I thought this three week tour (Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet) was great - it did what it said on the tin! My tour mostly ran during May, but the last part - Tibet - was in June. This was not a good time of year for mountain views (except in Tibet) but it was great for seeing wildflowers and jacaranda in Bhutan and to benefit from fresh lychees in Nepal! The description indicated quite a lot of overland travel, especially in the Tibet part, so it wasn't a surprise. Bus travel in Nepal is a bit gruelling mostly due to large road infrastructure improvement schemes, so road travel should be smoother in future years. It is an interesting way to see the country, and the bus company Swotah use was pretty good. In Tibet, the road infrastructure is amazing and the very widespread surveillance 'noticeable'. Guides in every location were excellent, especially in Bhutan and Tibet where it was the same guide and driver for the entire time. In the Nepal part, there were different guides in different locations (e.g. Chitwan, Pokhara etc). I only booked a couple of months before the tour, and didn't realise I could have said more of this or less of that, as I thought it was a group tour. It turned out that I was the only person on the Bhutan and Nepal parts, and in a group only for the Tibet part. This was probably a good balance. The tour is shared between different local travel companies in different countries – the organisation was pretty seamless and Swotah – and travel consultant Sijal – were in touch regularly to answer questions and support. Communications are obviously more restricted in Tibet, where the only app I could access on my mobile was my work email, but who wants to have their face in their mobile on a tour like this! A word of advice – the Tibet tour involves time spent at over 5,000 metres; although we were not doing much that was strenuous, all six of us experienced some altitude impacts (headaches, very rapid breathing & dizziness) so I’d recommend you take along some Diamox – in case. On my last evening in Kathmandu, Sijal took me to the Swayamhunath Stupa, on his motorcycle.. This was a pretty special way to end the experience.

We had a fantastic trip to Nepal and Bhutan and are more than happy to recommend Swotah travel. We decided on Swotah based on their itinerary and ability to customise as required. Additionally, the fact that they have a European representative makes communications so much easier as they will happen in real time and not time zone dependent.
The organisation was pretty much perfect, with a few hiccups, but no more than what to expect for a longer trip and certainly nothing to complain about. The representatives were great, friendly and super helpful.
The itinerary was packed and we're still digesting all the amazing sights and impressions, but overall, we would highly recommend Swotah, and we will most definitely contact them again if we decide to travel in that region again.
For us, it was more of a cultural trip, but for the more adventurous there are lots of options too and judging from the amount of customisation available, I would say there is definitely something for everyone.

We did a rock climbing trip with Swotah travel and it was perfectly organized. The guides had a great sense of safety and made sure that everything was secure. The material was all of very good quality.
I had mentioned the climbing level of myself and my wife and they managed to find an area that suited both our levels perfectly.

The day the trip was originally planned had to be canceled due to bad weather. The responsible of Swotah travel came to talk to us about alternatives and how to solve this problem. The very flexible mindset of the company allowed us to easily change the date of the trip without any hassle.
In short: a very well organized trip!!

My sister and I just completed a tour with Swotah that included parts of the Millennium trek, and tours in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Lumbini. The trek was an incredible experience with RajKuman as our guide. My heart goes out to all the families we met on the Millennium trek who shared their homes and lives with us, and made us feel so welcome.

We had an excellent, reliable and safe driver for transport between locations. All our guides for Kathmandu tours, Chitwan, and Lumina were smart, knowledgeable, insightful, passionate about the area, and spoke wonderful English.

Swotah selected very comfortable accommodation for us, looked after us very well, and were there 24/7 if we had any questions or concerns. They really went the extra mile.

I highly recommend Swotah Travel and Adventure Company and the Millennium Homestay Trek.

Perfectly organized and personnalized felt listened and totally safe travelling solo. At each destinations somebody was waiting for me. Excellent guides all the 11 days trip.

Excellent trip 'best of Nepal and Bhutan'. Good guides - special mentions for Sijal who coordinated the tour on the ground; Bijay and Sandji for the Trek; and Devin and Yeshi (Bhutan Aries Tours and Treks) for the Bhutan trip. Food and accomadtion especially good in Bhutan.
Not without a couple of issues - steps taken to prevent reoccurence

I had an amazing experience travelling with Swotah for my Everest Three High Passes Trek. I would highly recommend them to everyone and will travel with them again.

I researched many other companies, including larger international ones which I had travelled with previously but decided on Swotah. For me, after communicating with others I found Swotah extremely prompt and informative with their communication.

When I arrived in Nepal, everything they had organised (money exchange, SIM card, crampons, copies of my documents) was ready and waiting for me.
Swotah and it's employees will do everything to ensure your travel with them is amazing. Big shout out to Ajay and Sijal for this.

When it came to the trekking Bijay was fabulous. The man who looked after everything, from informative inormation to being our waiter to teaching me Nepali card games and always ensuring you were doing ok.

The trek itself was simply spectacular!!!!
Unfortunately I only got to achieve one high pass and EBC, as I was helicoptered off the mountain due to altitude sickness.

When a trip doesn't go as planned it highlights how much people care and what they will do.
Swotah looked after me and made sure I was ok, liaised with my travel insurance, stayed with me to ensure I was picked up, checked up on me when I was admitted to hospital and assisted me to adjust remaining plans that I had actually booked separately.

If you are checking reviews, going back and forth, I highly highly recommend traveling with Swotah.
The team is amazing and will look after you so well because their care and dedication is authentic.

Had a great time on the Poon Hill trek, organized by Swotah Travel. My guide, Bijay Gurung, was the best: he was punctual, attentive, spoke very good English and was just fun to trek with. Bijay selected great guest houses - comfortable, with hot showers and direct great views of Annapurna South (Night 1 in Ulleri) and Dhaulagiri (Night 2 in Ghorepani). He always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed; you could tell he was very experienced.

If you’re looking for an authentic trekking experience away from the tourist crowds, the Millennium Trek is it. The locals are incredibly welcoming. This trek truly shows the heart of rural Nepal, with jungle trails, rice fields, rivers, and bridges making for an adventurous journey.
One of the highlights was the Millennium Cave, an awe-inspiring spot with hundreds of bats. I even had the chance to meet shamans and witness their unique rituals.
Special mention to my guide, Rajkumar, and porter, Maila. They know the area thoroughly and made the whole experience feel like a family adventure. I highly recommend trekking with them if you want to see the real Nepal! And to go with Swotah Travel. They know what they do!

The trek was well structured (anti-clockwise) with the most difficult pass at the beginning. We had a great guide, Bijay. He was fun and always made sure that we were ok and set a good pace for the trek. He also adapted the plan based on our preferences. The tea houses and the food was good. They were really accommodating both when my flight was cancelled and when we wanted to complete the trek sooner as we had a fast pace.
The trek was great and the views amazing.
I would definitely recommend it!

Il team di Swotah Travel and Adventure ha dimostrato una buona professionalità e una certa conoscenza del territorio. La comunicazione è stata puntuale e abbastanza precisa. Una volta arrivati a Kathmandu, siamo stati accolti da personale cordiale e disponibile, che ci ha orientati attraverso ogni fase del nostro viaggio.
Il percorso coordinato dall'agenzia: Everest Base Camp, Gokyo e Cho La Pass, è stato straordinariamente panoramico e avventuroso. La vista dei laghi turchesi di Gokyo, abbracciati dalle cime himalayane, e il passo Cho La con il suo fascino selvaggio e le sfide tecniche, hanno superato ogni nostra aspettativa. Per affrontare la salita all'Everest Base Camp in sicurezza e' fondamentale affidarsi a dei veri professionisti: Swotah Travel ci ha garantito l'aiuto di una guida e portatori non solo molto competenti ma anche estremamente gentili e disponibili. Durante il trekking, a causa di disguidi nei voli tra Ramechap e Lukla e di problemi di salute dei membri del gruppo, e' stato necessario affrontare cambiamenti di programma, richiedere l'aiuto di un elicottero, recuperare al buio due persone rimaste bloccate sul ghiacciaio: Swotah Travel ci ha aiutato a risolvere tutti gli imprevisti in sicurezza, anche i piu' preoccupanti. Ci ha aiutato anche nella scelta dei rifugi/hotel e nell'avere accesso ai pasti e ai servizi in modo veloce nonostante in alta stagione fosse ovunque pieno di turisti. My husband and I went on a 2 week trip to Nepal. When spoke to the wonderful Lesia we simply noted what are our desires and dreams and she along with Sijel and the entire team of Swotah travel lead by the wonderful AJ, tailor made the entire trip down to the very last detail with the ultimate guides, perfect homestay and exquisite sites. When we wanted to change something their availability and flexibility was amazing throughout the entire trip. I specifically want to recommend the wonderful guide we had in Pokhara- Ram, which hiked with us 3 days and was incredibly professional and so very kind and helpful! Also Kumari from Panauti community homestay who was simply an angle and made us feel right at home.
