It's ok but soon after it will become a pain. The buckle has a lever with teeth that when engaged, will bite into the leather belt for keeping the leather attached to the buckle. Great when it's new, but in just a few times of wear, the leather will permanently indent where the retaining lever is and the lever will flop open and detatch from the belt, usually with the buckle flying off to the floor. It's easy to reattach but who wants to do this every other time you put the belt on. You can always trim the leather creating a new attachment area for the buckle but this seems to be "life limiting" for the longevity of the product. Belts need to be simple and you should not have to mess around with them. Nice idea, but really just another gadget. Would be much better to have the leather sewn on to the buckle. The ratchet mechanism seems to work well.

I liked how the belt worked in many respects. However, it was fairly common after a month or so for the buckle to ocassionally fall off when putting it on. Easy enough to put it back together though as it stretched I found myself having to cut off the end so the buckle was be less prone to coming off. Biggest issue was that after maybe a year the leather started cracking. In more than one spot. On both sides. Had to stop using it because it was obvious that at some point it was going to fail completely and didn't want that to happen at an inopportune time. Made me think that perhaps it was not genuine leather (as stamped) but some sort of composite.

Love SlideBelts' products. Buckle doesn't feel cheap - solid construction with a nice release mechanism compared to the older style that other brands use. The ratchet belt design is something that will see you curse if you should ever go back to using the traditional style with holes that stretch and are at fixed intervals unless you poke a custom hole. With Ratchet belts, such as SlideBelts, every experience is a perfect fit. Eaten too much at a restaurant? Ease the discomfort with a little lift of the release mechanism and appreciate the instant relief.

This year SlideBelt did a crowdfunding drive. I only spotted the event at the 11th hour, but didn't hesitate buying into the company. I'm not exactly wealthy, but definitely believed in them to continue to grow, enough to put my money where my mouth it. Looking forward to riding the rise in success of SlideBelts!

The belt is poor quality. It's a great buckle idea, but the quality they use for the "leather" is so poor these don't last very long. I've had mine for less than 6 months and it's about useless at this point.

Update, I contacted their customer service and they are shipping me a new belt. Pretty cool. I hope it lasts longer.

Great idea, flawed design. Claw on buckle rips end of belt at least once a week forcing you to trim another 1/4" off length. Eventually the belt won't fit your waist any more. As long as they keep sending me replacement belts (3 so far) I'll keep wearing it.

The belt worked wonderfully for a few months, then just quit altogether. For such a pricey belt, we are not satisfied at all with its performance.

My waistline fluctuates, resulting in ugly worn out holes in each belt; I recently came across SlideBelts online, and bought one, plus two spare leather and two spare buckles. They are a godsend and living here in Singapore, the merchandise were shipped speedily to me without hassle whatsoever. SlideBelts are surely the best thing to have happened to belts!!!

had a malfunction with my belt. stopped into their business and explained what was happening. the owner immediately went into the shop and returned with a new belt and buckle. i couldn't be more impressed or happy. they are a great neighborhood business and i will help promote them whenever possible. they get ten stars from me. sincerely, gene from folsom

I have 4 of their belts and wear them all the time. I find them to be excellent, easy to use, and they allow me to wear them even when I lose or gain some weight! (Ok, I know NONE of us ever gain weight!! :-))

The price is right for the quality, variety, customer service, price and speedy delivery. I have purchase from them three time and heartily recommend them to anyone.

If it was a $10 belt, it would be fine, just like the adjustable belt it is based on that I wore in the military. But for all the ads out there that made me think they really had something new, I was very disappointed. It was heavier up front than any other belt I have, so it just won't stay level. Even more important, for $60 I would expect a belt suited for a suit. This is absolutely not the belt to wear with a suit.

I couldn't get to the site which was totally blocked by the discount coupon--how stupid is that?

For those of you who have trouble with the buckle coming off the belt unexpectedly this may help. I put a small piece of tape over the back of the buckle where the buckles belt grip is located. This keeps the gripper in place until you want to separate the belt from the buckle.

I find the belts last about 1 year but the buckles go on and on like the energizer bunny.

I thought it was great, until I could not take it off , it was pulling the teeth out of the under side, I shortend the belt so it would latch in a nother place and the same thing happened again .

Buckle just does not stay clipped to the belt after you cut it to size.
Customer service said it must have been a bad belt. Replaced it but have the same problem with both belts and the replacement. Maybe it is the canvass belts and not the others.

Caution, Belts are not returnable. That should have been my warning.

Caution when ordering these belts
This company stupidly asked for my review and I am giving them one!
I ordered two of these belts and was charged for them but they never arrived. It seems that there is no one answering emails in Customer Service (a misnomer). Many times I have emailed them, called them, etc. and no one has ever replied. I may have lost my money, but also intend to write bad review anywhere I can so the next potential customer knows how bad this company is regarding customer assistance.

Belt is a great idea but poor design. Buckle constantly falls off when not being worn. I have 2 and l like the concept but needs a way to keep the buckle in place when not in use.

I bought a belt in Apr, 17, had a problem with the buckle (flap open when belt not in use), called service and they immediately sent me a new buckle of the same design. Had a similar problem with new buckle and called again, and service allowed me to choose a new buckle which they felt
would not give me a similar problem. The new buckle arrived and worked as it should. I will now have it monogrammed at a jewelry store. Great job, to service dept of Slidebelts.

Horrible design horrible customer service. Looks good but epic fail. Belt does not attach to buckle for long. Is very hard to fit end of belt thru buckle. Ratchets do not go far enough to the end so you have a very long slack on the end. Contact customer service regarding this issue and they are only like oh well maybe in the future we will fix it. No offer to refund. Bad product bad company. Run by a bunch of startup douchebags who obviously know they have a crap product and once they get your money they just don't care that it does not work. Also they are probably in court right now because I saw the same design on a infomercial for 2 of these for 19.99. Wish I would have seen that earlier I wouldn't feel so bad about buying a piece of garbage because that's what that belt is.

Lve the belt, love the idea of the belt, love the look of the belt -- if the slide catch hadn't broklen six weeks out I'd be wearing that belt right now. So very disappointed.
