I picked up a great C.D Player for a fantastic price

We visited the Kingston Park showroom today, and were very, very disappointed.
We had driven over 60 miles in the hope of looking at options for a new separates hifi system, with a spend of around £6000. We thought that this wasn't an insignificant amount of cash, but clearly it was insufficient to generate any interest from staff at this branch of Tysons.
The manager was polite and pleasant, but clearly sees this branch as showcasing very,very hi end options of speakers and kit.(think footballer spends -££££!) With virtually no mainstream hi fi options on show here, "that's for Carlisle" the manager here advised.
We did explain that we currently had Bang &Olufsen ( no response), and that we were considering the Naim Unity Star, as we had other Naim products. He had one on display, but it was on a shelf, around 3metres off the ground, and although we stood in front of it, discussing it, there was no offer to get it down, or to demo it. Perhaps there wasn't enough value in this sale? Anyway, he told us he was not a fan of the Star, as "CD quality is no where near streaming quality". Despite my wife saying she had many CD's she still likes to play, he was really quite dismissive.
We left after 10 minutes, cross and pretty disappointed with Peter Tyson.
A 10 minute drive into Newcastle and a visit to another HiFi specialist, and our experience couldn't have been more different- engaging, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble, and all without any expectation of a sale. Even the offer to get a Naim in from another branch within a week so we could listen to it, without any commitment! PeterTyson, look and learn.
Based on our 2 experiences of Tysons at Kingston Park, we really can't see how it survives ( unless the mark up on hi end speakers and kit is so huge, one sale can cover all their costs) and we certainly won't waste another 120 mile, 160 minute round trip journey.
If you want to view, listen to, and discuss quality main stream hifi equipment, then don't waste your time travelling to this branch- pop into Newcastle itself.
P.S. Just to add, we were the only customers in the store throughout this time, so it wasn't as if they were so busy they were stretched.

Well what can I say !!

First time using Peter Tyson (PT). Staff excellent and patient as I had some questions which were answered professionally, unlike a competitor of yours which I have used for many years. Ordered the suggested kit - transaction very smooth Inc delivery. Unfortunately, the WiiM product had a fault and after speaking to PT they offered to swap it out without hesitation - very professional and the swap was painless. PT are a credit to good old fashioned customer service. When I need any Hifi/TV you will be my 1st choice :)

I have bought a few items from Peter Tyson and they have been excellent. Quick delivery if items are in stock. Good demo rooms and have an excellent selection of speakers from low end to the very high end. They do excellent interest free credit via PayPal also. Peter Tyson is now my only high end hifi shop in the north east and will definitely use again in the near future.

Having researched this particular model (FIIO M21 DAP) I decided to finally upgrade my "Classic Gen 5 ipod" and go for the entry level DAP player. I am by no means an audiophile but do like to "feel" whichever genre of music Im tuning in to. Let me tell you, I defy anyone to listen to any MT Jones (All I Do etc) and not experience the collective warmth of this amazing machine. Quality of build, feel, capabilities and of course the tremendous sound. I purchased this Item online front the Peter Tyson website. I also visited the Peter Tyson store at Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. I sought advice on this particular device as well as ease of use regarding file transfer etc. I found the fella very helpful and informative and left the store in the knowledge I was definitely ordering as soon as I got home. I was actually at work. All in all a great experience, and a new world awaits whenever I slide in to my P7s and press the play button. Thank you!

I have been using my Audiolab 7000N for about a week now. Having contemplated for some time adding a network player to my existing system – Audiolab 8300 CD player and integrated amp, with DALI Zensor floor-standing speakers – I am predisposed to that company since I have had a near decade-long positive experience of their products. The 7000N seems to me to maintain the quality and, after a steepish learning curve regarding usage, I am a happy customer and would heartily recommend both the product and the service provided by Peter Tyson and company.

Just thinking about how good they sound and knowing how great they look. I want a pair of them. If you send me a pair I will give an honest review. I can compare them against wharfdale. Jammo. Q-Box speakers of the same size and approximately the same output.

Had an issue, instantly resolved.

The staff at the Newcastle shop were very helpful when I enquired about upgrading my hifi from a Uniti Atom and NAP 100 power amp. They set up a couple of alternatives, Nova and Linn Majik, to compare for a listening session. I eventually went for a Nait XS3 and ND5 XS2 combination. Sounds great. I got a fair trade-in price for my gear, there was no pressure during the process and I was more than happy with the outcome.

Bought few Hi-Fi systems from Peter Tyson, they delivered as promised. Excellent customer service too. Would definitely recommend to buy the items from them.
