The zoom session that I had with Dr. Shemmassian was very engaging. I really learned a lot!

Dr. Shemmassian took the time to not just tell us but to help us understand the components of a great personal essay. He made sure to walk us through each step and instead of lecturing, his talk was very interactive which further enhanced the understanding that we gained.

Maybe the Worst decision I have made in the school path of my elder kids. Close to a Scam. They promise a lot and deliver poorly. They try to squeeze money from you with the use of tutors. And Forget about Dr. Shemm he is only there when he needs to sign you in. Even if you ask for him you wont see him again. I think the best thing they offer is their web page...just take all the info you can from there (with a grain of salt) and consider yourself lucky. Stay away. Stay with your conventional or regular College Advisor. They care a lot more about your kid.

The team was very responsive and very helpful. I felt that my consultants were very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend!

This is a warning to anyone considering buying their secondaries. While it may be tempting to get example essays for all the schools in the US, it is actually very misleading and very overpriced. All of the essays, except the Noorda one, have been generated by ChatGPT. It is very obvious from the generic examples and excessive use of em-dashes for every single paragraph.
You could just generate example essays yourself using AI for free and spare paying so much money. I really regret this purchase.

Shemmassian Academic Consulting did an incredible job helping me refine my vet school personal statement. Dr. Harries is very knowledgeable and supportive; he built my skills while helping me convey my story professionally. I was more than pleased with the advice and edits and felt much more confident in my application afterward. They truly know what they're doing, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone applying to professional school!

My tutors were very supportive throughout my journey. They had separated the brainstorming and writing portions into different portions that helped me formulate my ideas and then write it into a well written essay. I definitely think that I would not be able to come up with the ideas through this consulting on my own. I achieved my goal despite seeking their aid late and not feeling very confident. They are very fast to respond and worked with me in all the steps for my medical school applications. Do yourself a favor and start early!

My experience with Shemmassian has been very poor. I used their tutoring services for months to prepare for COMLEX Level 1 and saw no improvement on my COMSAE scores. Be warned, this company is not qualified to provide tutoring services to osteopathic medical students. I was lied to multiple times and assured that they would be able to prepare me for my board exam, but the company has NO tutors employed with osteopathic medicine experience. I am down $11,000 now. Even worse, when I reached out to Shemmassian about my disappointment, my emails were ignored. I do not recommend them.

As with all pre med advising consulting services, working with an advisor is not cheap. However, among all the different companies, I truly believe that I got the best bang for my buck with Shemmassian. I specifically worked with Dr.Tran, who was an incredible source of knowledge and support throughout my application processs. Working with her has made this stressful process feel manageable and structured!

I had a great experience with my Shemmassian MCAT tutor. Seth was incredibly knowledgable, communicative, and supportive. He went above and beyond in every aspect and explained every concept in terms that were digestible and relatable. He was responsive and had a great sense of humor. 10/10 recommend!!

My experience with SAC Consulting was truly outstanding. Their expert review, insightful editing, and timely, personalized advice played a pivotal role in guiding me through every step of the medical school application process. From crafting my personal statement to preparing for interviews, the team’s thoughtful feedback and deep understanding of admissions helped me tell my story authentically and compellingly.

What truly stood out was how much care and time my advisor took to understand my background and goals. I especially appreciated the in-depth meetings where we strategically discussed every part of my application—down to the structure of essays and even how to write a simple yet effective email to request a letter of recommendation. My advisor was personable, invested, and truly cared about helping me succeed.

I’m incredibly grateful for SAC’s support throughout this journey and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking thoughtful, comprehensive, and personalized guidance through the medical school admissions process.

Shemmassian takes great care with every step of your application. I personally enjoyed the extensive meetings to discuss and game plan every aspect of my application, from the structure of my essays to the construction of a simple email asking a professor for a letter of recommendation. Your adviser is personable, and actually takes time to understand your story and how that story influenced your decision to apply a certain university.

I had an excellent experience with Shemmassian Academic Consulting. I had the pleasure of working with Evan Chen, MD for medical application advising, personal statement, and W&A feedback. I especially appreciated the structured approach of my advising session and the personalized guidance tailored to my background and experiences. Dr. Chen was consistently supportive, offering detailed action plans, prompt and thoughtful feedback, and exceptional responsiveness throughout the entire process.

So helpful! It was so valuable having one-on-one tutoring sessions to close knowledge gaps and practice passages together. I would highly recommend!

Very great support and company for MCAT studying. Could not have done it without them.

I would absolutely recommend Shemmassian to anybody applying to medical school. I ended the 2024-2025 cycle with 5 acceptances (accepted at every school I interviewed at) and 7 total interview invites. I loved my advisors, Rose and Layla, along with my writing advisor, Logan. When matched with a writing advisor I didn't mesh well with, Shemmassian switched me to someone who better suited my needs. I am very pleased with the advice and assistance I received. My stats were not perfect, and I feel the support Shemmassian provided gave my application an edge. I am the first in my family to pursue a career in medicine and am so grateful I used Shemmassian to help me earn an acceptance in my first cycle applying.

It was my second time applying to medical school when I decided to work with Shemmassian Academic Consulting. After a discouraging first application cycle, I was seriously questioning whether I had it in me to apply again (to give you some context, I’m not a high-stat applicant). Despite my hesitation, I decided to consult with Dr. Shemmassian. During our conversation, he carefully reviewed my application, highlighted its strengths, and gave me the confidence I needed by demonstrating how a strategic shift in my approach could significantly improve my chances of acceptance.

I signed up for the Combination + Plan, and with the support of my dedicated admissions team, I was able to craft a standout personal statement and activities section that helped differentiate me from other applicants. As a result, I received interview invitations from some of my top-choice schools and ultimately earned two acceptances!

For anyone who feels anxious about the interview process, I cannot recommend the interview prep training from Shemmassian Academic Consulting enough. The personalized coaching was invaluable in helping me refine my responses, boost my confidence, and approach each interview with a clear sense of purpose. Thanks to their expert guidance, I felt truly prepared and ready to succeed.

My experience with Shemmassian Academic Consulting was excellent. I went to a large undergraduate institution and I am the first person in my family to apply to medical school, so I didn't have any intimate resources at my immediate disposal to tackle the daunting task of applying to medical school. My Shemmassian consultant did a great job at zooming out and planning from a big picture POV, and advising on small and specific details and strategies. They made this impossibly large task smaller and more digestible.

I worked with Shemmassian for my medical school application and found the service to be wonderful! I appreciated the long-term one-on-one guidance for all steps of my application, including MCAT studying, writing my essays, and interview prep. I'm thrilled with the service and really appreciate their wisdom and guidance throughout this process! I would highly recommend the MCAT tutoring service in particular :) Very extensive and thorough, with a great tutor, and helped me increase my score by 19 points from start to finish!

Shemassian did a great job providing quick and helpful responses in all parts of the application process, and were always willing to go the extra step to make sure I felt comfortable throughout the year. If I had to apply again, I'd definitely work with Shemmassian without a doubt.
