Wow, where do I start? What a fantastic stay I had with my fiancé from arrival to departure. They made me feel like a million dollars —from the layout to the staff—everything was perfect. You would have thought you were in the Maldives. Honestly, the adults-only villa was something else. I even proposed to my partner underneath the giraffes kissing. I knew that, with the mountains in the background and the sun setting, it was going to be amazing. Had breakfast at the villa every morning—fresh fruit, bacon, the lot; you name it, they will bring it. I can honestly say it was worth every penny. You can't put a price on an experience like this. Our stay at the Royal River Luxury Hotel in Tenerife was extremely disappointing. Despite being a group of nine, the staff’s attitude was unwelcoming from the start. Rooms were allocated haphazardly, scattered across the property without prior notice. Multiple requests to change rooms were met with the same “fully booked” excuse, with no effort to accommodate us. Additionally, we were unable to dine at the hotel restaurant even once during our five-night stay, as we were constantly told it was fully booked. The lack of proper service and the dismissive attitude of the staff made it clear that the hotel is overpriced and overrated

This was a bad experience for us as experienced luxury hotel users.
We were charged £7,800 for a half board one week stay…booked directly with the hotel, but we can see that for next March 2025 we could get the same room, half board, for £5,500 with a third party…why is the hotel not offering the best price? This is the most expensive one week stay we have had in Europe and the experience, facilities, service in no way matched the expectation.
Basically we’ve been ripped off by about £2,000!
Many of the facilities are very nicely presented and have great potential, but the service, management and staff do not understand the requirements of providing a luxury experience. Examples of poor service are; poor room service (constant reminders needed); inconsistent turndown service (some nights none at all); inconsistent pool cleaning (some days none at all); no plan for indoor bar service when it rains/is cold.
However, our room was very small with no satisfactory separate bathroom and inadequate cupboard, washbasin and changing facilities.
The location is not good, being a 10 minute drive from the local beach and the hotel does not offer a free bus service.
We will not be returning again

Excellent property, but poor customer service.
Management is complacent about it’s success, and not interested in feedback or resolving concerns.

Amazing venue and the staff are beyone fantastic! This sets the standards for 5 star accommodation and is way ahead from its competitors . Nothing was ever too much!
