I have loss of hearing completely in one ear and slight in second ear they say it’s not common for adult to get glue ear I have no pain at all I was advised to try nose balloon otovent I bin using 3 times a day for 3 days I can hear a little in fully blocked ear and can smell I use it on one nostril when my ear pops I go to second nostril In between I close mouth and do 3 swallows I found this is great only on 3rd day my bad ear can slightly hear I put ear phones on to see if it’s working and it is I got mine of eBay £12 there is no difference in adult or child so don’t go on Amazon as they are £15 plus hope this helps I’m very happy with it not bin able to hear in left ear for a good 2 years lost smell many years ago great item to have

For Adult Glue Ear.
The Otovent device as recommended by my doctor seemed a good idea, however each balloon didn't last more the 5 minutes of use before they developed a hole. I was mindful that maximum inflation should not exceed the size of a medium grapefruit. The cost of spare balloons is outrageous considering that are not fit for their designed purpose.
