There needs to be a state evaluation of the instructor that has the power of failing participants. There needs also to be a video for appeal if he makes a mistake. A mistake was made in my case, after completing 4 of 5 tests, I was disqualified for “running over a line” at the end of the last test, which I don’t believe I did, and there goes my $250+, my entire weekend, and a hotel bill since I don’t live close to where the school was. I honestly believe the instructor just finds it easier to fail students, which he failed half the class. Well, except for a couple that sat upfront and laughed at all his jokes. When instructing students, he has a course drawn on his iPad, which he will flash once and points to a cluster of orange cones and thinks that’s proper instruction. To go to a different instructor you’ll have to drive another hour away and there’s no guarantee that instructor will be any better. I recommend you take a helmet camera if you want to have any chance of appeal. The state of Washington should seriously evaluate their examiners and also make it easier to be evaluated at its DOL offices. As it stands now it’s unacceptable.
