This was my first Rat Race multi day event abroad (I've taken part some of their other events in the UK) and I wasn't disappointed. From the moment we all met in El Calafate, James, Jim, Danni and Brydie, along with a great group of local guides, made this a trip to remember. The organisation of each days stage was excellent. The tea, did everything they could to make sure every participant got the most out of the stage. For me, the final stage on closed road to the Perito Moreno glacier was the highlight of an amazing six days! Patagonia was a bucket list destination and I've now got to experience it in the best way!

Santorini Circuit was epic. I’ve done a fair few Rat Race events in the UK and on one of these a few of us decided to sign up for this one. And i am so glad we did. Amazing location, amazing weather and more importantly amazing people. Both participants and crew! Until Santorini i had never been in a kayak, i’m terrified of water especially the open sea. But the crew were amazing and i bloody did it! My navigational skills are terrible (get lost with sat nav!) but again i did it! Only got a teeny wee bit lost in a village - some wee greek woman is probably still trying to figure out what i was doing. Our group was lucky enough to be the only group since the pilot that have managed to do the whole circuit as it was intended as the weather gods were so kind. I’ve met friends for life doing Rat Race events and the same applies to this one. So much so we’re now planning the next one - so Abbi we may very well see you in Croatia!

My dad and I had a brilliant time in the Outer Hebrides with the Rat Race team and all the incredible runners! The team was absolutely amazing! Supportive and encouraging, always positive and there to help with absolutely anything. Robyn the medic was incredible, knowledgeable, supportive and just a ray of sunshine. Jacqs and Jools looked after us all with everything; they put in so much work into making everything run smoothly. And James, the event leader, who worked so so hard, as there was a ferry cancellation due to the weather, but James worked around the clock to make sure we got where we needed to be, and also being so accommodating to me and my injuries which I got on day 1. Would highly recommend Rat Race and this event!

Rat Race’s Isles Ultra was a leap
into both my first Rat Race adventure and multi-day event. The event was an experience I’ll never forget; for the fabulous landscapes with the multi-mixed terrain, the ever changing weather, the knowledge, skills and abilities of the Rat Race crew, who quickly picked up on what each person required and supplied it be it food, motivation, time out, a front seat in the bus or an impromptu pit stop disco and the comradeship of fellow Rat Racers. The Rat Race crew worked tirelessly both upfront and behind the scenes to overcome unexpected challenges and did an excellent job. All of this resulted in an adventure that is difficult to adequately describe in words and beyond doubt worth the continuous daily effort you need to put in to complete it.

This was my first Rat Race event. In fact I’d booked an ultramarathon with them a couple of years ago but needed to cancel due to injury. With 6 weeks notice they gave me an event voucher for the entire amount that I could use on any future event. For most ultras if you cancel you either lose your money entirely or only get perhaps 50% refund so I feel this is very fair. The event transfer process was pretty straightforward too, and I ended up booking the Isles Ultra. Everything about the event was fantastic, with great organisation, brilliant food and accommodation provision and attention to detail - little things such as your bags being all ready in your room when you arrive at the accommodation at the end of a long day make a huge difference on a six-day ultra. What sets them apart though is the team - every member of the crew was hard-working, kind and went above and beyond to look after competitors. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will certainly be booking other events.

I recently completed Isles Ultra(Outer Hebrides). The event surpassed all expectation. The Outer Hebrides being both beautiful and challenging.
The support team were first class. James (event lead) was professional and I felt made sure everyone had an opportunity to reach their own goals for the challenge. The trip ran so smoothly and I know James worked hard to make this happen. Jools and Jaqs couldn't do enough to help, nothing was too much trouble, supporting and encouraging every step of the way. Medic Robyn may be small but she is dynamite, fixing us up to run another day, she is a gem.

I know how hard they all worked behind the scenes ensuring our safety, comfort and giving us all the best chance at the event.

A life affirming challenge, made even better by all the crew.

The location was extraordinary in the Hebrides, and this was the perfect test of how far you could go physically and mentally. Fell in love with the islands, the challengers were fab and the crew outstanding.

James led the challenge for Rat Race and always had such a complex challenge in hand. Robyn the Doc was instantly there when needed and patched us up beautifully. Joolsy and Jacqs as crew just get it. Encouraging, sympathetic, and always brought you up in low tired moments. Love all these guys and grateful for seeing us through.

It was epic and hugely grateful to the RR team and fellow challengers who made this an unforgettable experience!

We had such a great weekend at the santorini race. The team were awesome, organised, friendly, and knowledgeable! The build up to the race had them sending us all the info we needed so we arrived fully prepared, the brief was done, kit checks done, trackers issued and we were ready to go. On the day The local Kayaking leaders were bob on, they had the banter but were safe at all times! Pit crews were awesome with well stocked pits full of snacks etc. And then The post race dinner was lovely.... I'm not sure we could have expected anything more really, actually, there is one thing. Proper photos from a DSLR camera. The team were awesome taking and sending us photos from their phones but they lose their quality when sent over WhatsApp and arent "professional" photos anyway. Having a proper organised quality approach to photos would be the icing on the cake I recon. But if that is the only thing I can find as an improvement I think its fair to say they knocked it out of the park...

Had the pleasure of doing the Isles Ultra with Rat Race. What an event..so much fun, comradeship and a true challenge. Special note to James who was an incredible host and guide (if exceptionally poor at table football), Jools for his superb DJ skills and constant optimism and enthusiasm, Jacqs for one of the most memorable pit stops and the greatest wraps in the Outer Hebredes and Robyn for her pocket sized doctoring and stopping me from destroying my liver! Highly recommended event for those who want to push themselves to the limit and beyond

The Santorini circuit was absolutely incredible! Rat Race puts on a fantastic race experience! My husband and I traveled from the US to do this race. It was truly an epic experience, worth every penny, and worth every minute of the 11 hour plane ride to get there.

Rat Race Santorini Circuit. What an amazing race! Santorini has always been on my bucket list for many years. I thought I could do both a visit and sport. Not only that, do some very unique that many have not done and the opportunity to run through the city corridors of Santorini. I am in!! The course is very well thought out and supported by staff. The staff were very supportive, helpful and compassionate! The course provided a scenic type tour of the various highlights/structures of each island. Such a variety terrain provided its own challenges which I appreciate. I felt safe with satellite trackers during the race. The training provided the day before for the kayak potion top notch, was very useful and much needed on what to expect. It is not like you will be kayaking across a clear lake. The run through the town's were a highlight for me. The finish was priceless which staff and various finished runners cheering for you!! Highly recommend this adventure!

This was my first Rat Race, but it will not be my last. The team are such a professional outfit, they leave nothing to chance and safety is paramount. They made sure all we had to worry about was finishing the event. A very friendly, and very professional team 10/10

I participated at the Maltese Falcon. It was a beautiful journey. I like the fact that you have to deal with what recources are avalable. It's a challenge, not a competition. The guidance and the help from the ratrace crew are perfect. The hotels we stayed in were superb.
I had a great time with all the ratrace paricipants and completing this challenge. The running on Gozo I should not worry to much about. It's quite fun. The kayak stage is beautiful! And the last part on the bike is hilly and sometimes hard, but that's part of the experience. It shouldn't be a walk in the park always. And it's also not something you can't overcome. You can do it! Believe and you will achieve!
Make sure you've done your practice rounds at home and you will be fine.

So lovely to meet inspired participants with some fun banter, a love for the outdoors and a good challenge.
Already signed up for my next event and no doubt many more to follow.

Jim and his team were excellent providing awesome guidance, organisation and tireless support through the route.
The route itself particularly the biking was extremely hilly - certainly more than I had expected and the bikes provided were pretty basic but we got through it.

We were the lucky few to experience Santorini fully on foot and by kayak. The course was wonderfully thought out and really challenging, actually ended up being harder than it was presented. For a destination holiday and a “little run” it was exactly what I could have hoped for. The staff were very supportive and helped in any way they could. My only criticism is that I had to make other accommodation arrangements for my wife who wasn’t running with us. Not being familiar with the area it was very hard to plan. A list of places close to the hotels being used by Rat Race would have been fantastic.

Santorini circuit. Beautiful beautiful route. I ask for a “boost” on the land route as I was very tired after the 1st kayak 1st run part and 2nd kayak. It was still amazing.
Super friendly organisers who couldn’t do enough for me.

Cannot fault the staff, the facilities and everyone that completed Santorini rat race circuit. Hard at times but anything worth having is gained through hard work.
