, but without a verifiable account or booking, we simply cannot reconcile several of these claims with our records or policies.

The event I paid for was canceled at the last minute. The replacement event was also canceled at the last minute. I was told on more than one occassion that I'd get a refund. I still haven't received it.
And to the person who responded and is trying the deny my experience with your company, I have all the screenshots saved. Including my experience with the bank. I asked for a refund directly, but your representative lied and said the event took place, but I have the e-mail saying it was canceled! I am happy to send all of the evidence to coorporate.

And to anyone else reading this review, you'll see lots of 1-star reviews here and on Reddit about MyCheekyDate's repeadted last minute cancellations and problems getting a refund.
Edit: This review was removed for a few days because MyCheekyDate claimed it wasn't based on a geniuine experience. I e-mailed my receipts and screenshots of my interaction with customer service. The receipt clearly has the company's name on it, now MyCheekyDates is trying to get my review taken down again; this time they're trying to claim that it's another company is to blame and I left the review for the wrong company!

Frustrating experience.
I booked an event on Mar 18. 2026 for a Mar 21, 2026 in Vancouver. The event was cancelled one day before, and I was told that events would be rescheduled, and nothing happened for next several weeks. It took some emails over a couple of months to get my money refunded. At first I was directed to eventbrite to get my refund, eventbrite denied my request. After that i reached out to the company again and they helped get my refund on Jun 22/26. Overall, they should manage their events better, and if they cancel events, they should be doing the work to make sure people get their refunds vs people running after eventbrite or whatever to get their refunds.
