Ive had items develop cracks without being dropped. Other items have " crazing" minature cracks in the pattern without being broken. Items per piece are over priced at sometimes $90 per piece. When the value is 20 or less. As outsourcing to China, $ 90 per individual item, is unworthy of the brand. Im not paying top dollar for quality items, but cheap imports, that might cost a few dollars to make. Ive owned items for many years, not pre-set guidelines, set in this review. I have more than 10 years experience owning these items.

On two occasions I've heard the crack when eating off the plate. I've contacted Port Meirion who have replaced two of the plates and have told me it's because only one side is glazed and moisture can get into underside which causes the cracking when exposed to heat. Am I meant to just eat salads. ????

We have had 4 seperate orders this week. 3 were delivered in 48 hours and 1 in 24 hours.
Products were as expected, my previous review I was disappointed with free gift but portmerion took my point on board.

I purchased 5 mugs and 5 tea plates from the Portmeirion Atrium Floral range on 8/11/25.
I have been using them regularly when friends and family visit.
It was commented on several occasions how quickly the tea or coffee cooled. I always put mine in microwave for 30 secs as I like mine hot but this did not seem to help.
I was perplexed being 79 and had lots of mugs for tea/coffee and never noticed this before. The mugs are also cylindrical shape which I thought may keep the drink hot.
I sent this information to Portmeirion this is their reply
"The purpose of the mug would be to hold liquid, rather than keeping it warm. The shape, wall thickness and body property will always affect how quickly an item will cool".
I was left a bit stunned at the reply and I am certain that I do not need to explain why.I
I expect mugs purchased for tea, coffee, hot chocolate to keep it hot for a reasonable amount of time.
Very poor customer service, would never use again.

I purchased dinner plates, side plates and cereal bowls from the Botanic Garden Harmony range and I can confirm that I’m very happy with everything! After using them daily for a few weeks I can tell that the great quality and durability of the products will stand the test of time. Few of the pieces had small defects on them, but once I contacted the company they apologised and replaced them free of charge. Great customer service.

It would have been much better to get a reply giving an estimate for refund processing; even if that was generic and was say 7-10 days.

Order placed on 19th December. Despite assurances from Portmeirion it's still in another county where it has been since Christmas eve.

Awful customer service - placed and paid for an order and to date have still not received any acknowledgment of order despite chasing customer services on several occasions. I’m now out of pocket and not hopeful that my order will be fulfilled - do not use this company !

This was a brilliant transaction from beginning to end. My products were ordered on 18 December 2025 and delivered 22 December 2025. Remarkable, as the Christmas orders/deliveries can be erratic? The products were packed in a very secure way - lots of protective paper to ensure no breakages. This is essential with delicate pottery!
The delivery was by DPD and was handled extremely efficiently! The courier delivered it carefully to my side door, as requested. I am absolutely delighted with the products, which will enhance my festive table! Thank you to all concerned - especially as this is a British company! 😀

PORTMEIRION CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF ARE EXTREMELY RUDE & OBVIOUSLY LIKE UPSETTING PEOPLE ON A REGULAR CONSTANT BASIS. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT 1 STAR BAD REVIEWS AS THERE IS AN EVER GROWING LONG LIST OF THEM FOR YOU TO READ
I Placed and PAID for an online order with Portmeirion Online UK, then I got an email from Carolyn Shitgler demanding I pay double for the postage costs, as apparently their website is extremely antiquated & hasnt been upgraded to charge the correct postage amount, so I wrote back saying that I had already paid the postage of 28.95 Pounds that was automatically calculated at checkout, which buy the way, was adequate to send the 2 items I purchased, as there are other UK websites selling the same items for around 14 pounds postage for 1 item. If YOUR website hasnt been upgraded to accommodate this problem, then it isnt my error and they should honour the sale regardless, BUT OH NO Carolyn then sent me numerous very rude intimidating obnoxious emails demanding I pay DOUBLE the extra huge postage cost regardless of what was calculated at checkout, she then justified her position by threatening to cancel my order if I didnt pay another 28.95 pounds ontop for the postage. I refused to pay as this error was not my fault, so Carolyn cancelled my order. I should not have been given a standover bullying ultimatum and forced to pay anything extra, by an extremely rude, facetious vile woman who defends a greedy company who have refused to spend money to implement upgrades on their website to correct this issue. Portmeirion should be ashamed to employ people like Carolyn who have no people skills, treat their customers like dirt & think they can speak to people however they want with no consequences, I really do not know who the hell this woman with an ugly witch wart chin thinks she is. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM PORTMEIRION EVER AGAIN. YOU HAVE PROVEN TO ME THAT YOU DO NOT DESERVE MY BUSINESS SO YOU CAN SHOVE YOUR CRAPPY QUALITY ITEMS & DISGUSTING BAD SERVICE, UP YOUR BUM

Ordered direct from Portmeirion to add some plates to the bowls and other stuff we already have. Order arrived pretty quickly but unfortunately one set of x4 were all badly broken on unpacking. Wasn't a problem as Portmeirion were excellent and dispatched a replacement box pretty much immediately. Great customer service and would not hesitate ordering directly from them again.

Broken product awful customer service
My items were badly packed and arrived obliterated I followed the instructions of photographing and reporting the damage by email. I did not receive a response to my email so then I tried to contact them via their chats on their website only to be told there is nobody available on chats and to contact them during opening hours bearing in mind that I am contacting them during the opening hours given.
 All adds up to a very poor purchasing experience and a poor attitude to their customers satisfaction

I’ve been a loyal Portmeirion customer for more than 35 years. Over that time I’ve purchased and gifted dozens of pieces, especially from the Botanic Garden range, which I’ve always appreciated for their beauty, durability, and quality.
Recently, a few plates and coffee cups that were given to me developed hairline cracks after normal microwave use. The backstamps clearly say “Microwave/Dishwasher/Freezer Safe,” and I’ve always followed the care instructions, including avoiding certain detergents and handling everything carefully.
When I reached out to customer service, I was told the items were “too old” to be covered. I understand that return windows have limits, but that response doesn’t seem consistent with the reputation of a brand like Portmeirion! Especially given my long history as a customer, and the fact that I’ve followed all the recommended care guidelines.
This seems more like a product fault than misuse, and I’m asking for a one-time goodwill replacement or store credit to resolve this fairly. I’ve already provided photos of the damage and backstamps, along with a timeline, and I’m happy to do so again. While I don’t have order numbers because these were gifts, I don’t believe that should disqualify a legitimate claim!
I’m reaching out in good faith and truly hope Portmeirion will respond the same way. I want to keep supporting and recommending your brand, but this experience has made that difficult. Thank you to anyone at the company who can help with this! I look forward to your response.
Really pleased with this company supplied the goods in a very timely manner couple of issues and had to return items which were replaced very quickly. I would highly recommend them.

The main Conran restaurant has upped its game enormously since I was there last and its now a go to destination with finally a restaurant with food quality and sophisticated choices to match ..

I ordered several boxes of the botanical glassware and a Sophie Conran gravy boat. Having never ordered from Portmerion before and seeing mixed reviews, I was a little concerned. I didn’t receive an email confirmation so called and the phone was answered quickly by a lady who found my order and sent me a link so I could track delivery. She dealt with things quickly and efficiently and everything arrived, extremely well packaged and in perfect condition within 3 days. Excellent service and the glasses are beautiful, delicately designed and elegant. Thank you for a great service.

We bought two dozen full play Settings. That was six or seven years ago. Everything literally everything is cracking and falling apart. We have never had even the cheapest China fall apart like this. Absolute junk

Easy to order; delivery was amazing, quick, efficient with excellent communication.
Pottery arrived beautifully packaged with a wonderful free gift and I have to say I was delighted to see “Made in England “ on every item. The pottery/ plates/ cups themselves are absolutely beautiful and of an extremely high standard. I cannot rate this company highly enough. Outstanding thank you.
