Like many reviewers said, they lock you into a year contract because they know for a fact nobody would make it past month 3. Insane to pay over 250 bucks a month for a "listing" on a website very few people use anymore. I literally get more page clicks for free from google and google my business in a single day then i did from them in 6 months. But like me, plenty of people are desperate and fall for their incredibly well done sales pitch. The salesperson straight up lied his $#*! off on how we were ranking on google. He quickly diverted when i called him out. When you seem to be on the fence on whether to sign the contract or not they hit with the age old, "Oh we can't squeeze you in this month anyways we are full but i'll call my supervisor and see if we could make it happen" Yeah, i feel so dumb falling for that. When you complain to them they do pretend to be apologetic and will offer premium "upgrades" to your listing for free. Spend your money on a website or literally on anything else instead. I will say, the WebTrax tool is pretty interesting, but doesn't really result in any sales.
The only thing ThomasNet is used for anymore is companies using it to solicit YOU and contacting YOU to sell you something. Please, don't give these snake oil salesmen a single dollar. They are riding a sinking ship and milking it as long as possible.

We had an important customer complain that the Applications section of our website was not operating. We alerted ThomasNet and got an immediate response back from Isaac the team leader. Very quickly the team found the problem, repaired it and reported back on the fix. I find ThomasNet is very customer-focused, knowledgeable and innovative in their approach to problem solving.

We've been advertising with ThomasNet for over 10 years and we get very good results. It is our main source of leads. Be sure to work with your Rep closely to ensure your company is in the correct and active categories! Their reporting functions are great for warm outbound leads.

We run a 20 million annual revenue business and spend about $6000 per month on internet leads with Google ad words and others. They are good at selling the service and good at collecting the money but give you not good with delivering results

in 3 months we had 3 leads and all bad leads and they were charging $1200 per month .. and then when it doesn't work , try and cancel they threatened court and hold you, hostage ..

I think this is my first time ever writing a negative review for a company, because it was that bad.

I recently finished a 12-month advertising period with them and have nothing to show for it.

They also offer website services which I unfortunately used and it was a nightmare. Process was supposed to take 4 months, but it ended up taking 12. The website was so poorly done. Our blog page didn't even work after going live. Once they fixed that, we literally had a blog post on our website that was for some other company. They didn't catch those glaring mistakes and others during pre-launch or post-launch QC somehow.

I used to work for a marketing firm and partnered up with ThomasNet to provide additional lead generation sources to our clients. The agreed plan was that ThomasNet would write an eBook for our client on a specific topic, they would then push the ebook out to their large database, and our firm would receive leads of people who downloaded the ebook. Sounded like worthy endeavor but was thousands of dollars for the investment. You pay up front but if you break it down, each lead ends up costing almost $100 if memory serves me right.

We encountered the following issues:
- First off, their team is just completely unprofessional. They were sometimes behind schedule in building the ebook by months and would only finish if you reminded them about tasks. The work they did was then filled with lots of errors or very unimpressive. I was sometimes embarrassed to share the work with our clients because our firm had a higher standard when we created work for our clients in the past.
- Second - as far as the leads go, the program was a complete fraud. Our team would receive the leads and follow up on them. The leads would sometimes have absolutely nothing to do with what our clients manufactured ... example being a furniture company allegedly downloaded a book on thermal heatsinks. Also, I would have a client that manufactured packaging and another that manufactured thermal heatsinks ... so completely unrelated ... and we would somehow receive some of the same leads saying that people downloaded ebooks for both companies. The chances of that happening are extremely unlikely but we would see this happen all the time amongst all of our clients. The final straws were when our team would get email replies or have live conversations with the leads that would politely insist that they never downloaded an ebook on that topic and they would remember doing so. A few had said they were always getting several calls like this and they could never understand why. It was pretty obvious that ThomasNet was just picking people at random to fill the lead quota they promised us when we started the program. Our management did a very poor job on following up on this but when we finally confronted ThomasNet about this they pretended like they didn't know what the problem was and would lie that there was an error. We were told a few times they were looking into it but again they would never get back to us. It is extremely shady for a business of this size to do this to smaller companies. They think that they can't be touched because they are the big fish in the pond.
- Another area of scamming they would do ... you could set your leads to filter to only the types of leads that would be a fit. For example, maybe you were targeting only companies of a certain size or region. If you didn't pay attention, they would often try to pass leads in that did not fit your agreed upon filters.
- Overall we participated in this program with several clients over the course of about 12 months. The results were terrible and it is beyond obvious they are scamming any customers that go into this program. They were always finding different ways to try and explain how the leads worked as opposed to the truth. Then when it came to the other work they did, such as the ebooks or even website we had them work on, they were always behind schedule and provided extremely poor work when finally finished. Run away as fast as you can. Do not give this company any of your money or time.

They reached out to us Q4 of 2021 with a bunch of promises on how they can improve our business etc.
We have been with them over 6 months now and have gained $0 in referrals from them. I reached out to close our account as we are not seeing the benefits they implied we would receive. They essentially went on to say thats too bad but you are locked into the contract so you cant close your account.
This is why they force the contract on you when you sign up because they know a few months in everyone would be cancelling due to them not following through with all the promises they give at the beginning.
I do see a lot of negative reviews on Trustpilot and also on BBB so hopefully others will see all of these reviews before going down the same path.
