After 4 months of the bike not being registered, issues with gears & headlights we now find out Portman are closed! Last contact was on 12/03/26 where I was assured they were doing everything to regain my son’s trust in them. Absolutely shocking - no answer to phone calls and no explanation anywhere about what’s going on. Brand new £2.5k bike behind their shutters - appalling behaviour & service.

contacted them regarding a trade in against another bike was told would probably be this date since over festive period said that fine, that came and went contacted them said no one been intouch was told they were off sick does no one pick there work up then must be a one man band then) was told get back to me beginning of week we are now at Friday guess what no one has got back no wonder the reviews are so bad who would deal with this company lies lies lies.

Bike needed a new dash. Waited 5 months to get the part, but according to the distributor Portman had the part since February 20th. Portman had the part for a month and a half before the repair was done and then only because I chased them.

When I picked up my bike one of the side panels was loose, the rubber gromit was missing.
When I raised this the owner went and got the mechanic who was aggressive and insisted he hadn't had the panel off, "that wasn't me, pal, I never had that off".

The standard of work at Portman is awful, when I originally picked the bike up the battery was leaking and the accelerator and clutch had not been set up correctly, which made the bike difficult to ride.

I would not trust them to work on my bike, nor would I advise buying from them, their after sales service is terrible.

Just purchased a Royal Alloy GT125 a small exhaust trim screw vibrated itself out while I was riding
I contacted Portman and Brian was very helpful in getting me a replacement, so, so far so good I have no negative things to say about this company

Sent bike in for service.

Came back with cobwebs still on it. Break still broken and not touched at all.

Paid for the pleasure

Also was well passed the 'first service' deadline and no liquids were checked or replaced.

Company is an absolute joke and I hope they get shut down for being a total scam company.

Same thing has happened to several people I know and owner has sent threatening voice messages to customers.

Alot of bad reviews about this place however I got my Sinnis Apache 125 promptly and well built no faults at all other than my own being a first time bike owner to which portmans were happy to help with dont under stand the hate fair enough prices are high ISH but they gotta make a living somehow the price you pay and the services you get are fair in my eyes
