I am writing this review based purely on my experience of Timpson's customer service following a problem that occurred while my shoes were being repaired.

Although my shoes were damaged during the repair and could not be restored, Katy from Timpson resolved the issue promptly in a professional, understanding, and empathetic manner. She arranged a full refund, enabling me to purchase a replacement pair.
While I was disappointed that my original shoes could not be saved, I was very pleased with the way my complaint was handled. Thank you, Katy, for your excellent customer service.

Ordered a dog disc as walking past the Taunton shop (North Street?). Man was very friendly and helpful. As we left our daughter told him our toddler had been admiring the spiderman key that was displayed outside the shop. He immediately ran back into the shop and gave him a blank Spidey key. Our 4 year old then also wanted one and he gave her a princess key. 2 very happy children. I would add we are foster carers and both said children have been adopted by us. This employee- sorry didn't notice his name - is the embodiment of Timpsons and their links with adopted & fostered children. We had to go back and buy 2 keyrings for the keys but what a star employee! Thank you.
PS the dog disc was great as well

I took a pair of ladies wedge sandals to be resoled and was told it would cost £60 - yes £60 how can Timpsons justify this charge? It is cheaper to buy new sandals - not good in these days of recycling

This is an update on my previous review, which was very negative. In response, Timpsons suggested I contact their customer services department in order to investigate what went wrong. I did so a week ago, and apart from an automated message, I've heard nothing. Am I surprised? Considering their history with me, well no. I also suspect that asking to contact customer services is a ploy to make it look like they're doing something, rather than genuinely trying to sort a problem. Very dissapointing!

Great staff and Service at Gateshead Team Valley, Sainsbury's. Couldn't be more helpful fixing and repairing shoes. We need more Young Ladies like this and businesses.

Not open on time. Wisbech branch waited from 9am to 9:13 and still not open, just about to leave and someone arrived. No apology for opening late. Seemed a normal thing!

Thank you to the extremely helpful key-cutting man in Timpsons, Sainsbury’s Bridge of Dee, Aberdeen. who made me a new key for my Kia today. So polite and knowledgeable and my key was ready when he said it would be. Perfect service. Thank you.

Reply to Timpson: im not going to contact their customer service for a service which is substandard and just waste even more time.. i had a lengthy conversation with D***o already and he could not wait for me to go.. He was not going to offer any alternative.. and once they got my money they couldn't care less.Timpson

24 July 2026 Timpson at Sainsbury winte stoke road Bristol their dry cleaning service is rubbish. I was expecting some of the marks ( for me were dirt) to be removed . I was given a lecture that the dry cleaning clean but don't remove marks ( which for me is paradoxical). Plus the person beyond the counter was obviously annoyed I was querying the result. Customer service is lacking .they only seem to take your money upfront these days and don't complain! Even their repair shoes is questionable but they say that 's the best they can do !.

I've been to the shop this morning at tesco redditch, I've asked the gentleman Ross if he can fix the strap of my hand luggage, he did very good job, very professional, he told me he doesn't usually do it, 2differents shops won't do it, very happy, thanks

Wife's watch needed a new battery, so I went to Timpson in Wimbledon, who we all remember used to be reliable and well priced. They wanted just under £30 to replace the battery (battery cost £6 and a two minute job). Might as well buy a new watch. No thank you! Won't be going there again

Wanted to charge £50 for watch battery !!!

I've used Timpsons in Teso Thetford numerous times but I was now in for a shock. When I asked the rather surly staff member if he could change the battery in my Swiss watch he said "well I'll give you a quote". He then said "£49.95". I was taken aback as usually it was around £20 at the most. When I enquired why the price hike he replied rather rudely 'I don't set the prices ask Timpsons'. No, but you work for them I hit back. Still no reason given but I assume it's because they are charging high prices for good quality watches. But they only use the same batteries as in cheaper watches and are no more difficult to do.

So, the only conclusion is that Timpsons are profiteering or simply don't want to handle quality time pieces any more. My Swiss watch only cost £150 anyway, it's hardly a luxury brand. I'm not paying a third of that for a new battery especially as the previous one they fitted didn't last very long anyway.

And finally, don't treat your customers with contempt just because you ask a perfectly reasonable question. Unacceptable.

In March 2025, so just over a year ago, I purchased a lifetime watch battery for £24.95. This week the battery stopped and I went to my local Timpson where I purchased the battery, with a copy of the receipt on my phone, only to be told that unless I had the guarantee card they would not replace the battery. I was not given a guarantee card at the time of purchase, just informed to keep a copy of the receipt which is why I took a photo as the print usually tends to disappear over time on paper receipts. I contacted Customer Services and the response I received today was “Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, without a guarantee card, the colleague is unable to assist you.
I am so sorry again”.
Seems like they totally dismiss the fact I actually have proof of purchase, and are not interested in putting the customer first. I will never buy this lifetime battery again from Timpson.

Customer Services have since been in contact again and sending me a new card, so hopefully this issue will be rectified.
