as soon as you get here you’ll check in and pay €110 euros for room tax and security deposit then get changed and sit round the pool, as per the reps instructions. sooner or later you will have a chat with one of the reps or sean and be strongarmed into spending €150 on top of what you’ve already paid for the wristband which is stated as included in the emails, but alas, is not. if you or your roommates have selected people to be in a room with and don’t get it you will be expected to pack up all your things by yourself and move across for the sake of someone else with no choice. air con, tv remote etc are extra and your charged WEEKLY for these things. they pressure you into paying for things on top of the almost 700 you’ve already paid. they have all these hidden fees ‘on their website’ but they don’t allow you a chance to view their website as as soon as you mention your interested your phone will be blown up from the business ‘leader’ and he will overcompensate the experience for the sake of money on the phone and literally force you to pay the deposit over the phone and once you’ve done that you’ve literally signed your life away, if something were to come up and you couldn’t go you can’t get a refund AT ALL, the helpline number isn’t a helpline number it’s a mobile number so there’s no one higher up to speak too. the reps - the male rep; he’s nice, but he’s doing his job, don’t believe a word any of them say. female: she’s rude, will sleep with people in the group and then if you do later on (not my experience my friends) she will isolate and ghost you for days until she’s had her tantrum (almost 23 mind you). she’s just genuinely not a very nice person, and they ALL speak to you like your less than, like your stupid and below them. the wifi is HORRENDOUS i swear to god. please for the sake of your mental health do not come away with this company. it’s a scam; and a massive orgy as everyone sleeps with each other. absolutely ridiculous. two days before leaving (wednesday) My roommates from my second room had left on the friday and the reps found this out but i told them i wasn’t moving then, which they said was fine so i thought that was the end of the conversation, I was then called by the male rep on the monday on the pretence of my wellbeing, he was asking me if i was okay cause no one had heard from or seen me for two days - i had been by the pool both days but sure, then as soon as i responded he hit me with ‘your going to have to move rooms today darling’ so i said i didn’t want too, that there was no point since i was leaving in under 48 hours and that i wasn’t willing to pack everything to move rooms and then pack again to leave less than two days later which started a whole awkward conversation about how i should basically move because i pack now and then im basically already packed to leave - no. I pointed out if already moved once and didn’t want to do it again to which the female rudely responded that that was fine cause she’d had one girl who had moved five times - good for her but im not the one, then I spoke to reception and said i was leaving soon anyway and shouldn’t have to move which prompted the female rep to pipe up with her bullying tactics and try to manipulate me by saying that the only people they could put in my room was a group of boys, which i had already previously said having people put with me again was absolutely fine but i was not moving, and she seemed to accept that in a flippant dismissive attitude. they then messaged me and said that if i didnt move the hotel would keep my deposit.

Extremely Disappointing Experience

Where do I even begin?

I genuinely cannot recommend Playaway Abroad based on my experience. I was sold the idea of “the summer of a lifetime”, but unfortunately it turned out to be one of the most stressful experiences I’ve had. I feel the company targets young people with exciting promises that simply weren’t reflected in reality.

The accommodation was one of the biggest issues. We were placed in one of the larger pool house rooms and were led to believe everyone would have our own bed. Instead, there were three double beds with two people sharing each bed. They even attempted to squeeze more people into the room before backing down after several of us complained. After I’d already been living there for over three weeks, I was then asked to move rooms to accommodate others, which I felt was completely unfair.

Cleanliness and maintenance were also very poor. The beds appeared to have bed bugs, the blankets constantly made me itch, and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. After moving into another room, we were given a bunk bed that was so unstable it eventually collapsed. The accommodation was so bad that another person and I decided to move out. On top of that, there was no air conditioning, we were often left without toilet roll, and the shower never got warm.

Another huge issue was the hidden costs. A lot of people arrived believing they had budgeted enough, only to be hit with additional fees that were not made clear beforehand. We were required to pay a £50 rep fee, which was non-negotiable, a £50 hotel deposit per person, where everyone in the room risked losing their deposit if one person caused an issue, and £150 for wristbands that we were told would provide discounts. In my experience, those wristbands didn’t provide the benefits we were led to expect, as many places didn’t seem to recognise them. These unexpected charges left many people struggling financially.

One thing that particularly disappointed me was how the company presented itself before the trip. We were repeatedly told that drugs would not be tolerated. However, in my experience, drug use appeared to be common within the accommodation, and I felt it wasn’t dealt with appropriately. There were nights where people stayed awake until the early hours, drinking and, from what I witnessed, using drugs, making it impossible to sleep. On one occasion, I even ended up sleeping by the pool because I couldn’t get any rest in my room. When I raised my concerns, I felt they were dismissed rather than taken seriously.

I was also extremely concerned by what I personally witnessed from some of the male reps towards young female guests. I observed behaviour that I believed was sexually inappropriate, including towards girls who I understood to be under the age of 18. This was completely unacceptable and made me question the company’s safeguarding standards.

I was also very concerned by other behaviour I witnessed from members of staff during my stay, including what I felt was unprofessional conduct and poor conflict management. There was an incident involving another guest that I found extremely upsetting to witness, and it significantly affected my confidence in the company’s ability to keep people safe.

The activities also failed to meet expectations. It felt like almost every event was crammed into one week rather than being spread across the summer. We were told there would be a water sports day, but all we ended up doing was a banana boat ride, which was a huge disappointment and nowhere near what many of us expected.

Another major disappointment was the lack of support. Despite paying for the package, I felt there was very little assistance with finding work or dealing with problems once we arrived. It often felt like we were left to sort everything out ourselves.

Overall, while I did meet some great people and there were moments I enjoyed, those positives came despite the company, not because of it. Looking back, I would have much rather spent the extra money organising my own accommodation and employment independently.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Playaway Abroad to anyone considering working abroad. If you’re looking to spend a summer overseas, I’d strongly recommend arranging your own accommodation and employment rather than relying on this company. It would likely be a safer, more comfortable, and far less stressful experience.

I somehow managed to survive the month !! From the hotel taking money from you every chance they get to the REPS offering out small teenage girls and or sleeping with them, go to literally any other workers abroad company, accommodation is dirty, has bedbugs extremely outdated and doesn’t have wifi or signal in any of the rooms. The management of this company are appalling one rep with turkey teeth and a passion for making girls uncomfortable with disgustingly sexual behaviour, has a raging attitude problem during my month there him and another rep JUMPED a guy who had paid to be with playaway, He has had full blown screaming matches with 10+ girls offering them out and saying “what one of you slags wants it then”or just been a downright creep. I’d avoid and spend the extra few 100 on an actual company rather than a makeshift one that seems to be some sort of ploy for a bunch of 30+ predators to have unlimited access to 16-22yr old girls for a month, also they will NOT find you a job YOU will have to find your own

My experience with Play Away Abroad was extremely bad.

Before travelling, I paid around £700 for the accommodation package, excluding flights. When I arrived, there were additional charges that I did not feel had been clearly communicated beforehand, including accommodation-related deposits and a mandatory £50 rep fee.

One of my biggest concerns was the lack of proffesionalism and lack of support provided by the reps. We were told they would be there to improve the experience and provide guidance, but I personally felt unsupported when issues arose and did not receive the level of assistance that was promised.

I was also unhappy with how my concerns were handled. When I raised issues regarding refunds and deposits, I felt my concerns were dismissed. In a conversation about a refund after a mishap with the accomodation one of the reps and buisness manager named Sean used offensive, abusive and unprofessional language towards me, which I found completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, I did not receive back the damage deposit and other deposits that I was entitled to receive.

This left me feeling frustrated and significantly out of pocket.
Overall, I felt the costs, fees, and expectations were not communicated clearly enough, and the level of customer service fell far below what I expected. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Play Away Abroad and would encourage anyone considering booking with them to carefully review all fees, deposit terms, and refund policies before committing.

Playaway Abroad kept everything stress free from the moment I booked. The accommodation was great and the reps were there to help with advice and getting work. Within the first week I got a job as waitress for Ikon nightclub and met some amazing friends. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Went out to Zante this summer with a few of the uni lads and such a class time! PlayaWay sorted us out with great accommodation and arranged so me and the boys could all share together. We met loads of new mates out there and the Zante nightlife was unreal. If you are wanting to do a season abroad, PlayaWay is the way to go!

This is my second season which playaway abroad and I can only say good things about this company.

I was nervous travelling and doing a season alone, but I can honestly say it was the best decision i’ve made. The reps settled me in straight alway and helped me make friends with everyone straight away. It felt like a big family! The accommodation was clean, had a pool and bar, so it was very social which was great to meet other people. The nights out we’ve had together were unreal! Highly recommend PlayaWay for anyone doing a season!

This was my 2nd season in Zante with PlayaWay, and I can honestly say it was better than the first! I think I got more out of my 2nd season because I knew my way round already, but through PlayaWay I’ve met so many incredible people. Last year I mainly partied, but this year I took work more seriously and I have managed to save some good money! Can’t wait for season 3 already!

I went with PlayaWay this summer to Zante and had the best time ever. The reps organised so that me and the girls could all work together. The events they organised were such good fun too! If you are wanting to have fun this summer, go with PlayaWay ❤️🫶🏻

Unreal experience! If you’re unsure about doing a season abroad then definitely go through PlayaWay! The reps helped us all settle in and make friends really quickly. We loved it that much and all become such good friends, we have all came back out for a holiday at the end of the season to see each other again! Can’t wait for next year!

Did my first season this summer in Zante with PlayaWay, and can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made! As it was my first time, I was abit apprehensive travelling solo as a girl, but as soon as I landed I was put at ease by Abby the rep. She made me feel comfortable and got me chatting to the other girls straight away. I ended up working as a PR at one of the bars with a girl I made friends with at the accommodation and we’ve both had such a great summer! Thank you PlayaWay for an unforgettable experience!

The accommodation had WiFi, air con, swimming pool and cooking facilities so couldn’t have asked for any better. Our rep Abby was amazing - she helped organise our party week for when we first got there and then got me a job working for one of the events companies! I’ve made friends for life and I can’t wait to come back next summer to do it all again!!

Brought these notes to the rep, who reacted aggressively and told me if I wanted Ritz Carlton luxury I should pay for it. If I wanted to be in Dubai I should go there and enjoy that luxury. Said he would drive me around the island showing me worse places and I was lucky this location is so nice. Was told he would get us draino for shower which was never followed through with. No suggestions for next steps on any of the above points.

Zante is the place to be! Me and my friends came over this summer and we all had an unbelievable experience! Playaway made it so smooth, they organised our accommodation so we could all share together. The accommodation was clean, great location and has everything you need! Big shout out to Abby our rep who was always full of energy and ready to party! She helped sort us all out with jobs and now we’ve extending our stay for an extra month! Thank you PlayaWay for the summer of a lifetime!

I came out with PlayaWay for beginning of June for 2025. The accommodation was really nice and clean, it was much more than i was expecting! Everyone hangs around the hotel pool and we’ve all become one big family. I couldn’t have asked for better reps than Sean, Abby and Stefan who were so helpful throughout my entire experience! I’m so glad that I came out and would recommend PlayaWay to anyone!

First time I’ve ever travelled solo or doing anything like this so I was very nervous to begin with. I chose to come out with PlayaWay and can genuinely say I’ve never had better time! The reps Abby and Stefan made me feel welcome and comfortable straight away! We spent our first week doing boat parties, water sports days, pool parties, bar crawls and I’ve never had so much fun!
