The facility in Warwick

The facility in Warwick, Warwickshire, is clean and comfortable, the food looks good and the staff are so kind and caring towards the residents.

Not a caring establishment

Outdated understaffed establishment
Residents shouting at each other wandering around unsupervised
Personal belongings lost and shared between residents
Residents are dirty with greasy hair
Plastic duvets plastic mattress
Staff shout in residents faces and intimate them
Staff ignoring residents calls for help
Old fashioned surroundings with a prison feel to the bedrooms with hard floors and old decor.
It feels like a detention centre
Should have cameras supervising your loved ones in the evenings
Profit driven company & Rowena has not been inspected since 2022
They act as if they have a current rating of good but it is outdated and over due
£1000 a week 40 residents
Profit is the focus and Runwood homes are a profit driven company
Residents hang around a dining room at night with no staff to observe them
Some walk the corridors for hours
Sone sit rocking back & forth or bent over for long periods with no one to adjust them or make them feel better
Many residents have bruises & black eyes
Left without access to water and scolded like naughty children
There is no dignity or respect
Very sad to witness this place as a care facility

Cruel 'care'

Cruel 'care'. Residents left watching horror films on TV in a dementia ward or loud ghetto music put on the tv by certain staff. Regular falls and damage to unattended patients, we were shocked by the massively understaffed unprofessional place where residents never see outside the building, it's an awful, cruel , wicked company that should be shut down.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would! Avoid!

If I could give this 0 stars, I would.

Please avoid working for Runwood Homes / Sanders Senior Living.

Management controlled by head office is toxic, nosey, untrustworthy and debilitating.
They only promote those that Gordon knows personally or who he “likes” (which in itself is weird!)
The management style is a debacle - expect to be constantly micromanaged and be shown no appreciation for your hard working efforts. Head Office and Regional do not communicate effectively - you’ll get a crossover of communication constantly.

Everything is handled so unprofessionally.
You cannot trust anyone you talk to.

Avoid working for this company at all costs! Please!

Don’t work for this company

after 8 years of working for this company they decide not to pay me for holidays because I respectfully warned them that I would be leaving because I would have sold the house, when they noticed my holidays they only paid for one week and stole my money, inside the office thinks they are all smart

The worst management ever

The worst management ever!

They only promote people who are close to the management or their friends disregarding all the staff who have the experience or been in the company for years! No wonder no more tenured staff in runwood, so political! And those who are in those positions are either rude, bossy or racist!

Experienced it almost every year! Changing of managements in a whole roller coaster year what a system

I worked in Sanders Senior Living in…

I worked in Sanders Senior Living in Chalkwell Grange in August 2023 and I only worked there for 6 days on the sixth day I spoke to the manager and the finance department letting them aware that I am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to me, unfortunately after 6 days of working there I've decided that this wasn't the job for me, the manager of the house I think her name was Hannah the Chalkwell Grange branch firstly, she said, OK it's not for everyone and left the office without any other word. I thought that I did the right thing in letting her know in person and on the shift, as most people with no integrity would normally do, a no show by not turning up for their shift and literally leave the job and not answer their phones when their employer calls them. I try my best to live a life with integrity, do on to other's as you would like to be done on to you, as a Christian believer in Jesus Christ, I believe you should always leave a company on a good note.
So at the end of my shift I asked what do you need from me since its my last day today, the finance team manager who I was speaking with alongside the manager of the home of Chalkwell Grange Hannah I believe her name was, she told me nothing only bring back the uniform which I did, I already brought back the uniform with me to work as i knew that it was going to be my last day there, they gave me 3 uniform and I washed the 2 uniform plus the one I was wearing and I handed all 3 uniform in the end of my shift. When it was time for me to be paid for the 6 days of work which was a 12 hours shift for every day that I worked in Chalkwell Grange Sanders senior living I was under paid and was paid late and when I tried to call the home several times the home would not pick my calls it would go on answering machine and when they do pick up when the staff hear that it's me calling the staff would hang up the calls or laughing at the background and not pick my calls when I would attempt to call back. When I asked to speak to the manager of Sanders Senior Living in Chalkwell Grange branch the manager was either always on a meeting or just TOO busy. I Would call the head office in Runwood and the staff tried to help but each time they would call on my behalf the staff in Chalkwell Grange Sanders senior living would not be helpful making me chase them for my money. I worked only for 6 days and my experience there wasn't pleasant the staff was either very bossy or just gossippers and would not send me on a break that I was in title to for at least 1 hour break on a 12 hours shift I sometimes would only have either 15 mins break or 30 mind break and that depends on which staff you work with like I worked with this girl called Leah I was shadowing her it was my first day first shift she was supposed to show me around do an induction and show me the ropes instead I would often hear her gossiping with other memeber of staff about either other staff members or even residents it was a very gossiping home to work with this girl called Leah in particular she never told me to go on a break do my first day I only had 30 min break instead of an hour because she never told me how long my break was which was an hour, so even time when I worked during those days I would either have 15 mins break on a 12 hours shift or 30 mins on a 12 hour shift never did I have a full hour break.
Besides that the home was very Very Very filthy and dirty though they had cleaners the job was not properly done, I would see food that I saw on a Monday floor on a residents room on a Monday and on a Friday it was still there, the cleaners did not clean it. And the food in Chalkwell Grange Sanders senior living was awful literally everytime I worked there, when i was offered food, i noticed the meat or fish was always gone off/bad I would always get a bad stomach ache, and one shift in particular all the residents had food poisoning that every 15 mins we had to change them frequently until our shift ended was was 8pm from lunch time 12:30 till 8pm it was horrible.and unfortunately some residents would be left in bed literally from morning till after late noon time still sleeping from the night before and when it comes to pad check the residents can sit in their own faeces for hours without being attended to and checked the staff are more interested in their phones and gossiping. It was a horrible 6 days of experience in working in Sanders senior living Chalkwell Grange. Would not recommend anyone to work there or do NOT send your loved ones there. The staff turnover is very high, CQC visited Sanders Senior Living in Chalkwell Grange whilst I was working there and the manager I think her name was called Hanna, was going around telling all the staff to smile so the CQC people would get the impression that the staff are happy working there the woman whom I was paired to work with said to me after the manager left," I'm not smiling and pretending to be happy when am not.

Very friendly until they are not

Initially the manager came out to meet my mum prior to her short respite stay. All appeared well. Mum went in for 2 weeks. She had a nice room and access to shared facilities which are very outdated but clean. Whilst appearing to not have advanced dementia, my mum covers it well. She usually stayed in her room "reading" which she is unable to do anymore as she cannot remember what she is reading. Needless to say she came back having slid a lot, mentally. With stimulation she was able to regain some of what she lost. When we viewed the home, staff were sat in chairs chatting. Mum came home without a dementia clock £130, then the staff kindly brought it round without the charging wire. So we cannot use it now. Didn't want to respond to messages about the missing item. Mum also arrived home without her medications, which we also had to ask for to be returned. Then we received an unpleasant demand for £1700 after my mum returned home, which had already been paid (using the reference details from the invoice) before my mum had left the home. This was sorted by Jo, but we shouldn't have been harassed in the first place.
I called every day when my mum was in there and the staff were friendly and always obliged when I asked to speak with my mum. The place was kept clean and the food edible (according to my mum). We thought we had found a great place for respite going forward, but sadly it isn't with Runwood Homes (Rowena House).

Absolutely awful place to be

Absolutely awful place to be, homes are filthy dirty and are running alive with insects and rodents. Ants are all over the places where food is prepared and nothing is done to fix it. Place stinks of urine and faeces. Staff are more interested in paperwork or laughing and joking amongst themselves than they are about the residents. Residents are just left in front of a TV in wheelchairs all day to fall asleep and hang out of their chairs. Call bells are constantly going off and no one goes to answer them.

Agree with a few others here the level…

Agree with a few others here the level of 'not caring' is 100%.. my father had 5 days of neglect...no medication given and family not told of this, no glass to enable him a drink, wet trousers, covered in spit and dribble ,the list is endless...the staff are happy to smile and pretend they care ...Needless to say we bought him home today in a much worse state that when he went in 5 days ago...we asked for park view as it claims to be dementia trained and offer personal care ...I doubt any of them understand dementia as clearly my father wasn't 'cared' for in any way at all. if a loved one has dementia do NOT place them in Park views care

Neglect in 'Care' Home

I am absolutely disgusted by the level of neglect that my Grandmother had in this so called 'care' home - St Michael's Care Home in Aylsham, Norfolk. She was not offered a shower in the 3 weeks she was there and even if she had of wanted to there were no towels. The staff didn't ensure she took her medication properly as we found it scattered all over her table. The whole place absolutely reeks of urine to the point where it is unbearable. She had residents coming into her room and stealing her things making her very distressed and when this was raised nothing was done to stop it. My Grandmother was left in the same clothes for 4 days without anyone assisting her in changing. She had a fall in her room which was probably because her walking frame was across the room, defeating the object of it. She had no interaction with the members of staff. It seems like she was just dumped in her room and left. I am so absolutely appalled by the neglect that she had, it is nothing short of abuse
